THE QUICK AND THE BREAD Good ol' Jimmy John is speedy and seldom disappoints. Our local JJ's sits at the northeast corner of Boughton & Weber Rd, next to Dickey's BBQ and a nail salon. They're a great choice for lunch, although I've swung by here a couple times for dinner on my way home from work. My wife loves the combo ($10) that comes with chips, fountain drink, and choice of 'favorite' sandwich like the #12 Beach Club on sliced wheat. It's $1 less if you opt for an 'original' combo, but this restricts you to choosing from the #1-6 (e.g. Pepe, Big John, Vito, tuna, BLT). The dudes here have been so fast with the sandwich prep, I've barely finished paying at the register and they're handing me a completed order. Dang! I definitely appreciate the expediency, even if that means employees being a little curt. Friendliness only really matters to me when I'm being served at a sit-down restaurant. I'm that guy who asks for every topping/free condiment that's available, including extra mayo. It makes the sandwich a little sloppy, sure, but what can I say? If I'm paying for it, might as well get the most value for my money. Slap a "slippery when wet" sticker on that bad boy and send me on my merry way. * TL;DR * When it comes to cold subs, I have to give the edge to Jersey Mike's (also conveniently nearby) but with a bit of convincing from my partner I'd have no problem ordering from Jimmy John's again. Excellent sandwich shop. I have been here a several times in the past but obviously not for a long, long while cause it was completely revamped inside with the counter on the opposite side. I placed an order prior online on their app which I haven't used since we were in Indianapolis. I tried a new sandwich- a Caprese Salami Pesto which was a great delight! Hubby had his regular Club Lulu. Everything was made just great and to order and the app was easy to get through with no problems. I walked in and they had a little table to the left side set up for to go orders so I just grabbed it and ran on my way. I highly recommend this restaurant. It was very busy and there was no garbage or unbussed tables. It appeared to be very well run. read more

A few nights ago (10/9/) we ordered 2 sandwiches for $34 from Jimmy Johns on west Boughton. I'm old, and regrettably put in my address as 239 (street name ending in) Court, instead of 249. After 20-25 minutes, we called to ask about the order we hadn't yet received. They were quite rude and condescendingly barked, "We delivered it!" I mentioned not to our house, and again, rudely, "Well, we delivered it! " There is NO 239 (street name) COURT! The DRIVER drove around and instead of calling us with the phone number on the receipt to say they couldn't find our house, they drove around the block and delivered it to 239 (Street name) WAY!!! Admittedly, this was partly MY mistake, as the address is actually 249 (street name) ending in Court. We are retired senior citizens. I was going to let it go, taking responsibility for my mistake, but today thought, "Why?" They did not call to check on where our house was (less than a block away from where they delivered it!!!) They were rude when I called about it, and I am now going to call my credit card company and dispute the charge, as we never received our food. I remember (and expect) better and more professional service. Maybe I expect the professionalism I always tried to give my customers. Jimmy John wouldn't even entertain correcting it. All they would say is "We delivered it!", and as that's how they handled it, I am cancelling the charge! read more

Sitting here at home waiting over an hour now for a delivery order. After 20 minutes of waiting, I called the store to get an update and was told that they only had one driver and they would be back soon, then my order would be the next delivered. 30 minutes after that, still no order or updates. I called the store again and spoke to a manager who offered me a $7 store credit for the trouble.... Average, no better than a sandwich made at any other deli. Really, not at all impressive. Don't go in there expecting the best you've ever had. Bread is good, sandwiches are on the thinner side and for some reason they don't cut them in half. I tried them twice to make sure I gave them a fair shot. Called to place an order at 11am, they called me back at 1130 and said they just opened and are a new store...lie number one...then said they don't deliver to my warehouse...lie number 2... then I called and the assistant manager was anything but helpful! Rude tone, had no clue who she was talking to, just kept saying street addresses without asking who she was talking to then said that "corporate" came out and said only deliver to a 5 min. The previous reviews are accurate. I finally ate here for dinner, and while the interior/space is fantastic compared to other JJ's locations, the service reflects that of a community pool concession stand. When I came in there were about seven (young) employees talking and shooting the sh*t. One employee took my order, but exerted some kind of disdain for having to do so, which was annoying, but what can you expect when eating in a JJ's? The food quality is always good, but the staff made me feel like I needed to order to go. One thought; where is/was a manager? There were a bunch of employees (some working, some idling) standing around in groups, almost gossiping and failing to acknowledge that there were customers in the store. read more

I live less than 5 minutes from the Jimmy John place. I work from home sometimes and am not able to leave the house for lunch. I called Jimmy Johns and they took 40 MINUTES to deliver a sandwich. I called and I got an excuse with no remedy besides he is on his way. I love Jimmy John's, but I hate that I live closest to this location. I have been told on many occasions that they do not deliver on Sundays or don't have a delivery person on a certain night. They are supposed to deliver 7 days a week. It says so right on their menu. And apparently they close at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights? I don't know of any other location that closes that early. The other Jimmy John's down the road on E. Boughton has much better service and is open until 9:00 p.m. every night. If you can, go there. Edited to Add (6/9/11): Today, they chose not to participate in the $1 sub day today. So instead of participating and getting everyone's business and keeping the community happy with them, the owner chooses not to and has hundreds walk away. And then makes money off of me who had a baby with me so I needed to get some food and eat. But I was so angry about giving this owner any of my money. Then the topper was that after almost filling my stamp card, now they don't do stamps anymore. Great. I do not plan to give this owner any more of my business if I can avoid it. The service has really stepped since the last time I came, the subs were so fast I freaked and everyone was polite and nice when I was having a bad day. Sandwiches are fine. When ordering in person and dining in, it would be hard to mess up a simple sandwich order. My issue with this location is the lack of basic manners. They are downright rude. You place your order, they collect your money and then they walk away or look past you like someone is behind you in line; when, very often, you are the only one in line. On occasion, I've actually tried to force a "thank you" out of them by waiting and staring at them uncomfortably after I pay -- to no avail. Of course, they ALL yell "thank you" as you walk out the door; but that's just mindless Employee Handbook stuff, like at a lot of stores do now (eg Sports Clips). I wish the manager of this store would just make sure that the employees practice basic civility and customer appreciation. read more

This is by far the best Jimmy Johns I have been to. The employees get all of their work done quickly and are constantly cleaning the customer area. The food service is quick and they always wish me to have a good afternoon/evening. Their patience with some of the rude and short-tempered customers I have seen them deal with is incredible. This is the worst Jimmy Johns I've ever been to. The sad part about is that it's so close to my house. This is the first time I've ever been to this one. I walked in and it smelled like urine and Toliet cleaner. The girl at the register looked bored, mad and completely uninterested. I placed my order and watched the guy pile on peppers when the ticket said E-Z peppers. He put a pile of lettuce on top and I asked the cashier if he knew what E-Z peppers meant. She turned to him and told him to take some of the peppers off. He immediately turned into a butthole and took off most of the lettuce and whatever peppers he could grab. He put the meat on and wrapped it up. Where was the onions? Where were the rest of my toppings. He practically threw the sandwich on the counter and walked off. RUDE RUDE RUDE. I will NEVER return here. It took everything in me not to ask for my money back. This place needs some new staff because the folks there are definitely giving the place a bad rep! They don't say hi they don't say thank you and they don't say good bye come again. I went to this particular Jimmy Johns (Bolingbrook) after a long day of work last night thinking that I would enjoy a great sandwich. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. First of all, I entered and waited several minutes without ever being greeted by anyone behind the counter. Eventually, the man (older...around 50+ with a long beard) yelled for the teenager sitting in the back to come forward to help. The boy had been sitting in the back and it looked like he had been texting on his phone. When this teenager came forward he went straight to the cash register, handled several items there (again no acknowledgement even though I was standing right in front of the cash register). Upon a directive from the 50+ man who was making a sandwich he went to help this man make a sandwich he had been making. Let me also say that there was only ONE person ahead of me and not one person after me so this was not a "high volume" time of day. I can only imagine how it might be at other "busier" times. The final straw was what I observed the boy do before he came forward to help the man make the sandwich. I watched as the boy crumbled and manipulated a pair of plastic gloves in his sweaty hands (I imagined) and put them on. Because I work in the health field, I know that the proper protocol is to wash your hands before you put gloves on. Obviously, this location has not trained their employees on proper health techniques for safe food handling. I brought this to the attention of the a 3rd male (another teenager) who just shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes. When I brought it to the attention of the 50+ man, he said "we don't need your business". I was floored! Anyway, this is the last time I enter this Jimmy John's. This is only the second (and last) time I attempt to eat there. The first time...service was average but at least it wasn't rude. I AGREE with Karen B. (3.18.11) who also posted about the rude behavior at this restaurant. I firmly believe that for every 12 people that have had bad service, only one complains. Imagine all of the bad service people are tolerating from this Jimmy John's even though there are plenty of fabulous restaurants nearby? BOTTOM LINE: Take your money somewhere else. You deserve to eat in place that has good food and good service. Try Panera or the Patio which is just a heartbeat away.......On the other hand, if you feel like lettuce intermingled with sweat and a strand or two of a man's long beard, then definitely eat here. read more

I love Jimmy John's but I am really disappointed by the service I have received at this location. I ordered a sandwich and chips and waited 50 minutes for delivery. I opened my sandwich to enjoy and it was the wrong sandwich! I called and the manager acted like it was no big deal. They said they would deliver the new sandwich and I asked if they were going to include anything else like a cookie or something to make up for the error and long wait time. She asked "why"? We work for a big corporation in the area and order corporate lunches from this location when we have guests in house. Called today to place an order and was told that we were "out of luck" because they will no longer deliver to our location. I was given the option to increase our already large order or come in and pick it up. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! While this is an inconvenience for us it is an even bigger loss for the store. read more

I order from Jimmy Johns a lot, but I have to say this is the worst location, mainly due to customer service in which case they are severely lacking. No one is ever friendly when I go in there, and I've waited over an hour more than once for delivery. If I can avoid this location I go to the Woodridge one in 7 Bridges- much friendlier, and cleaner! read more
