Why gas stations feel they need to become Sam's Clubs is beyond me. We stop here because most of the time the restroom is clean. Gas is high and the occasional I-5 dumper that will stink up the toilets causes me to only give this place 3 stars. Worth the visit? If you gotta go or on a clock like me, it might be the best around. Just be prepared to pay more for gas and occasionally overcome the stink of an I-5 crapper.

The bread coating flavor is basic/plain, probably good for a little kids, who may not like much spice in it. The dipping sauces had many options, but seemed ordinary and on par with fast-food quality packaged dips. The female attendant at the counter was friendly and helpful! Always a plus in my book!

The other gas pump stations belong to another gas company so you won't be able to use the app discount there. There aren't any signs indicating the gas pump division of brands so you have to remember it or ask the Shell attendant in the convenience store. This location is a bit cramped since there was some renovation happening in the commercial store next to it, which encroaches the gas station's space. But all in all, we got very cheap gas here as long as you are using the right pump number.

The c-store has a decent attempt at things, they guys are pleasant, and the pumps are easily accessed. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's a fuel station -- so good enough for what I needed it to be.

This Arco/AMPM meets this criteria of easy access and clean restrooms. As a bonus the gas is on the cheaper side in Buttonwillow and the AMPM has every sort of drink or snack you could think of. If you are near Buttonwillow on the 5, need gas and have to use the restroom this is a safe stop. Warning: be cautious of entering if the person in front of you has been in the restroom for awhile. These are private restrooms and entering after a long wait could be troublesome.

I was here at night so I couldn't tell you much about the shade situation. It's a busy space and it is located right next to a truck stop and the highway exit so be aware of transients and keep your doors locked. The lot is decently lit so that you can at least see what's going on around you and who approaches. There are multiple chargers here including at least two Level 2 J1772 and three CHAdeMO connectors.
