So grateful they were able to repair my favorite sandals
    Stephanie M.

SO thankful that there is a place in Eugene that specializes in the repair of shoes. I purchased my leather sandals in Athens, Greece back in 2018 and they are my favorite pair of Summer shoes. Last Summer, the clasp on one of the finally gave out. Before the warmer season approached in 2024 I wanted to get this fixed, that's when I discovered Jim. Incredible easy process. Just dropped them off and waited for them to give me a call when they were complete. I think it took them less than a week? It was only $25 dollars and he repaired the clasps on both shoes. Just in time for my trip to LA where I got to wear my favorite sandals all over Hollywood. Specific trade shops like this are so important. I highly recommend you checking Jim out for any shoe needs before just ordering a new pair.

                         Shoes!

Mike is actually the owner of this valuable asset to the city of Eugene. It's a gem of a shoe shop providing quality repair at reasonable prices. Jim The Shoe Doctor has a stellar reputation for helping locals and travelers alike with repair and reconditioning of the footwear they can't discard. Mike has cobbler talent that only comes from years of experience. I have a leg discrepancy that requires a large lift on all my shoes. I'm never disappointed with the results of his work.

Mike did a great job putting new soles on my mother's old leather Montrail hiking boots. They look as good as new and should last another 10 years.

These boots have a special meaning to me. So I really wanted to make sure they were done right. I did a quick Google search for "boot repair in Eugene" and Jim the Shoe Doctor came up. I called and explained the situation with my boots. They had mineral/salt/water damage pretty bad. I was told they could fix them up. They told me exactly what they would do and they turned out great! It was a two day turnaround and the cost was far less than I had expected. You can never tell there was the water damage at all.

    Full boot rework!

Terrible job that took 2 months. I now need to have the job redone and the Chanel belt is ruined.

It's a nice place, although getting in and out of the parking lot sucks due to speed, blind corners, and giant hill coming in and out. The shoe repair prices are lower than at other shops, and the work is good. I recently dropped off three pairs. They call you when the shoes are ready. A week and a half later I was in the area, and decided to call to see if they were ready. Well. First thing to know about Burch's shoe repair - they usually don't answer the phone. You need to leave a message and the "counter girl" will later return your call. So I decided to come in to check. That was a mistake. You ring the doorbell and, well, I guess I must have interrupted some shoe repair, because this guy was not happy to see me, brusquely telling me I will be called when the shoes are ready. Fine. I later picked up the shoes. One pair looked a little different, but I figured it was just that I had not seen the shoes in a while. At home, I realized my heel cups were missing. The insoles for my boots were returned. So I called them (left a message of course) and asked if they had them. She later called me to say they didn't see them. *I* certainly don't have them, and I have reason to believe I left them in like I did the other pair. So I asked her if they would compensate me to replace the heel cups. I agreed with her that a big fat $10 would be enough - although driving back and forth to this dumb shop is costing me some too. She called back after speaking with the boss, who said that it is "against policy" to compensate me for what they lost, and it's "my responsibility" that I didn't remove the heel cups before dropping the shoes off, which was news to me. Anyway, they do get a star simply because the repairs are good. And this review unfortunately has nothing to do with the shoe store; if they want to conglomerate the reviews this is what you get.

I was a concierge at a nearby hotel and I would hear from our guests daily about how they were treated poorly. Now they have a new policy that they don't return shoes after 6 months. But on the Nike app it shows all purchases from years back. Why have the app that shows you purchases if the store won't take back brand new items. No where does it say this in stores or online. I have hundreds of pairs of new shoes that they refuse to trade in for new releases. I am done with Nike. Their clothes have lost all quality, and they are selling cheaply made designs on the showroom floor. I suggest going with an American alternative

I love supporting smaller athletic and athleisure wear companies but Nike is Nike and will always be Nike. I think it's still a solid choice for Men but there are so many far better small brand options for Women in my opinion. My brother is also sponsored by Nike and Callaway so buying these brands at retail price just seems silly to me. I have zero reason to do it other than wanting something right then and there - and I did! I wanted a little gift to bring home to my son, since he's a runner and I was in Eugene. I found a great shirt for him. Customer service was great, store associates were friendly at each encounter.
