Finding the playhouse was easy and it's a few miles from downtown Meredith. Parking was really easy considering the show was sold out and the playhouse itself is picturesque and charming. The theatre only holds a couple of hundred so it's easy to get in and out. I would highly recommend coming to see a show. The actors are professionals and each show brings a different cast. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

We love the Winnie. But last night was the first awful experience suffering through The Odd Couple…read more "Oscar" was a very good actor. But Felix played it Sooo over the top as to be repulsive. Nothing like the original tv show. Why he chose this, who knows. It didn't help that the whole first act was not funny at all. His acting made it torturous. A couple people walked out before the first act was done and a few more after the close of it. We were tempted but hung in. The second act was a somewhat funny thanks to more characters, but still...we couldn't wait for it to be over. The following is not a comment on "Oscar's" weight but on the impact of it. He is very large and reminded us all of Ralph Kramden, but larger. The 6 of us were worried for him when he had to run back and forth a little bit and was then breathing Very heavy and sweating profusely even after sitting a while. I couldn't stop looking at him as he sat in a chair, to see if he was ok. Every time he crossed the stage his weight was a distraction from the his acting and from the play. Michael plays many instruments and Kevin still has moves he demonstrated in Footloose. The Monkey was considerably more crowded (full- about 500 guests) than the previous time we were there. This time, we sat and ate in the balcony. The Flying Monkey is owned by the Common Man restaurant chain so I was expecting their comfort food to be offered. Unfortunately, it was more ballpark (minor league) type fried food on paper plates. Word to the wise, go for the movies and concerts, not the food. Plastic silverware and fried food is offered (service is pathetic). Management gave us a voucher because of the incompetence of the staff. The Bacon brothers are worth seeing so it was a nice evening. 4.5 stars for the show- 2 stars for the food. Live and learn!

The Ogunquit Playhouse is one of the original "summer stock" theaters and has produced countless musicals. The Barn players are primarily young interns - recent college graduates or current college students who are majoring in theatre or musical theatre, from schools with exceptional reputations for their programs (Dartmouth, The Hartt School, CCM, and Baldwin Wallace, to name a few). These young people not only act in the productions, but they also design and construct the sets and costumes for each production. Equity actors from NYC are also featured in productions from time to time. The New London Barn itself is the oldest, continuously operating Summer Stock theater in New Hampshire, a distinction which has gained it inclusion in the state's Register of Historic Places. Shows have been produced at the Barn since 1934, and many "Barnies" who got their start at this theatre have gone on to great acclaim in the entertainment business - Sandy Dennis, Steven Schwartz (famed composer of Godspell, Pippin, Wicked served as the Playhouse's Musical Director in the 1960s), Judy Kuhn (the original Cosette in Les Miserables on Broadway) and more! We have traveled to New London to see productions a number of times, and have never been disappointed.
