DO NOT GO HERE! This is a VERY untrustworthy business and deserve NO stars. I was very much…read morecheated by Renae and like another reviewer, refuses to give a receipt or itemized list of your sale (which is required law). Words of advice: Check current gold/silver prices before going in. Insist she show you their current price list which is in the back of store and unable to be seen. Insist she weigh your items in FRONT of you as she does it off to the side. She brags how they have been in business 30 years. It's 30 years of getting away with scamming people is all she should be proud of. Get two or three other estimates before you go here. She also likes to insult and disrespect other jewelers (Earth Treasures, etc.) when she is the worst one. Unfortunately it was my first time selling jewelry and it was a terrible experience.

I thought about this long and hard about giving a review. I…read morecame to the conclusion that no one else should go through the 3 day total ordeal I went through. Initially, I visited Mikes We Got Gold establishment to cash in sterling silver and various karats of gold (10k, 14k and 18k) from my mother and Aunt who recently passed away and jewelry I haven't worn in years. Rinat, the owners wife weighed all the items and gave me a total flat price of $4900. Since she didn't reveal the break down, I asked her specifically how many total grams/pennyweight for each type of gold/silver which included separating my aunts jewelry from me and my moms. Not only did she not show me the weight on the scale of each of the items, after handing me $4900 she did not give me a detailed receipt of how many grams, how much scrap she's paying per gram/pennyweight and the total price. Thank goodness prior to leaving, I was smart enough to asked her for the amount of the jewelry that I sold for scrap because it turns out that at that point ultimately she shorted me @$700+ . (This is after I returned after an hour of the transaction). Thank goodness I did my research and determined that days scrap prices prior to the visit. Upon that return, she insisted her numbers were right and she checked 3 times. I then insisted she needs to look at her numbers given after my inquiry, which I wrote down on a scrap piece of paper and ultimately she paid me the $700+ difference. Later that day, I went home and I added up all the sterling silver totals, all the different types of gold and noticed that the 18 karat gold bracelet was not included in the price. I approached her again via phone and asked her about the fair market value for the silver and informed her that the 18 karat gold was not included in the price. Throughout this whole process, I initiated all the contact. Ultimately the initial $4900 when everything was said and done 2 days later was now over $6500. At each encounter, she gave me a myriad of excuses as to why she miscalculated. She was singing a different tune from our initial visit when she indicated she's been doing this for 13 years and she knows the business well. I was very disturbed that there was a $1600+ difference and finally two days after the initial contact she gave me a receipt with the breakdown and the additional $$ which included the error difference. During those days , I was mourning and was distraught with the passing of my mother and my aunt a few months apart and on top of it to be shorted $1600+! I still question in my head if the weight she gave me was an accurate number-since she weighed everything out of sight- but now there's nothing I can do about it. I'm hoping everyone (clients and owners) learn from this experience. No one should be shorted money they're entitled to!
