So I have THICK hair...I mean THICK...did i mention I have Thick hair? I'm a little OCD about my Thick hair...one side is almost always much different from the other. Best way to cut my hair is when it's dry...but even when a hairdresser says my hair is dry...it's still not. So very nice gal I was seeing for my hair did a fantastic job while I was getting that sever A-line/Pob cut. Loved it. When I decided to grow my hair out..she didn't do as great a job. Too much hair! So I think she was over my OCD and instead of just saying...ya know...it doesn't seem like you're happy with my cuts and you just have so much hair and I'm not an expert with thick hair...perhaps you should find someone new. Basically just fire me as a client. That would have been fine. Instead I went in for a trim....and I don't know what the hell I got. Looked like an f'd up wig someone practiced on. So my gal pal at work called up Jessica and said "You need to fix my friend's hair as soon as possible". Jessica had me come in the very next day...she took like an hour going through layer after layer after layer...did I mention my hair is Thick? Anyway she performed a miracle...Hair Magic! That was January 2009 and I have been with her since. She is so patient. She listens. She actually looks at the pictures your bring her of styles and colors. She makes suggestions with out patronizing you. She gives an AWESOME scalp massage. She checks, checks and checks again to make sure that the cut she gave is the same on each side of my noggin. Everything was wonderful from my first interaction with her over the phone scheduling an appointment, to walking in the shop and being greeted with a warm smile and genuine woman, to having my hair done by a very talented hair artist. You rarely find a hair stylist that is creative, meticulous and genuinely cares that you leave feeling like the most beautiful you. You'll find all of that with Jessica. I have tremendous amounts of extremely long and fine hair that I always want coifed into the perfect Gisele Bundchen image. Of course, thats in between my bouts of black and I wanna go red periods. She never skimps on detail even with the massiveness that is my hair, which is especially important with color and the health of your hair. Jessica took her time and made me feel very comfortable. We discussed style options and styling techniques. My favorite part about getting my haircut with Jessica, she delivered EXACTLY what we discussed. She didn't take off too much or try to convince me that should go a different direction. I've been looking for a hair stylist for my curly hair for a long long time! I used to go to a salon with good reviews that even my friends recommend and EVERY time ended up disappointed. I'm very stiff when it comes to my hair and it's not very easy to please me (not one of those "it will grow" ppl). I have alopecia. For those of you who don't know, this is a condition in which i lose patches of my hair. It frightens most stylists, not Jess. She embraced the rare canvass of my head without hesitation. The cut is short and stylie, fits my personality exactly. She added style to the already short hair that I had, I thought this was immpossible! (Note: If you have short hair, never trust a stylist with long hair) She colored my hair in three tones and gave my look such unexpected dimension. The tones matched my skin perfectly. The end result was funky yet still appropriate for my corporate job. Great balance. I had not idea how cute my locks could get. Keep in mind this was under no direction of my own. I have straight blonde hair and like to highlight it a couple times a year to brighten it up. So when I get it highlighted, it's got to be done right so that it blends in nicely with my natural color after a couple months of outgrowth. Jessica understood this completely and matched the low lights with my natural color seamlessly. And, I'm loving the vibrancy of my new overall color! I've had some real bad experiences with horrible highlights in the past. And, I would recommend any blonde to get highlighted with Jessica. She has an extensive array of shades to choose from, and she knows which shades to put together according to your skin tone. I had 3 shades weaved in and it looks amazing....really natural. And don't forget about the cut! I didn't have a photo with me, but she really listened and took a lot of care with each snip. The cut she gave me is just below the shoulders with a few inches of fun, flippy layers around the bottom. LOVE IT! Another thing that is so impressive about Jessica is that she is easy to talk to and is really dedicated to her clients. So many hairstylists are intimidating and you feel like you can't really express what you want, or dare say that you're not happy with the results. But, with Jessica, she makes you feel comfortable and you can trust that she's really listening to what you're looking for with your hair. She has been my hair guru for almost 12 years now- she moved to SoCal for a while, she was in the City for a bit, she had a Texas interlude...but she has been my go-to gal for over a decade.
