My wife and I have been with Michael Weisz since about 2012. At the time, we interviewed a few…read moreaccounting firms near the Irvine area, and Mike struck us most as professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and very responsive to our emails. One of the reasons for why we had switched from our previous accountant was the lack of communication. We also liked the fact that his father had been running the firm for a very long time and was knowledgeable in other areas we had questions about that Mike did not specialize in yet. We also appreciated that both answered our inquiries without nickle-and-diming everything, often at no charge for relatively small questions. During the years we have been with Weisz, our returns had been quickly prepared, and Mike always took the time to listen to our questions while we discussed topics like planning for subsequent years to maximize our taxable income, and -- on a personal level -- how both of our families were doing. My brother's family joined in the tax preparation a year later, and he has been with Mike ever since too. We have no regrets being with Mike.

itle: Appalling Experience -- Avoid Financial Partners Credit Union…read more I had one of the most shocking banking experiences of my life at Financial Partners Credit Union, thanks to a grossly unprofessional employee named LINDSAY HEDDON (A TOTAL BRAINLESS KAREN) . After only two months of banking here, I decided to close my account due to the staff's complete lack of understanding of combined personal and business checking accounts--a basic financial service any competent institution should grasp. Instead of calmly handling my decision, Lindsay threw a fit, became belligerent, and--unbelievably--called the police on me for informing them I no longer wanted to bank there. Let that sink in: I chose to close my account, and their response was to treat me like a criminal. CEO Nader Moghaddam should take this as a wake-up call. If this is the level of customer service his team delivers, it's no wonder customers are walking out the door. Financial literacy and professional conduct should be the baseline for any employee interacting with the public--clearly, this message hasn't reached the front line. I will never bank here again, and I urge others to take their business to a credit union or bank that respects its customers and doesn't resort to intimidation tactics when someone simply chooses to leave.
