My 7 year old shitzu's skin turned pink and spotty and she started losing her hair after a couple of weeks and I was referred to Dr Dodds. My dog, Pepper also started smelling like a bad odor. After Dr Dodd did a blood test on her, she told me that her Thyroid was low and she gave her Thyroid medicine. I was s thrilled and thought we had found the problem and my dog was gonna get better,, but in a nut shell, she didn't!! We spent almost 2 years waiting and after yet another blood test,, No improvement!!! Dr Dodd had re-assured me that she had found the problem and I trusted her expert opinion. Finally, I took Pepper to Alice Villalobos in Hermosa Beach, who immediately told me that my dog was suffering from a bad SKIN FUNGUS and her condition was a 1 from 1-10 and nearly dying of it!!! She had lost weight from 11 pounds to 8 pounds, no energy, depressed and so on. To make a long story short. I was mislead,, and Yes, I know Dr Dodd has a blood bank and has helped many dogs but She DIDNT HELP MINE!! THANK YOU Dr Alice Villalobos!! You saved us!! I asked Dr. Dodds for some of the over $1000 I spent at her office for allergy test and etc back and she asked me to leave her office! Is that the right way to treat patients that put their trust in you? My dog and I suffered so much before we found help else where. She used to sit, facing the wall depressed for almost 2 years. It breaks my heart! I understand she's helped other dogs but she didn't help mine or even recommended to anyone else. We all can be wrong sometimes but as a professional, I know if my client is not happy, I have to make her happy or they will not return. I will post before and after pictures.

On February 16, 2026, I took my dog in for a rabies shot and paid a $65 exam fee. However, I felt that the doctor did not conduct a thorough check-up. The doctor checked my dog's heart and discovered that he has a heart murmur. He suggested that we do a chest x-ray, but I did not have time that day, so I asked to return on another day. The very next day, I called to inquire about scheduling a chest x-ray for my dog since we had just seen the doctor yesterday . I asked if the exam fee would be charged again for the chest x-ray, and the receptionist informed me that I would need to pay the $65 exam fee again to see the doctor before the x-ray. I don't understand why another exam is necessary just to perform the chest x-ray when we had just been there the day before. Instead, I took my dog to 5 Points Companion Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach, where he received a thorough examination. I was able to get the chest x-ray done there as well. When I asked the receptionist at 5 Points if I could return at a later date without being charged another exam fee, they told me it would be fine as long as I came back within 30 days. This experience with Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital has made me feel like they are more focused on making money rather than providing quality care. I will not be returning to this clinic.

They treated our fur babies with great care and love. Sadly, I had to say "good-bye" to my 19 year old fur baby a few weeks ago and they helped us through the process. We came into the vet 1/2 hour before closing and Dr. Vani told us to take as much time as we needed even tho they were closing soon. Our fur baby came back in a lovely cherry wooden box (privately cremated) with a beautiful paw print. Dr. Vani and her staff each wrote their condolences in a nice card to us. I highly recommend this vet and my sister is going to take her fur babies here, too!

It was such a painful and heartbreaking decision to make... but I'm so glad I decided to come here. They were able to get me in same morning with an appointment within 30 minutes of my call. They also made the process a lot easier and showed us so much love/support throughout our appointment. I've had my cat for over 13.5 years so I really struggled with this decision.. thanks to the staff and especially MONA.. she truly reminded me that I was doing the best I could and not to blame myself. The days and weeks following his passing I continued to feel a ton of guilt/remorse and confusion --- but remembered Mona and the empathy she showed me as well as the things she said.. which really helped bring me peace. I truly hope I never have to experience this kind of heartbreak again but if I ever have to make another tough decision for my pet or need to visit the vets office I know where I won't hesitate to go. Thank you all again to the wonderful staff at Boulevard Animal Hospital!

I brought my first cat to be neutered in about 2012. You have to call to schedule. He was in at 8am and by the afternoon. The wait times to see a veterinarian can be very long depending on how many patients show up. Appointments can also be backed up because of emergencies. I have an aggressive dog and they are very understanding about her needs. They also help pets having emergencies. Nobody is turned away. It was really hard to find any practice like this when the location was closed temporarily. I'm glad this location is open and I hope they stay open.

The biggest issue was the handling of my dog's vaccination records. We provided official vaccine records showing that our dog was vaccinated, but the clinic refused to accept them because their requirements were different from what is commonly accepted elsewhere. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and resulted in a wasted trip and a lot of frustration. The staff's communication felt unprofessional, and the overall experience left me feeling that customer concerns were not being handled appropriately. I would recommend that anyone considering this clinic ask detailed questions about their vaccination requirements before scheduling an appointment.

From the moment we met Dr. Ha, Dr You and the team, we knew we were in the right hands. What sets this practice apart is the rare combination of exceptional medical expertise and genuine compassion. Dr. You took the time to explain everything clearly, answer our questions, and help us navigate an incredibly emotional situation with confidence and trust. Just as importantly, every member of the team treated both Cheyenne and our family with kindness, empathy, and respect. My wife Jenna and I own a business ourselves, so we understand how difficult it is to build a truly outstanding team. Dr. You has done exactly that. Over a very stressful 12 hours, we experienced not only a high level of professional skill, but also a level of care and concern that made us feel supported every step of the way. We are deeply grateful for everything Dr. You and his team have done for Cheyenne. They cared not only for our dog, but for us as well. In a world where compassion can sometimes feel rare, this team delivers it every day. Thank you, Dr. You and team. We will never forget your kindness. Tony & Jenna

We came twice within a span of two months. The first time, they informed us that our 13 year-old dog has heart condition. They told us she isn't in pain and that medication would help. They warned us that she's in the later stages of her heart condition. They were able to give her an IV with medication and oxygen to help her. We asked if it was her time, but they said not yet. The staff during this visit weren't the friendliest. We took her to her primary vet the next day and got medication prescribed. We were told again that she's okay and it's not her time yet, but to watch for the warning signs and to prepare ourselves. Unfortunately, a month after the first visit, she had a really bad episode in which we knew it was her time. We brought her back and luckily the staff during this second visit were more warm and comforting. They confirmed that it would be best to let her go and so we let her cross the rainbow bridge. They were very understanding in providing us all the time we needed with her. They definitely made this process more comforting. One thing I'd say is that we were sad that they mixed up her blanket and so they had hers in the back in the wash. We asked for it back and they gave it to us wet. I was sad her scent was washed away. Overall, they provided a good visit for us. They have an online waitlist system so you can join earlier. They have some complimentary snacks and water. Also a name tag making.
