The red hair tattooed owner was super friendly answering all my questions concerning the pictures in the walls. I was curious to see if they were real ancestors or she just got those photos online to create faux family ambiance. It happens that they were real family, now overseeing what we eat from those black and white shots! This restaurant is very relaxing and calm, you can have a conversation and enjoy the food. Another thing is when you go to the bathroom and you clash with those eyes protruding the walls!!! they look so authentic. It was funscary! Food: my seafood plate was super delicious, nothing to complain about. The tomato based broth was really good. My colleague was not as happy with his meat as was more done than expected. I would maybe recommend it with the iberico pork mini burger they serve, although I never had that combination. Then to follow this up I chose the tenderloin and fried potatoes stacked on top of rucola lettuce. We had a bottle of blended wine (La grande clotte - lussac St-Émilion) which paired well with the beef. Sadly even though the cuisine of the beef was asked upfront, they were all served medium.. And the dishes weren't warm enough in my opinion. In the end I topped it all off with a very tasty tiramisu. Unfortunately to my disappointment I did not find any dessert wine that went by glass on the menu. Everything is served more or less bite sized, and tapas like. But that's the point.. I liked the experience and since I love wine I could live in a place like this. But, I would get bored of the food rather quickly.. Not impressed by the diversity of their menu, and also I find it is more of a commercial standpoint that only few wines are served by glass, since they do have the ability to keep bottles stored on tap. The kitchen is open and when busy it is noticeable that the staff can't keep up with the food that is being ordered.. This makes the wait long. But hey, no time is ever lost when in the good company of wine. Besides all that and more than enough on the plus to make up for it.. Good job to the owners, this is truly a good addition to the restaurant business in city of Hasselt.

I asked the waiter to bring me what he thought was best and I received a mixed grill of meat. The portions were large, which was not a problem since I was traveling with three very hungry children. I did find it was easier to speak German with the waitstaff than it was to speak English. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area.
