Finally found an acupuncturist in Bergen county. Just came back from the appointment. Dr. Shen arranged the appointment for the same day. She helped fill out all the paperwork for the insurance. Another Dr. Shen (spouse) took his time further diagnosing my many problems. He made me feel comfortable and spent more than an hour with me. He administered the acupuncture (didn't hurt at all) and also gave me a few minutes of massage for my back and neck. I would recommend them highly! read more

Jie is a great acupuncturist. She is very skilled at seeing your problem areas simply by watching you walk and move. She does needles and massage. If you have an area that especially hurts you, she will work on that area. Today I was having a lot of neck/ shoulder pain, she worked on it , and I feel so much better. I have been getting acupuncture from June and Jie for 6 years. I suffered from a alot of side effects from chemotherapy and decided to try acupuncture. They know what they are doing because they have alleviated many of my issues so I no longer need medications to subside the symptoms. drove almost an hour to get there due to traffic and mishap with the GPS. This was my first time trying acupuncture. I was so excited. When I got there, I had to pass by all the empty rooms to find the front desk at the back of the building. I Was like, "This is good no one is here but me and another customer." This chinese lady came up to me and asked me how she can help me. I said, "I have an appointment at 2:30pm." To which she replied, " I called you earlier and cancelled you. I left you a message." I said, "I received a call from a number I didn't recognize but there was no message." I struggled to get my phone, but I left it in the car. SHe then proceeded to show me the call she made to me early that morning. She said, "The girl who was suppose to help you, is sick, so I had to cancel you." She stared at me for a response, and I was getting annoyed by this time. No I'm sorry, I can help you, we can do something about this, I'm sorry you drove so far, nothing. I ran to my car to retrieve my phone. I showed her the phone number that I missed this morning, and she said, "That's my number, I called you. I left a message." I said, "Yes you called, from a number I didn't recognize, and I don't have a voicemail message from as you can see on this phone (showing my cell to her), just your number without the envelope sign telling me you left a message." I would've never drove almost an hour to go to this clinic if I had known that all I was going to hear was, " I called you this morning and cancelled you." She then said, "There's something wrong with your phone." Again, no apologies, was not even trying to help me. To which I said, " Is this what you guys do, just cancel because someone is sick? There are only 2 customers right now." She then said, " Well, what can I do if someone is sick, I can't make them come in. We cancel people all the time." I just lost it right there. I started raising my voice, and telling her that I did not drive almost an hour in traffic to be turned away. I brought up the fact that their policy clearly states, "Appointment required. 24hr cancellation notice required or fee up to Groupon price may apply. Must sign waiver." I stated to her that if she charges fees for customers cancelling their appointments, then customers should be charging her for cancelling their appointments. Since I had raised my voice, she told me to keep my voice down because I was scaring all the patients. I said, " What patient's? There is only one other patient right now, and they deserve to know that you cancel customers all the time. I walked out very disappointed. I made my 45 minute drive back home and cancelled their Groupon. read more

I discovered Dr. Jie Shen by researching local acupuncturists and decided to give it a chance. I have stress and tightness problems and sometimes, massages don't seem enough. She actually has a new office in Monroe, NY which is 5 mins from me so I had to try. She was great to chat with, but it was the first 20 mins of acupuncture that really helped me - I felt all the needles after 15 mins then my stomach started making noises...all good signs that my CHI was flowing properly again!! Then she worked my back and the pain in the crook of my neck was gone after this first session. She was terrific and I'm going back in a few days, shooting for twice a week. I had low back pain for at least 10 years. I have tried chiropractor and physical therapist. They could give me temporary relief. But as long as I stopped the treatment, the pain came back. Sometimes, the pain made me thinking about surgery. But the acupuncture treatment in this place really made me happy. By now, I have stopped the treatment for two months. The pain didn't come back. this place was simply horrible! the doctor was rude and pushy. the acupuncture hurt and did the opposite to relieve pressure. i did not feel any relief from my pain. the atmosphere was not relaxing, quite the contrary. i will not be going back ever. read more
