It had been a very long day and first time in Mt. Dora, so I looked up places to eat I was not sure about Jeremiah's but was too hungry and tired to go anywhere else. It was just about under an hour before closing so I was appreciative that we were able to order something to eat. Our food came out quickly and we were so delighted that our meals were Prepared so well. The mahi tacos were very tasty fish tender and delicious, the ribs and mashed potatoes were also very good and well cooked. We drove from Tampa to Mt Dora for a day trip on a beautiful day and to visit some B & Bs. This restaurant is on a corner, and without the curb appeal of some places in the historic district which were too packed and we couldn't find parking. Hence we found this on the outskirts of that area. The exterior paint job is cute but very faded. Still it had a nicely decorated doorway and we decided to go in. Very sweet old fashioned interior was nicely decorated for the holiday. Just a few folks were there at 12:30, but a steady stream arrived behind us. Our server wasn't familiar with the beer menu, but quickly got the information and we decided on one of just a couple local brews they had. It came faster than we imagined and in iced mugs! YEAH! On top of that, they are 2 for 1 or under $3 each. We'd been looking at a diverse menu, but opted for on of the specials: batter fried haddock, fries, coleslaw and a toasted roll for $10.99. It was great comfort food. The coleslaw arrived first and I liked that it was chunky rather than super finely shredded. The fish covered the plate and was piping hot, and the fries were also hot, crisp on the outside and soft inside. Our server brought malt vinegar (many places don't even have it) without my even asking. The roll was just ok, but I ate more fries than usual and most but not all of the fish. What a comfort food meal. Hubs could hardly get enough and asked to finish the fish. So much for noshing on the fish later. read more

She was too worried about another table that I think she knew personally because she bent over backwards for them. Great casual eatery in Mount Dora. They offer lots of outdoor seating in the midst of COVID 19 as well as to go service. Inside dining is also available if you choose. 2 for 1 Draft beers yesterday (Saturday) and speedy service. I had the chicken fajitas and the chicken was great! It was very clearly marinated as it had lots of flavor and wasn't dry at all. My fiancé had the patty melt and said it was delicious. Service was quick and attentive. We liked it so much we may head there to watch the big game! I'd highly recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a quick, causal, solid meal and some drinks. read more

As a native to the area I'm embarrassed to admit that this is the first time I've come here for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress, Olivia, was fantastic and an absolute doll. We'd come back just for her but we were fortunate enough to have great food too. The Mozzarella sticks were made in house and cut off the Mozzarella block. They were huge and pretty good for Mozz Sticks. The wings were spot on and they took the time to throw them on the grill for us and prepare them with all drums per our request. I can walk from my house to Jeremiah's and have been there 3 times now. I would say the experience has been consistent. I heard the ribs were the best in town and they do fall right off the bone and were delicious. But everything else has just been Okay. Nothing special. The décor is a nice throwback to yesteryear. Service is okay, but the servers don't seem very interested in their jobs. They do what is required, nothing more nothing less. I do like that they have an outside seating area for sports watching and a variety of beers to choose from. Don't set your bar too high and you won't be disappointed. read more

Burnt food, very long wait for everything from appetizers, condiments & entrees. Our Waitress with the red hair (unfortunately we didn't get her name) said the cook walked out but the table that sat after us received the food for a party of 4 within 15 minutes. When we asked the waitress to speak to the manager about our poor food quality ( I didn't finish my meal, I ate maybe a quarter of it) she said the manager took off our sweet tea. Very disappointed and surprised that a place with so many reviews would provide this kind of experience. Our waitress was polite but had to be reminded several times to bring things we asked for. After want to go here for a very long time. My wife and I went. What a let down. Everything we asked about on the menu was out. When we finally found something to eat. It was terrible. We spoke to a manager who did not seam to care at all. Her words were it is 7:30 and we close at 9 what do you expect. They did not have beer on tap. Decided to take Hubs here for lunch and to watch a little football. I've been here once before by myself and enjoyed both the service and my salad choice. This occasion was very similar. We found a spot on their outdoor patio and were greeted by a friendly server. She was attentive but not overly so that you can't enjoy your meal or conversation. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad with blue cheese dressing. Very good choice! Lots of different textures and tastes and the blue cheese is thick and delicious. Hubs ordered the Seafood basket... he said everything was tasty and not overly greasy. He enjoyed all the different games on all the TV's and the general atmosphere. We'll be back! read more

It had been a few years since I had been back here, but I was craving a really good, bloody Prime Rib and I was not disappointed! It was very delicious and hit the spot! Parking can always be tricky here, but we lucked out and got a spot right up front, probably because we got there right be 6pm on a Friday night. We were immediately greeted upon entering and seated quickly, near the bar. The only thing I didn't like was that when I ordered a draft beer, apparently it was 2 for 1 and she brought me both beers at the same time, not sure why that's a thing 'cuz I don't like chugging a beer super fast in order to make sure that the 2nd beer on the table doesn't becomes warm before I get to it. The street-front hides the surprisingly awesome back bar and garage door inside/outside area! The 2-4-1 drafts and margaritas was also a great surprise! All 8 of us enjoyed our various appetizers and entrees and beers! Busy place and the staff runs their butts off! Love the host (Taylor i think is his name) and our server Tammy kept a happy face even tho i could tell she was pulled in a million directions. Love the decor inside and also understand they have a smoking-allowed bar (no food). Menu is varied and look forward to trying more appetizers and entrees. We liked Jeremiah's, but I'm going with three stars for a reason I will explain at the end. Six of us went on a Saturday lunch excursion. Jeremiah's was convenient and doesn't have some of the issues like downtown. We're seniors, so up close parking is essential, and we were lucky to get two spots right in front. So, what was good? The service was excellent, the food was reasonably priced and good except for the liver and onions, which my wife couldn't eat. We liked the decorations, lots of nostalgia for a group of 70+ year olds. So why only three stars? Because at the end of our meal we were joined on the seat of the booth by an Australian Cockroach. Now those of us who live in Florida, know that this happens. It's really not a concern about cleanliness, but rather an indication that the exterminator is either not doing a good job, or needs to be called. back, four of us said we could overlook the bug problem, two said they wouldn't be back. I wouldn't let this stop me from trying Jeremiah's but you can make your own decision. read more

Oh man, what happened to this place?!? We drove to Mount Dora only to find Rocking Rabbit closed (on a Thursday?!?) and remembered Jeremiah's was a decent restaurant. I guess when I wrote my original review back in 2010 it WAS decent. But look at the trend now! The best part of the experience was the service. We were seated promptly and helped by a friendly server who did her best. First we were brought FLAT beer. Both our beers! Two different kinds... she said it was the same CO2 line for all the beer. It was happy hour (2-4-1) and we were brought fresh beers. They still weren't quite right... Then the food- my son's cheese pizza looked absolutely disgusting. It had the most processed looking white cheese (obviously frozen). My "special" was a pineapple teriyaki salmon that came with two sides. I chose a house salad with "homemade" ranch dressing and rice pilaf. The house salad was the plainest salad you could imagine and the dressing wasn't anything special. When the entree arrived I almost laughed! It was a tiny piece of fish that looked so sad with PLAIN WHITE RICE. The fish was obviously frozen as well. It kind of ticked me off because I specifically asked the server what kind of rice was served and was told wrong. And the worst part is my pathetic meal cost $18! You have GOT to be kidding! It really wasn't even worth $5. We will never be back to Jeremiah's. What a shame! read more

We usually enjoy Jeremiah's, but after covid shutdown and reopen we decided to venture to the covered but open air seating on June 10, 2020. The food was consistent to what I have liked in past (Best cheese sticks ever) but there were dirty menus and staff was using a wet rag sitting on the bar to clean off tables. The same one wiping bar too. Condiments on table appeared smeared/dirty. I did not feel that anything changed for the health of patrons or their employees especially at this time The staff was not wearing masks either. I will return but if everything is as was I will have to discontinue my patronage to Jeremiah's. read more

I normally don't post reviews, but I had too because I'm actually disappointed. We drove 40 minutes to go to Jeremiahs, since we had heard so many good things about it. When we got there, we had to park in the back, which was fine, but the dirt area was muddy, where mostly everyone was parked because there was nowhere else to park. There were no signs, and we ended up in a adjoined bar. Eventually we found the inside restaurant. We were sat in the back where we were sat around multiple tables of six or more. There were only two of us, and we were basically yelling to talk. The waitress was nice, and got us our water, but the lemons weren't ripe, and then I found a piece of lettuce in my water. I ordered the 8oz steak with mixed vegetables and rice, and my mother ordered the nachos. Hers came out first, and the chips were completely burnt, even the red ones down below everything. We sent it back and got one that wasn't burnt, and by then I had my steak. It was about the size of a 6oz, and when I tried to cut it, I almost had to saw through it. It was tough and only had a little flavor. My mixed vegetables were cooked carrots and green beans. The carrots were hot on the outside and ice cold on the inside. Then the green beans were either hot or ice cold. My mom said that the meat on the nachos she was rubbery and had no flavor. We paid and left, very very disappointed. Two stars for the service, since that was the only good part. On the way home, the food started talking back to both of us, so we actually stopped somewhere else and ate. It was a very big letdown for us, and we unfortunately won't be back. read more
