Huge shoutout and thank you to Jim's Big Tow for their incredible support of the Caliber Collision Lees Summit Blue Pkwy location's 3rd Annual Food Drive Car Show! Not only did they show up with one of their tow trucks for display, but they also generously donated an entire pallet of Cheerios to help support the food drive. Their willingness to step up, support their community, and partner alongside us without hesitation truly means so much. One of Caliber's core values is "We are inspired to serve," and Jim's Big Tow exemplified that perfectly through their actions, generosity, and community spirit. read more

Jim's Tow has now rescued me 3 times, and their drivers are wonderful. They're kind, understanding, polite, and ever so helpful. The latest one Jim Tow Guy (his nickname to differentiate him from the owner) was able to get my car out of a very tight spot and take it to another very tight spot (Amazon's alternator caught fire), and I was mightily impressed. In all the excitement, I forgot the name of the tow driver from the flat tire rescue, but he was great also ... and so fast, I couldn't believe it. Both my tire and alternator went on the same day about 2 hours apart. I suspect that the accident on 435 the day before left debris on the highway which messed up my car. Having cheerful tow truck drivers makes an awful situation so much easier to handle. Thank you Jim's Two. read more

The tow truck driver was patient and kind when handling a tricky towing situation. Would highly recommend this towing company!

If you're ever stranded and need a tow - DONT CALL JIM'S TOWING So Last week I had the terrific misfortune of needing my vehicle towed after sliding on the ice directly into a curb. Unable to drive due to bent CV axle and shattered inner- outer tie rod I noticed that less than 175 yards away from where my vehicle got stranded was The Value Auto Clinic. After scurrying the 90 second walk down to the shop I explained my situation to which the shop steward assured me that they would be able get everything fixed up for me the following morning. I asked how I would get the vehicle down the street he immediately recommended Jim's Towing mentioning that they're located just four blocks down and very reasonably priced. They ended up charging me $110.00!! No flat bed - nothing elaborate just picked it up by the front - drove it for literally 30 seconds and then dropped it off. Absolute Rip Off!! read more

I have a car that was electronically locked up. Nothing could be done with it at all. The owners manual said it had to be towed by using skates and slid onto a flatbed. General Motors was providing a free tow so I don't know if the price was reasonable, but the young man who showed up was great and prepared with the skates. He was our fifth tow truck of the day. None of the first four had the skates even though they were told by GM to bring them and we had to turn them away. Getting five tow trucks took eleven hours. I can't say enough good things about Jim's Big Tow after this miserable day! read more

My wife locked the keys in the car and they were there to unlock within 20 minutes and on a Sunday at that. Chris was great, knowledgeable and unlocked our car in minutes read more

I was stranded on the side of the highway and called my road side assistance company. During that time the nearest tow company was 2 hours of waiting before someone to come by. I called the office and they had a driver within two minutes away. Driver was great and they towed my vehicle to the preferred location. God bless the staff of Jim's big tow service. So grateful and impressed with them. read more

During tonight's driving rain storm I hit a curb and blew my tire. We called Jim's Tow service and Carl was our assigned driver. He was on time, completely professional and a pleasure to work with. Jim's Big Tow - Joe doing a awesome job hooking me up for a tow - Towing Near Me - Lee's Summit, Missouri

My battery died in a parking lot a couple of nights ago, and by grace or luck I found Jim's Big Tow Service and made a desperate call. I'm not familiar with this area, and I was super nervous. Will arrived within 10 minutes! His gentle manner quickly calmed my nerves. Will jump-started my car, then led me to O'Reilly's, where he talked with the manager about what I needed. Within minutes, O'Reilly's installed a new battery. Then Will waited to see that my car started and kept running. He also gave me the name of a couple of good auto repair businesses I can use in the future. I couldn't be happier, and am keeping Jim's Tow business card in my wallet, should I ever find myself in a similar situation. I am very grateful for all Jim's Tow Service did for me. read more

My husband's Tundra needed to be towed to a mechanic and Jim's Big Tow really came through for us! Fair price, called when promised, AND showed up earlier than I expected! Thank you Greg for saving the day! You were so kind and helpful considering I don't know the first thing about vehicles! I have a shared driveway and he did an excellent job being mindful of his surroundings. Great attitude and excellent service. If you're ever in a jam, they definitely are a company you can rely on. read more

Carl was my tow tech, made a call 30 minutes ago and he's currently pulling away right now. Extremely quick service and very reliable. Most seem-less towing experience I've ever had! read more

So let's say you're cruisin' down the highway, blasting "Bad Romance" and putting on a personal karaoke show for others zooming around you. Then you realize something is not quite right, as your car is making increasingly louder clickity-clackity sounds and starting to sputter. You pull off the highway onto Southwest Boulevard and realize your car is shutting down, your engine is failing and -- most fun part! -- your brakes DON'T WORK. So you careen onto the sidewalk as your car dies and you can't stop it, where it's now stranded in front of some creepy custom car store with airbrushed lettering on the frosted windows. That was my Thursday afternoon. Good times. I called the Firestone I usually go to (http://www.yelp.com/biz/firestone-tire-and-service-centers-kansas-city-2#hrid:4iXrErD8BxAxwZ9_OBggWg) (Man I have great car luck) and asked them the number to a tow service, any tow service, please god get me a tow truck. Enter Jim's Tow Service. The guy gave me a call to find out where exactly on the Blvd. I was stranded. He got there quickly and maneuvered his big truck to get mine off the street/sidewalk. I rode in the truck's front cab with him, which was very clean and nice. He was a super friendly guy and actually made me not hate life for a little bit. He even offered some inside info to the mechanics at Firestone about how my car parts looked when he was putting it onto the truck. So. No I'm not happy I had to deal with this. But the crew with Jim's Tow is definitely efficient, professional and pleasant. Now. Who wants to buy mama some new wheels? read more

I had a flat tire today and called several companies to get quotes - each quoted me about 100 dollars more than Jim's Big Tow. Not only is the name clever - all of the guys I spoke to were calm and really kind considering I probably sounded quite frazzled. They listened and told me what options I had & how much each one cost. They did arrive later than expected- however, there was an accident that was more prudent than my flat and they made sure to communicate what was going on and where their drivers were at. Very helpful, kind and definitely a good price for their services. Thank you guys so much! read more

Best service with true, good-hearted employees! -Worked with us on a reduced tow price (which already was low compared to surrounding tow companies) -Even past business hours, Jim helped us in our attempt to remove broken lug bolts for over an hour in the parking lot -Afterwards, he towed our car 30 minutes from his tow lot to my driveway for free when we were unsuccessful getting the car operational. -Beyond generous and willing to help us in every step in the process. Thank you!!! read more

Jim's Big Tow - Business Card - Towing Near Me - Lee's Summit, Missouri

These guys are seriously awesome. I called them up a couple years ago when my car died (RIP Malibu) on the way to work one morning. They were there within 15 minutes and got me all taken care of, and towed back to my buddy's shop. Last week my mom was headed home and blew out two tires on the side of the road - Mr. Clark was there incredibly quick and helped assess the situation before going to work on it. He was efficient and very friendly even though it was freezing cold and around midnight. He helped us tow it back into town to one of the shops, and even stuck around as I took pictures of the car, until I left. They are incredibly reasonable with pricing, and just knowing that they're going to take care of everything during a stressful time like this is an even greater testament to their service. Trust the reviews on Jim's Big Tow (lol). Thank you for your service! read more

Carl show d up in less than 20 minutes jumped my car that had been sitting in my garage for over a year. The service was amazing. I would highly recommend. read more

Absolutely amazing service. From the very start will was so helpful and easy to get along with. This was my first wreck and they walked me through the whole process of what I needed to do! Sharon, Jeremy (Aka jimmy neutron) and mike stayed after hours to help me clean out my car and get my license plate, etc. when they didn't have to. Above and behind genuine care. I will refer any of my friends to them! read more

If you're having a bad car day, do call Jim's Tow Service. The crew is friendly, fast and professional. They took my car to the wrong Acura dealership after I confirmed an incorrect address. They then delivered it to the correct location and didn't charge me for the extra miles! How awesome is that considering it was my mistake? The rate is $50 dollars to hook up the car plus $3 dollars for every mile they tow it. My total cost was $86. It's very reasonable. read more

You know this feeling. The click, the door shuts, your eyes enlarge and some choice words slip out. Keys inside and there is glass and metal between you and them. Oh yes, add Christmas day and cold weather to my mistake! I called Jim's Tow and things turned around quickly. Jim's son arrived in far less time than I was expecting. He rang the doorbell with a big smile and a clipboard. Done, Door was open. I didn't even know he was there! The charge was reasonable and my insurance reimbursed me. Jim's deserves 10 Stars! This company is proof that honesty, knowledge, skill, quality equipment, with clean trucks and clean cut employees creates a very successful business. read more

I hit the worst pot hole in Kansas City! I tore up the front right tire and was on the rim. I phoned Jim's and Carl came out to help me. I have never dealt with a tow service before. Carl arrived and was so polite and professional and really made me feel safe. He took me over to get my tire replaced. I can't express how kind he was. If I ever need help like that again I will know exactly who to call. If you need this service, please don't hesitate to call Jim's Tow service! read more

My battery died at I-70 Drive In. I thought I had pressed the start button one too many times and locked it up where the dealership has to unlock it. I called Mazda roadside assistance. Their dispatch service was supposed to send a tow truck out. An hour later I had not received a call or text. I called them back and the new dispatcher couldn't get the tow company on the phone. She was working to find someone else. After 3 hours and it being 2 AM sitting at the drive in, I decided to call in my AAA membership. They dispatched Jim's Tow and he was there in 20 minutes. He knew how to make my 2014 Mazda's immobility thingy recognize the key and he gave me a jump start. Apparently that is all I needed. I will definitely use them again when needed. read more

Unethical, unprofessional and a cheat. My son had a bad wreck, and the authorities called Jim's Tow to retrieve the vehicle. They impounded it, charged $250 to release it, said it would be $35/day to store it. I called another company who said they would buy the car for salvage the same day - Mike (at Jim's Tow) did not live up to allowing the other company access to the car. Over the course of 3 days, he gave a number of excuses, and charged us $35/day to store it, even though we were on premise to retrieve the vehicle the same day. He bought time, was unresponsive and refused access just so we would have to pay him storage. After the vehicle was purchased, it was learned that Jim's Tow had removed parts from the car prior to releasing it. Mike was rude, unprofessional, and generally a very severe jerk to work with. Police report filed as well as reporting to the city, county, AAA and BBB. We have no place for con artists here. read more

These guys are great. Fair and honest. We have used them a couple of times and are always blown away about how awesome they are. Most recently, my daughters car started to shake bad so she pulled over and called Jim's. The driver realized it was just snow pack in the wheel well, cleared it out and sent her on her way. No charge. Did I mention I love these guys. read more

Made a very stressful situation 20x better than it could have been. My brakes failed and Norman came to my rescue via AAA. This is the best tow service in the Kansas City area. I was waiting for another tow service for over 2 hours who never showed. I called Jim's Big Tow and Stephen was there in less than 20 minutes. Jimmy is very playful I will definitely purchase another ride with jimmy again! 5 starz!!!!!!!!

Great experience. Recommended shops and was it was a quick and relatively painless process.

I really appreciate wrecker operator Dave who answered a AAA call to tow my car to the dealer. Dave identified the problem with the battery, which I misdiagnosed as something else. With a few turns on a wrench he fixed my issue and I learned something about how to prevent the issue in the future. read more

I must have called four to five tow services in the Grandview, MO/Overland Park, KS area. I wasn't satisfied with the price quote offered by any of them. When I called Jim's Tow Service, I was surprised to find myself speaking with the owner himself (on a Sunday evening). I explained my needs, he offered a reasonable price (probably 15-20% less than all other quotes) and we agreed on a time to meet. The tow truck was a few minutes early and the driver "Duke" was a top notch, polite, respectful individual. No hidden charges and vehicle was dropped off for the exact price quoted on the phone. Quick and easy process! I would recommend these guys in a heart beat. Almost made a stressful situation - enjoyable! read more

I got a flat on 4-70. I couldn't get my spare on, so I was just sitting there for about 30 minutes, when one of JIm's guys comes by. I was also completely broke and told him that. He said it was alright and he helped me change my tire and he filled up the spare. I am forever grateful. read more

I'm told this was the first tow they have had of a boat out of the caves.... I had a disabled trailer, they towed it out of the caves and put my boat and trailer on a flat bed. Hauled it to Blue Springs Marine to drop the boat onto another trailer and then took the disabled trailer to Croft. Easy peasy...reasonably priced and they got the job done. Jim, Mike and Dave were great! Would call them again in a heart beat! read more

We've used Jim's Tow for years. Driver Will Clark did an amazing job after my son trashed his car's right front wheel; bearings; other and ended up with two flat tires after hitting a curb late one night. Will told me the challenges hooking up a car that low on two flats and being that closely positioned to the curb and avoiding front end damage. However, Will patiently inched the car up on the lift, all the while squeezing into tight spaces to jack the car up so the frame was not touching the road, but sitting on wood blocks as it slid. Will worked for 2 hrs to meticulously get the car onto the truck bed. He then took the same level of patience in putting it back down at the collision repair location. Got the repair company's estimate and know the damage would have been much more expensive to fix if it weren't for Will. GREAT JOB Will!! read more

This small town girl was stranded on the way home in the Kansas City area. Called AAA, and I am so happy Jim's Tow Service came to my rescue!! The representative, Will Clark, was very helpful, professional and knowledgable. Here's a guy who loves his job and it shows. He ended up towing me home (160 some miles) in the middle of the night. No complaints and he was a great conversationalist. THANK YOU, WILL, JIMS TOW SERVICE OF RAYTOWN/LEES SUMMIT, and AAA!!! Highly recommend all!! read more

Called Jims tow and and another tow company on a sunday for a tow, car was stranded on side of busy road. The other tow company should up first, had to get car out of road! Jim's tow should up after and complained! Then i recieved harassing phone calls from Jims tow for the next hour! When my mechanic showed up where I had it towed all four tires had been slashed, not any other cars in the lot had been messed with! The 2 Tow companys are the only ones who knew where my car was. I made a police report, BBB complaint, Attorney General Complaint and calling Fox 4 Problem solvers! They were the most unprofessional people i have dealt with in a long time, i wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! Don't waste your time there are plenty of good tow company's in kansas city! Jim's will be caugt up in the legal process for a while! read more

Our teenage son parked at a funeral home during a recent public event in town. He looked and saw no sign to indicate that you were not allowed to park there. It was dark and the sign that was posted was a very small one in a weird location. He came back about 90 mins. later to find that his car had been towed. When talking to the funeral home they told us that Jim's Towing is in charge of watching the lot and when it gets somewhat full of cars to call them. So Jim's Towing waited until the lot had around 30 cars in it and then they pulled in with around 10 tow trucks and hauled everyone away to their impound lot. The cars where towed about 1-2 miles. They charged $150 to get your car back. We talked to several people and they all had not seen the sign or they would have parked elsewhere. When getting our car back from Jim's Towing the man was very defensive of the funeral home and seemed to have a very close relationship with them. It would not surprise me if the two work together during these public events to both make a lot of money off of unsuspecting people. There were several young teenagers that work at $8 an hour jobs to pay for gas and etc. that had to pay $150 to get their cars back. This seemed like an unethical setup between the funeral home and Jim's Towing. I would strongly suggest that you call someone else when you need to be towed. read more
