Horrible company. Do not hire them. They poured an 11 x 11 foundation and built the stairs to it, and then they sent a carpenter with no experience in much of anything and certainly not in assembling an observatory, no experience with electricity or electronics or anything it seemed really beyond hammers and nails. After two years of trying to assemble the observatory (which Home Domes' web site says an average person should be able to do) he declared the project complete and demanded the balance owed. What a mistake to pay him in full. The cables that moved the dome's shutter where you point your telescope out to the sky, came off 13 times thereafter and the observatory never worked. I tried calling the owner, Levi, to discuss reimbursement when it became obvious to me that the observatory would never work and Levis refused to take my calls or respond to my many emails. The carpenter was in way over his head, refused to talk to Jerry, the owner of Home Domes, even though Jerry offered to talk to the carpenter many times, he refused to watch videos Home Domes had posted on their web site on how to install the observatory, and spent hours moving things around inside the observatory that he had placed in the wrong place or installed incorrectly and constantly blamed Jerry and Home Domes for all of the problems with the observatory and for why it never worked. I demanded a reimbursement and so far, CS Structures refuses to reimburse me. At one point the carpenter offered to disassemble the observatory at no cost but even after I had given up on the observatory ever working and decided to sell it, he went incognito and refused to even help me disassemble it so I could recover at least some of my costs. I guess I have no choice but to take this horrible company to court to recover some of my costs based on their breach of contract.

Detailed experience:…read more Last year I hired Brock Lisak to build a yurt pad on my property. After spending over $20k on the yurt pad, I had to disassemble it, I was left without a refund and Brock threatened to sue me if I reviewed him. Here are some key points of the project. 1) Issues of theft - During the project, I had provided Brock a photo of my credit card to set up a central billing account while I was out of town so he could get wood for the project. He provided that credit card to his employee who proceed to use the credit card to book equipment for jobs, buy tools for himself and materials for a drywall project for another customer. This is an ongoing matter, so I won't comment further on this topic. 2) Tools left out - After finishing the project, Brock and his team left my personal tools they used strewn about the project site. I didn't find these until the snow melted resulting in the tools being destroyed. 3) Unable to place yurt due to structural issues - The actual construction of the site was so bad that I was unable to actually put the pad to use. I have included photos of the job that show the craftsmanship. Brock blamed the poor quality on me, saying that I had micromanaged the project. There are footers that weren't secured to the concrete, the support beams weren't secured in place, they used untreated wood that began to deteriorate almost immediately and more. I have included images of their work here. This is just a small snippet of the poor craftsmanship. All of these issues were blamed on me by Brock stating that it occurred because I provided him the yurt pad plans. I finally tore down the entire yurt pad because I am unable to use it due to the pad being structurally incapable of being used safely. 4) Threatening lawsuits - After requesting a refund and being denied, I told Brock I would be writing reviews like this. Brock responded by telling me he would sue me, he was even willing to bring up the fact that I was having a new baby and a lawsuit could be damaging. I have included screenshots of this. 5) Promising a refund then not delivering - Brock stated that he would refund me, which he never did. Instead he threatened me and blamed the poor craftsmanship on me. 6) Attempts to defame me to my employees - My COO was managing Brock while I was offsite. After I had told him I'd write a review, he attempted to coerce my employee by telling him that I was not to be trusted and that he'd heard rumors about me from previous employees he spoke with. He did this unaware that the employee was telling me what he was saying while he was saying it the entire time. In total, this was an huge loss.
