This is a family owned business and has been around a long time. Through the years, Paul Sr., Paul jr., James, and Debra have all done my taxes. The north side location stays so busy, I got tired of waiting every year, so I started going to the southside location. It's not near as busy and I never have to wait. Hmmm. Does that mean something? Larry called me into his office and requested my W-2. He asked me no questions about my year and what financial actions I had taken(which is unusual) and told me my return amount. This year although nothing has changed with my income it was about $1100 less than usual. He asked no questions about big deductions. I told him that I was unhappy with my return amount and he said that there was nothing he could do. I reminded him about the usual questions I generally get asked from prior years and he said "oh yeah but unless they have taken $15,000 from you those wouldn't apply to you." He told me that I still have to pay $25 for the three minutes he gave me. Very disappointed this year and that will be the last $25 I give Abilene Bookkeeping. The place has really fallen far. Turbo tax got me my usual amount though. I guess this is why small businesses are falling to internet services. Pitiful.

I was really hoping to avoid writing this, but with the constant commercials and notification…read morereminders of my visit on my smart phone, the memory of my experience just won't fade away. Normally, I am able to file my taxes through an online service and can make quick work out of it. However as I'm sure for many, my tax situation changed in 2020. So I felt that i should seek out a professional so i made an appointment at this office on Saturday, February 27th. The tax agent was far from professional and more interested in her commission than answering my questions. She said that if I was not ready to file then I should leave my forms with her so she could start working on the next person, although I was the only one in her office. She even went as far as to inform me saying, "I want my money just like you want yours". She definitely made me feel like I was wasting her time and did not have my best interest in mind. If "Block has my back", it certainly did not tell her and my well-being was definitely not her "top priority". I have been fortunate to have worked in the food & beverage industry for over 20 years as a dishwasher moving up to restaurant manager. Not once did I experience any one that I worked along side of or as a member of my staff treat a guest like I was treated. Extremely poor customer service, avoid at all cost.
