This airport overall is filthy, disorderly and inefficient. The TSA is understaffed and overwhelmed. There is no customer service or courtesy whatsoever. Although we anticipated for a 3-hour layover at JFK, because Delta Airlines was late leaving LHR and then further delayed us from de-boarding in time to make it through customs and security, we got stuck in a long line with woefully inadequate time to get through to our connection. To make matters worse, JFK failed to release our luggage about 45 minutes to an hour later making it impossible to drop it off before we could even get through security on to our connection. So when we got through to our gate, the attendant said to us and a dozen other passengers that the Delta connecting flight left 15 minutes EARLIER than the posted departure time. Delta didn't even bother trying to hold the plane for a dozen passengers, who were late because of Delta's delay AND JFK Airport's incompetence. JFK Airport and Delta Airlines could care less about customer service, let alone courtesy. Once they have your money, you're not only toast, you're history.
