First of all, make sure that you get here with enough time before closing or you may find yourself chugging beer in a quite unpleasant manner to make use of all your tasting tickets. That being said, the employees are chipper and passionate about the brewery. The tour was short and sweet and the guide was knowledgeable. The size of the samples is generous (thus, the reason that I suggest you allow enough time to sip leisurely and pace yourself so that you don't leave the place staggering). The tasting room could probably use a few more tables, seats, and sources of diversion. There was an xbox but it did not seem to be hooked up or have a controller. There was a pinball machine and life-size jenga, but more sources of entertainment would have been nice to pass the time while tasting. Decent little place to visit. I had the evening free while in town for work so I stopped by. While it might be a cool place to hang with friends it's not someplace I'd recommend visiting alone. I missed the tour and enough people were not interested in the next one so they didn't do it again. They have a couple video games to (free) play but not much in ambiance. The only option was to get a 'flight' of 6 or 7 beer tickets and then try them separately in the take-home mason jar glass. The beers were mostly good, but nothing stood out to me. read more

You'll learn something. 4) there's a good selection of branded merch - if you love the beer, wear the logo. Their building is large with lots of seating. If you need additional distractions, there are TVs, a couple of video games, a ping pong table and a large Jenga game to keep you occupied. Most of the time there's also live music. That's out of the way, so let's focus on the beer: their Hop Dang Diggity (IPA) is a hoppy, easy drinking beer that works well on its own or with food. After moving to Georgia, my dad friends in the neighborhood introduced me to Jekyll beer and eventually took me to the brewery for a tour and beer sampling. I think it's like $20 and you get a tour, several tickets for samples (6 I think) which are about 6 ounces. You keep the glass and you usually get a bottle to take home. I love beer but I wouldn't say I'm a connoisseur and don't speak the same language, so I'm sure there are terms for glass and that giant bottle you take home with you. Haha. Anyway, there aren't many beers I've tried at Jekyll that I don't like (I love Southern Juice and Hop Dang Diggity) and being there in person to see the process of making my favorite beers is awesome. Love this place! Every beer I have tried here has been great and i almost never say that! I'm pretty picky when it comes to beer. It's also awesome that we have a brewery on the north OTP side of town! We love beer too! :) The only thing I would say is that I wish there was more seating. Jekyll Brewing was all an Idea a few guys made and stared a Kickstarter in 2013 . Alpharetta first brewery is located in a industrial office park off of Windward Park way. It can be hard to find since there no signs directing the actual location. Parking is not a issue. Tours and Tasting Room. 12 dollars get you 6 drinking tickets and a mason jar glass and a tour. 18 dollars get you 6 drinking tickets a 32 ounce growler to take home and a tour. They are open to the public every day except Monday. Hours varies and change often. The tasting room is almost similar to Monday night with couches and tables and games for individuals to play. Towards the entrance is the tap of beers . They usually have 8 to 10 beers on tap. The tour is unique and recommend people taking it. The tour guide was very informative and entertaining . The beers Again they have around 8 to 10 beers on tap. At least two will be a seasonal beer that they have limited batch. If you are lucky they may have a experimental batch that not sold in stores. Here what I tried and liked. Cooter Brown - its a American brown ale it consist of chocolate, nutty malts and touch light coffee smell. The name was a southern metaphor of drunkenness. Big Creek- is a Klosch Style beer . Its light beer almost a lager . Hop Dang Diggity - India Pale Ale. The verdict.. Not a bad brewery. Its small and slowly growing. Its only They are available major retailers like Publix and Kroger. And in Major Bars and restaurants in the Atlanta area. Jekyll Brewing has some of the greatest bartenders in the metro area and their beers are even better, which is saying quite a bit! They always have a great (and large) selection of beers on tap and each bartender is very knowledgeable about each and every one of them. This is a great place to unwind with a few friends after a long day. The ONLY reason I give this place four stars as opposed to five is the location. There are plenty of breweries popping up all over OTP, so being in Alpharetta isn't the issue. For me, I would love to see such a wonderful brewery in a more welcoming building. Being tucked away in an office park really dampens the great vibe that this brewery could create if they had a location that didn't feel like I was going BACK into the office after I've finished with a day at work. I love Jekyll and will continue to go, despite the office park location, but I would love to see these guys branch out and move to a location that better reflects how awesome their beers are! read more

The beer selection is good, and they have a couple of my favorite local beers, but why only three stars? Well, I've visited the brewery quite a few times, and it's the usual ex'beer'ience that most people get with a tour, tastings, and the usual kitschy beer-related games. I've literally seen this place grow since their doors open to now, where the parking lot is full at times, and the beers are found at more and more local places (grocery and bars), which is good for local business. Now comes the reason for the three-stars: I get to see the owners almost every day due to the proximity to me, and I know who the owners are because of their brodozers and how they drive. It isn't too much to ask that a local business owner be mindful of their local community, and the locals that live near you and spend their hard-earned dollars on their products. Most other people reading this will have no clue what I'm talking about, but please be more aware while driving the lifted trucks w/ JEKYLL BREWING stickers plastered all over. I am all for supporting local IF the business treats the locals like a true community. I'd be more than happy to spend my money here again, IF this were to happen. read more

This is a great place to hang out with friends and have some beers. We happened to be the first group to show up (right after opening) so we got to choose where to sit and what to do. They have quite a few high tops available, two couches, some arcade games, video games (Xbox), oversized Jenga, a ping pong table, and a stage for entertainment. The only thing missing is an outdoor area, but I'm sure they'll fix that over time. The beer: It was $18 for 5 tickets for sampling, a souvenir glass, and 32 ounces of any beer to go. They had Hop Dang Diggity (excellent 6.7 % IPA), Cooter Brown (excellent 6% Brown Ale), Major Horton's Export Stout (excellent 8% stout), Hoot'n & Holler'n (excellent 8.8% Double IPA), Southern Session Blonde Ale (I'm not a fan of this 4.8% Blonde Ale). For my to go beer I decided to get Hoppy Cooter, a blend of Hop Dang Diggity and Cooter Brown. It is delicious! The tour: This brewery is smaller than other breweries so the tour was me and my two other friends along with four others, which made for a great experience because there weren't too many people. Love the location: right off the Greenway. BEER could motivate me to ride my road bike. We were so inspired by the life-size Jenga...we constructed our own. Really solid beers - husband loves their Hop Dang Diggety IPA and I'm down with pretty much all the others ('Merican Amber, Southern Session and Big Creek Kolsch specifically and in that order). The tour (with history lesson) is neat. These guys are still hand bottling. Time to invest in a machine and take production to the next level. GO, JEKYLL, GO! P.S. Really nice folks working here! We wandered in here one evening on a friend's recommendation. I don't drink but I guess if I did it may have been a more enjoyable experience. The only option for non-drinkers is a small bottled water, but I suppose they think you wouldn't be there if you didn't drink. We were under the impression that tours were done frequently but apparently that's not the case. So we missed the tour and since the BF does like beer we sat at a sad little table (and it was cold as all get out) for 2 hours while he used his beer tix and mine to sample their stuff. There's not much else to say about the place. There's 1 sofa that was taken, a couple of high-top tables (the one we sat at was right beside the ping-pong table so I dodged balls for 2 hours), a slightly-larger-than-normal Jenga, and the afore-mentioned ping-pong table. I kind of feel like I just don't get it, maybe since I don't like beer, but I don't ever see a reason to return. It feels like a boys club so its probably a lot of fun for college-aged young men that enjoy sitting around doing nothing with a beer in their hands. read more

And I called them 5 times and left messages (I even called their corporate offices) and no one answered any of my calls or called me back. Jekyll Brewing has great beer, great people, and a great atmosphere. It's not as big and not as popular as sweetwater because it is only 3 months old. Honestly, I enjoy how intimate and laid back the atmosphere is, it makes the tour much more enjoyable!!! They are all extremely friendly and love sharing their knowledge about brewing and the ups and downs of starting the brewery. I spoke with one of the professional brewers Patrick for atleast 30 minutes about the 10 years he spent as an amateur homebrewer and the transition to becoming a professional brewer. It was great! They also have free pinball, giant Jenga, Xbox, nice flat screen tvs, a free truck racing game, and a stage area for a band (they do live bands Friday and Saturday nights). You get 6 drink tickets and a souvenir glass for 12 dollars. The beer there is excellent! I had the Kolsch Style, American Amber Ale, IPA, and Cooter Brown Ale. All of them were great tasting and the Kolsch and IPA were spectacular! One tip though, it is hard to see from the street if you come from Windward Parkway and take a right on to Marconi Drive. The only sign that I could see from the road was a tiny one on the door. It is in an office park so it doesn't look at all like a brewery from the street. What a fantastic place wide open, lots of room and even. Can drink your beer chilling in Adirondack chairs. They even had a cigar guy selling cigars to enjoy with your beers. Awesome. The beer selection is humongous with 12+ of their main line beers and around 20 non main line beers not sold in stores. I tried everything for brown lagers to IPAs to sours. Believe it or not I landed on the Coffee Cooter Brown. Fantastic Before we left we purchased a 6 pack, a bottle of their bourbon barrel aged imperial stout and a single custom can of coffee cooter Brown. The most friendly and knowledgeable staff. I started a new job in Alpharetta and noticed that it just happened to be very close to Jekyll Brewing. I have had their beers before, and enjoyed them, but I had never have made it to visit them. I therefore made a mental note to make sure to check them out. Fast forward to this past week. After a particularly long day at work, I was in need of a brew. And as such, it would be a great time to check out Jekyll. You can really tell they put a lot of work into their brewery, with s nice bar and rows of tables for additional seating. While they do not have good on premise, (well bags of chips I think) they do have menus from several area restaurants that deliver. The staff there is very friendly and willing to talk about their favorite styles and make recommendations if you ask. The brewery has several different beers that you can only get there. Of course, they have cans, and can fill a crowler or growler for you to take home. This may have been my first trip to Jekyll, but it definitely won't be my last. I look forward to my next trip. read more

I truly enjoyed this brewery. First I was struck with Georgia's archaic brewery laws forbidding them from selling beer instead requiring a tour that includes samples and a growler. This is simply insane. Despite the stupid laws, Jekyll delivers. I paid the fee for the tour and samples, and enjoyed it all. They have a 50 barrel system and 100 barrel fermenters - a big operation. The beers were very good. I especially liked the cooter brown and southern juice IPA. Best of all were the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. read more

If it were based strictly upon the quality of the beer, I would give Jekyll a higher rating. They have some very high quality brews. While they do what they can to make it an enjoyable experience, the local laws do make things a bit cumbersome, plus there is no food. You are forced in affect to purchase a minimum of 64oz of beer, and while the cost itself is reasonable for what you are purchasing and the quality of the beer is very good, you need to have more than just this option. read more

Josh is kicking ass at his brewery. I love the IPA as it is not an out of control hop bomb, but a well balanced, refreshing IPA. I love so far away, so I am happy to see his beers in stores now. The tour is fun and the people there are nice. They asked me to guess the three hop varieties and I got two of them right. It's all about the beer. I first tried the "Cooter Brown" beer at the Greek festival off Clairmont Road. Immediately I was in love with "Cooter". Drew and I went to the tour on Saturday. They also have tours during the week. You have got to see this place in its infancy. They actually have "people" who actually package the beer. The tour cost $12 and they give you 6 tickets so you have an oppotunity to sample all six which I did.. Of course, my "Cooter" is number 1 followed by "Big Creek". Drew is not a drinker so I inherited his tickets. We enjoyed the preztels by "Naughty" which were a great complement to the beer. I don't like preztels but I liked these. We later went to "The Diner at North Point". They sold the 'Merican Ale on tap. Yep, we stayed and actually ordered food with the beer. Yeah, I'm a fan. read more

Honestly, we had a really nice time at Jekyll. As we were cashing out, one of the bartenders came over and ACCOSTED us about why we didn't tip enough to his liking. Looks like Steve Irwin but with a hat but was SUPER rude, married and saw a ring on his finger (silver). I asked him what his problem was, and the actual bartender, Daniel, who waited on us was amazing. Unbelievable. Says he's served "high end clients" before. My ass.
