**DON'T BRING YOUR MOWER TO THIS PLACE** Brought my dad's riding mower here to get repaired. I was not familiar with his particular mower just took his word that it would not move forward or backward. I brought it here because it was closer to his house. I described the problem and the guy (I don't remember his name but he was an older gentleman and he told me he was a Marine veteran) told me not to worry and they'll fix it in no time. A week went by and I didn't hear back from the shop so I called. The same guy proceeded to tell me that the differential needed to be replaced. He said a new one cost about $1200 but he was looking for a used one that would cost around $400-500 dollars plus the labor charge. I told him the mower was not worth that much and would just pick it up. He charged me $65 for looking at it. I took it to Master Power Source in Covington on the same day. I explained the problem and they took at look at it while it was still on the trailer. They immediately found the problem - the switch to the transmission was disengaged. I wanted to brag on Mr Jenkins, he is a stand up guy! He rebuilt my carburetor for me and took the time to explain some things to me to help me understand my lawn mower. I will use him every chance I get! His shop is like an auto zone for lawn mowers he has everything and will do anything to help. He is very reasonably priced and i really enjoyed doing work with him. I concur with some of the other reviews. Mr. Jenkins is rude and condescending. I took a rototiller to him to see if he could repair. After only a few seconds of looking at it, he proceeded to "explain" why it wasn't fixable (he spoke so fast and used slang terminology for things that I could not understand him). He then began trying to sell me another one of his. I felt he wasn't even trying to give me the best service possible, only to sell me one of his 1001 tillers he has sitting in front of his shop. The older man that runs this place is a real hot head. He prides himself on being a Military Veteran (as am I), but has seemed to lost all his commitment to "service." Mr. Jenkins (I'm assuming), belligerently spoke about respect as he said he would not serve me. He said he would not serve me because, after I stood inside his shop for what seemed like a long time, I apologetically asked if he wanted me to come back because I had a few other things I could do first. This is the kicker. He said no that's ok and excused himself from his conversation with the only other gentleman there. As we walked inside for him to check out the part I called ahead about, he did a complete 180. It was shocking. No harm done. I Called Ralph at Jenkins lawn mower shop and told I had a lawn mower that would not crank. He told me to bring it up there and he would check it out free of charge. I took it up there and left it. About a week later he called me and told me my lawn mower was ready to come and pick it the charge would be $275.00. I told him I did not want to put that much money in that lawn mower he said it would be better to fix it because there was an estimate charge which was not discussed at all. come to find out when I went to get the lawn mower he had already fix it. He said if I did not want it he would take his parts off and not put my parts back on. He would let me have my junk lawn mower back. That I was not right because I did not want to spend that much money.
