I got a little newsflash for you too self important bus drivers, like so many in the peninsula, NO ONE CARES! your routinely overly uptight, you like to put it on the passengers even where your own neglect of duty comes in, people say hello and no response and that's fine because as I said. your estimation that it's all on the passengers definitely cuts both ways. We need to be responsible, sure! But we're not responsible for you too, that's already your job to show up on time and the rest and not blame cast when issues arise for you with passengers from not doing so. Also, NITPICKING even WHERE the chain is pulled that's all just in general I always tell you ahead of time where I want to be dropped off at anyhow I'm NOT talking about stopping off exactly when I do so. My husband and I were visiting Port Townsend last weekend from out of town. We were driving on Hwy 20 and were stuck behind one of the transit buses. This was about 6:20pm at on a Saturday night. It was not raining, snowing, or hailing, there was no fog, and no snow or ice on the road. The bus driver drove 15mph under the speed limit, even on the straight away holding up tons of cars and driving recklessly. The buz driver also refused to pull the bus over and let people drive by. This was illegal and highly dangerous driving by this bus driver. When I reported this incident to this company, my concerns were dismissed and the driver was given excuses. The company apparently thinks that reckless driving is ok. I am so angry. I highly advise anyone not to ride their busses. I'd rather walk or call an Uber or a Lyft and pay more money. At least Uber and Lyft drivers care about the safety of the other drivers and pedestrians on the road. This transit company should go out of business. Horrible customer service. read more

I am slightly disabled and have voluntarily stopped driving for the last 3 years. Previously I have used Jefferson Transit for years and have always found them excellent and courteous. Now that I find their services necessary they feel like friends. I know some of the drivers by name and some by sight only and all have been great. I am writing this in reply to the review by Stacy H, I'm sorry for your experience, I have never seen anything like this in the more than 20 years of using the bus here. I too have had a problem with a punk teenager at the Sequim bus terminal but that is not the fault of the bus service or the drivers. It is the fault of the poorly raised individual baby child. Since the punk teenagers were smoking at the bus stop before John got there he could not have been aware of the whole situation. Again sorry for your experience. read more

Ive been using the bus system on and off for most of my 29 years of life. Today may be the very last day i ride a transit in port townsend. After being treated the way my family was treated today by john the bus driver. There were underage teenagers smoking in the bus stop and the smoke was going strait into my 2 childrens faces... My fiance told them it was a non smoking area, and asked them to move or put it out because we dont want our kids to breathe it in. We get on the bus and these teens get on the bus too and they are sitting there talking about us and they keep looking at us so my fiance askes them to stop looking at us because it was making us uncomfortable. John told my fiance that he needed to stop or get off the bus my fiance stopped talking to him. Me and my fiance were having a personal conversation and john told us to stop or get off the bus so my fiance, Told him he was talking to me, And so john pulled over and told us to get off the bus with my two young children on the side of a highway A HIGHWAY!!! I stepped off the bus to call the bus supervisor because i couldnt hear over the bus driver yelling at my fiance. John drove off and left me there when i was trying to get back on the bus. He drove off with my two children and fiance and made my children cry... My oldest son was crying because he was worried he'd never see me again. My youngest was scared and didnt understand why the mean bus driver would abandone his mother on the side of a high way. A HIGHWAY that has no room for walking on the side of the white line, Where cars are speeding past. I was having a panic attack while walking down the side of the highway. Clutching my chest, tears streaming down my face, gasping for air not able to breathe, not able to take in a full breathe. Trying to not get ran over by semi trucks and cars speeding past just inches from me. Apearently john was in a bad mood because he was stuck on the other side of the bridge because of the horrible accident on the hood canal bridge the night before. Thats the EXCUSE i got from the bus depot. Well i dont care what his poor excuse is for being a rude inconsiderate asshat. That he couldnt take the time of day to ask what the problem was, Or to even listen when we told him what had happened. We did not swear or threaten anyone. We simply asked them to stop. I feel like my fiance was being discriminated against because he is a bigger guy and has a deep voice, and i feel like they took that for him being threatening (wouldn't be the 1st time) My man is not an aggressive person, he is very shy and has very bad social anxiety so when he goes out of his way to speak, somethings up. We dont like confrontation, but we also wont just sit back and be treated like a door matt. Im not happy with the bus service. Sad to have had this happen. Sad that my kids had to go thru this. And highly disappointed that our family day was ruined by such rude uncaring people. read more
