I currently hold six State Farm policies and, over the past three years, my experiences with other State Farm offices have always been positive -- responsive, cooperative, and truly helpful. Unfortunately, my experience with the Jim Von Eiff State Farm office has been the complete opposite. I was assigned to a new agent who is inexperienced, does not appear to have support staff, and consistently takes more than three days to return even the simplest call, email, or text. In most cases, I've had to follow up multiple times just to receive a basic reply. Despite repeated attempts to reach out, Mr. Von Eiff himself has never responded to my messages or emails. This lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism is extremely disappointing -- especially for a company that emphasizes customer service. What's most frustrating is that this office seems focused on soliciting new business, yet it does not provide existing clients with the reliable support, accuracy, or responsiveness we should expect. If you live in Maspeth or Middle Village and you need insurance DO NOT go to State Farm on Grand Avenue and 65st. There is an Allstate directly across the street, they can't be any worse. Let me tell you what they did to my 83-year-old mother who had a State Farm policy for many years and never filed a claim. Mom had some damage to her home and submitted a claim. When she did not hear from anyone at State Farm she called them, and was told to resubmit her claim, and 7 days after the first submission she resubmitted. After 2 months of not hearing anything, she called and was told again to resubmit. The claim was resubmitted on December 19th and again on December 20th That makes 4 claims submissions. She was then dropped from her policy. I made a call to State Farm's 800 number. They told me the decision for this policy was made at the local office and to call them. So I called the Grand Ave office to get clarification as to what happened and why she was dropped, a woman answered the phone. As I started explaining what happened she pulled the old "sir are you there"? I can't hear you. Sir? Sir.... click. (Really?) I called right back. Got a voice mail. I left a message and asked them to call me right back - no one ever did. Still giving them the benefit of the doubt I called and left Jim Von Eiff a message - again explaining the issue and asking for clarification - again no call back. One last time, got Jim's voice mail, left a message and no return call. Do your self a favor, find another insurance company or at least another agent. These people are probably great when it comes to signing you up but miserable when it comes to service. Lets just say Jim Von Eiff is no Jake from State Farm and unlike a good neighbor, Jim is never there! Go somewhere else! read more

MUST READ - I created this account to remain anonymous and prevent repercussions to my insurance policy. Yes... its that bad over there. The price of ins is definitely good, no concerns there (but with my driving record and home owners policy, I can get a good rate elsewhere. I will price around this afternoon). As for the customer services; it is beyond horrible. They are always defensive, rude, and and extremely unapproachable, no matter which representative you speak with. Calling this location will ruin your day!! You will get an attitude as well as a condescending response. Zero customer service skills; from the person at the front desk answering the calls to the actual agents who handle your concerns. And if you get Mike on the phone, you might as well hang up and try again!!! Probably two of the worse agents in that place. Jim has been extremely helpful with getting homeowners insurance. As a first-time homebuyer some questions may seem obvious or "the basics" but Jim has been so patient and helpful with me throughout the entire process. I Had the pleasure of dealing with Tim von Eiff for a new Auto, Home and 'Umbrella' policy. Very professional and patient as I reviewed competitive quotes from a number of other insurance companies. Tim was always right there to answer my questions and when he was with another client when I called, he was promptly right back to me with a return call. Prices from State Farm were competitive and in at least one case easily beat the next lowest quote. They are one of the largest insurers in the US but Tim von Eiff shows that just because State Farm is big, they have not lost the 'personal touch'. read more

Left state farm for Geico after my car was hit while parked by a fire truck. Needed a rental, while the vehicle was getting repaired. I was told that i don't have rental coverage but when i initially purchased the vehicle i was told that i was by two separate agents there that i had the coverage. Few months later i was rear ended by another vehicle, and Geico has taken care of everything for half of what i was paying with State Farm. read more

These people are scammers ! Do not do business with them ! I took a defensive driving course to get a 10% reduction on my monthly premium on my car insurance, they added the 10% reduction on October 2016, after my insurance was renewed in November 17, 2016 my 10% reduction was gone ! I called them up and asked why since the company that provided the defensive driving course said it was a 3 year discount. The agent gave me some BS excuse about medical rates going up . I am filing a complaint against them with the B.B.B. and will be contacting the New York State attorney generals office to file a complaint against them also. I think they are a bunch of scammers !. Update.. I do not need to make an appointment and listen to more BS from your office. You people have done this to other customers of yours besides myself, it is time somebody called you out on it. I already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will now file with the Consumer protection Bureau and the State Attorney Generals Office. read more

If a zero rating was possible it would be selected. One word to describe them is horrendous. How do you run a business and your staff is not aware of your policies. They have continuously raised my rates, even tho I have no accidents and have my defensive driving certificate. Their reasoning is either "I dont know" or "because your rates have increased in your area". I have never heard this from any other agencies. With my household policy I try to put a claim bc of a repair that was needed, after all that's what insurance is for, they are hesitant to file my claim and then immediately tell me they are raising my rates. I try to talk to Jim Von eiff he is the owner after all and his assistants tell me he does not deal with customers. Talk about customer satisfaction. Marilyn who works at State Farm has been very helpful. I was buying a house. I called her and she walk me through everything I needed to know when it came time to close on the house she was there to provide all the info I needed. She is professional , respectful and polite . She is very informative. I never have an issue picking up the phone to ask her a question she is always has an answer and is always Pleasant. I would so recommend anyone to call Marilyn. BEWARE OF JOSE DOMINQUEZ!!!!!!! If I could give it a 0 zero rating, then I would. Jose Dominquez "account manager", is as unprofessional as it gets. He is clueless about policies and offers false hopes to clients waiting for a "slot" for a home owners insurance. After waiting a month for his reply I had to remind him of our previous conversations, a month ago, because I "had to wait till the beginning of each month" to see if I can get insurance. After reminding him of our conversations he says, "We dont give out insurance to second home buyers" and that he would give me someone elses number WTF!!! loser. I would not give any of your so called coworkers the time or day. He had the audacity to text me, "delete my number". Guess what asshole, I will not need to call a unprofessional and unknowledgeable wanna be manager. Be aware he also tries to ask if your selling your home.
