Gettin Hitched? Freaking out? No need.....well......no need to stress about the clothes in any case. There are plenty of places around, especially down Adelaides Bridal 'way', Payneham Road. There you will find a number of shops, but for many it starts and finishes with Jenny and Gerry's. There are a couple of reasons why many a potential Bride and Grooms (mainly just the Bride) head to the showroom. Firstly they handle both mens and womens attire for the big day, from the Gowns to the mens cummerbunds to a more mature look for the Mother and Father who are more than likely shelling out the clams for the event! They also stock some top end casual wear and standard suits for guys, make sure you are cashed up though! read more

We booked well in advance only to received terrible 'service' and be treated like an inconvenience. 1 changeroom for 3 bridesmaids...A reasonable range of bridesmaid dresses available however their sample sizes were all size 6 or 8 which were of no help! If you cant get a dress beyond your hips or bust you can't get an idea of what it might look like in a reasonable size. Some of the sample dresses even had blood on them ! Poor service and overpriced dresses is all you'll find here. I'll never be returning. Avoid!! read more

Worst customer service you will ever receive. The ladies were not helpful at all. Left standing waiting would not buy a dress from here! read more

Pushy pushy pushy. Pushed me into putting a deposit on dress and left me not comfortable about it. It was pushing my budget but they assured me of a price on the alterations needed so I went ahead. Dress came in with 4 weeks to go and they doubled the price of the alterations. Dress now way out of budget so would not have bought. Consumer rights are clear cut about that and I could have demanded that the price was honoured or received a full refund. If they refused a simple call to Office of Business and Consumers Affairs and they would have mediated this course. But who the hell has time to do this with 4 weeks to go? Whole experience made me sick to the stomach and I hated my dress as a result. They do have nice dresses there so check them out if you like, take a friend who is sly and take photos when no one is looking. If their reputation of how they treat their staff is also correct (let alone other customer horror stories that I have since heard) then they definitely don't deserve to be in business, so write down the tag details if you love one of the dresses and buy online from America. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR BRIDAL GOWN OR ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER!!... Staff are SO rude and I was left feeling very emotional. It was not a good experience at all.. I am disgusted in how unprofessional they are! If you want a Maggie Sottero gown or Sottero and Midgley I would suggest going interstate before here as it's cheaper. I thought maybe I was being a bit harsh but I was there when a girl was picking up her gown and she was very unsattisfied with the service also, I could tell by the way she grabbed her dress from the assitant and stormed off.. that was then followed by 2 of the assistants 'bitching' about the girl in front of me and another customer. I will not go here again on principle and I will be telling all my friends who are at the age of getting married to go elsewhere before here. read more

Before I visited Jen and Gerry's Bridal I had heard rumours that their staff were pushy and pressuring, however I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and try them anyway. Unfortunately these rumours are pretty much spot on. No sooner had we arrived we were whisked away into the change rooms without even getting a real chance to look over half the stock they had there. The woman who "helped" us pretty much selected the dresses for me herself, along with a couple that I had spotted beforehand. When trying the actual dresses on, even if I felt it wasn't really my style and said as much she kept saying that no, it looked really good on me and suited my personality etc etc; she wouldn't listen to what I had to say at all. Towards the end I just ended up saying I liked a particular dress even though I didn't, because I was getting a vibe from her that suggested "Well if you're not going to buy a dress, why are you even here?". She was very pressuring at this last point, saying she had done a special price and she could only do this price today, and they may not have the dress in stock tomorrow, so I should really put a deposit down now, etc etc. I didn't buy anything and felt totally uncomfortable. I think if you know exactly what you are after, probably this place is for you. If not, please be warned. I know that despite this review of course people will still want to check it out, just be aware the sales staff probably work on commission, and this appears to greatly affect the way they handle their customers. read more

Your Wedding Gown is possibly one of the most important purchases for a brides big day. You want to TRUST the person your buying your gown from is going to look after you right? Then perhaps this is not the place for you. If you still think it is then I hope you get your order in well in advance of your wedding. I can only speak from personal experience so here it is; The Dress: Having been measured and fitting a size 2 in all measurements except for .5cm on my waist (for a lace up dress) the sales clerk bullied me into a size four dress that I have now had to take in quite substantially.... thanks for that. Not to mention the poor communication, we had to call them to find out if the dress came in as they never let us know. The Veil: This time we were told it arrived, unfortunately upon going to pick it up it was discovered they got the wrong colour (lucky I purchased way ahead of time and had the time to wait for them to reorder the right one). When it finally came in the lady was at least very apologetic, she stated she attached a garter in an envelope to say sorry, she actually supplied a cheap acrylic ?bracelet of some kind. I suppose its the thought that counts but I certainly wouldn't be suggesting Jenny and Gerry's Bridal House to any future brides. read more

Absolutely disgusting business I could not possibly stress to anyone enough times do NOT even step foot in here for a look This 'wedding shop' is a disgrace for customer service and product. I agreed to buy A dress on the basis I could make it look more like a ball gown dress with a bigger hoop as they only had smaller style hoops in there shop so on my second visit with a bigger hoop i had purchased myself I came in and was told before I even tried the dress on that the hoop I had would simply not work with the dress I purchused... I told them how could they be telling me this when I was sold a dress being told it wouldnt be a problem they were rude about it they chuckled about it in my face and the assistant then said fine ok well ill help you try it on but it wont look right , , ,once on the dress went completley mis shapen it looked awful the assistant then said 'you look like a gypsy bride' in front of the owner who had no interest in trying to make me feel better about what I had been told AND infront of another client I was completely embarrassed took what was suppose to be my wedding dress off with a ruined experience left bawling my eyes out and still to this day months later am still fighting for a refund. for false advertising and mis leading me for a sale.So devastating. read more

Was treated horribly by Gerry in suit hire. Was too busy with paperwork to look up at us when talking. Also in the bridal department as soon as they saw I wasn't wanting to spend over $3k they looked at me up and down and said that there would be nothing in my size and proceeded not to help me with any questions i had or were very hesitant to let me try on dresses because i was "too big" im a size 14.... how is that too big?! read more

I bought my tea/ankle length strapless wedding dress from Jenny & Gerry's earlier this year. My service when trying on dresses was great, the sales assistant was very friendly and great at helping me into the dresses as a plus size (16/18) person. I ordered a stunning Alfred Angelo dress and was very happy when it arrived - when I took it to my dress maker for alterations she quickly informed me the dress was completely unlevel (with the front back and sides all varying between 2-4 INCHES in length) there was also some CUT lace hidden under the satin waist. This was very worrying - I got in touch with J&G's straight away and they squeeze me in for an appointment that week - at firs they did not quite seem to understand what I was saying about the dress and were very surprised at my complaints saying that it may be the way I was standing in the dress - when I put the dress on it seemed they understood the seriousness of it and they did then do the levelling of the dress at no cost. They also took photos of the dress to send to the suplier. Due to time constraints, I ended up getting the rest of my alterations there as well, and my dressmaker Sonya was very talented and knowledgeable, I love the caplet sleeves she whipped up with me with off cut lace from the dress. I would have appreciated if I was given a discount for the other alterations as well due to the issues with the dress and the stress of it all - however overall I was happy with the service they provided and the fact they were willing to fix the issue promptly. I did find they tended to run behind at appointments (i often came after work hours which seems to be their busiest times!) however this was not a big deal for me. read more
