In addition to taking the time to hear my story and understand my foot battles and concerns, Dr. Adad set about updating my orthotics with a 3D scanner (a first for me) and also treated a small plantar wart I had right then and there. I had some pain in my heel lasting for a couple weeks and thought "let's get it checked out". Saw Dr Tim Young for a 15 minute, middle of the road appointment - he recommended stretching more (yes, stretching!) and to wear a foot brace at night. Ok, fine suggestions although pretty basic and to be expected. A few weeks later my bill came and I kid you not this is what was billed by this company: New patient appt: $330 Time for the visit: $180 Ankle brace: $480! Random charge I can't yet determine: $180 If you're counting, that is $1170 for a honest to god 15 min appt, where again the main recommendation was to stretch my calf more. Shameful and appalling. The orthotic Dr. Grabowski made for me are definitely superior. He actually still hand-crafts them instead of having you stand on a scanner. He also made some modifications just for my situation that make big difference, like a cut out in the base of the orthotic around the inside of my heel that acts as a cushion for my heel. He is also very knowledgeable about other foot issues, and has a great "bedside" manner.

They took this trip out of town because my family member wasn't achieving effective results, guidance or follow up with the surgeon in her area. She also regularly receives specialty care at UW but again, wanted to see Hubert Lee because his reviews painted him in a wonderful light. He was such the polar opposite of his reviews that, in their words, they 'felt like they got catfished by a doctor'. They were early for their appointment, my niece is an advocate for her senior citizen mother, they were polite and Hubert Lee's body language and choice of words spoke to both my senior citizen family member and RN daughter like they were completely wasting his time, acted as if they were weird for going out of their town for care which is common practice and the reason people pay high prices for flexible insurance. DPM Hubert Lee rolled his eyes, huffed and puffed, stared outside the window on multiple occasions not listening while my elderly family member was speaking to him, tapped his feet in annoyance and seemed annoyed by everything. Their words 'the entire visit from entry to exit was as if he couldn't get out of our visit fast enough'. Since so many of his other patients have had excellent experiences - this highly suggests he either discriminated against my senior citizen mother due to her age, was annoyed by them being female (sexism) or is racist. Or this man pays for some business promotion and PR firm that falsely inflates his positive reviews and ratings. They went on Mothers Day weekend hoping for a better experience as she's heartbroken with all the pain and loss of function in her feet. I can't imagine all his positive reviews are genuine and my healthcare provider family member said people should really stay away from someone that treats patients this poorly at all but especially in front of their own adult child. I explained that the break was straight, with no need for reduction or surgery, but just that the injury hadn't healed after several weeks. I was specifically looking to see if there might be a need for physical therapy since the toe won't bend, but we never got that far in the conversation. I selected this practice because of the listings on their website that said they treat sports-related injuries and foot trauma in adults and children. Also, when I asked if the doctor was accepting new patients, she said it depended on my insurance. When I said Premera through Microsoft, it was an immediate yes.
