They are professional, friendly and always willing to please the customer. I used to work nearby here and would come at lunch or after work. It's not bad! Prices are cheap ($30 for gel manicure with designs, $10 color change). I really liked my purple chevron nails last time. They lasted a very long time and all the ladies are super nice. The only issue I had was they don't seem to have much experience with designs. I had to find pictures of the design I wanted and explain to them how to layer the colors with the gel so that the light colors show up. I came here because my sister said they just opened a new place by her work, she has tried out the place before taking me. Normally we go to Blossom Hill Nails, but stop due to their horrible customer service (long story short, they thought we didn't understand all the crap they were talking about us in vietnamese, but we did) Since that incident I haven't found a place that i loved. When i came here it seems like a normal nail salon, pedicure chairs on one side manicure stations on the other. a wall of nail polish with a variety of colors of OPI, which was definitely a plus. I got a regular pedicure with color and a full set with white tip my total was $42. the quality of their colors and the full set is really good. the full set didn't come off for 4 weeks, of course i took it off after it grew out. They do the nails to what you like, they don't suggest what they think looks better, which the nail salon i previously went to always did to me. The customer service as others have mentioned, is great they ask what you want and change anything you don't like about it. They don't talk in vietnamese to each other all the time, to interrupt our relaxing days. When they do speak to each other it's only to ask who is next. After my first experience i was in love with this place. It will be my usual now. The second time i went i got another full set, instead of a white tip i got a purple glitter. Their product seems to be more durable because up until today i've had them for 5 weeks now and still very durable. The quality of the gel nails is amazing. I've got mixed feelings. I got the same lady doing my nails as last visit and she deserves four stars. However, the other people who work here deserve none. From the time I walked in with my husband, we were given dirty looks and didn't feel comfortable. Why or what we did to deserve this? I have no idea. Then one of the people getting their nails done had a kid running around the shop tampering with all of the equipment, etc. It made me nervous. I left my kids with a sitter so I could get ready for a special event. My mom instincts had me worrying non-stop and none of the people working there (or the kid's mom) kept her under control. That was stressful and not relaxing at all. I hate to penalize the lady who did my pedicure by not coming back but this shop is just weird. read more

I arrived at 5 and every chair was full! But I only had to wait about 15 mins. Mind you they close at 6 on Sundays. They still took me in and didn't rush. I really appreciate that. This Mani/Pedi place is my go to! With it being less than 2 miles away from home, the convenience is a huge plus! Ever since I went to college, every time I'd come home, I'd get pedicures with my mom! Plus their pricing is extremely reasonable! All of the ladies are so nice and very willing to help you and your needs. There are 7 pedicure chairs and 5 manicure stations. They often get lots of business during late afternoons, so calling in definitely has its advantages! If there happens to be a wait, it'll take about 10 minutes for them to prepare a station for you. The store overall is clean and well-kept! The frequent buyer card that they offer is definitely unique to nail salons around here. After 10 visits, you can receive $10 off! Another unique feature to their pedicure is the scrub that they use to exfoliate the skin. I've never had any other scrub used at a nail salon before. They use it all the way up to your knees while giving you a massage. It definitely makes my skin so much softer after a visit! After removing the scrub, they apply lotion and keep massaging. Then finally the warm towel tops off the massage! Since my mom's feet are very dry and cracked, she usually gets the parafin wax pedicure. They apply the purple wax to your feet and mid-calf and wrap it in a bag. After they remove the wax into the bag, it feels like my mom has baby soft feet! The only con I have about JD Nails is that they're not very creative with their manicure designs. I came here for my prom and graduation nails, and they were adequate not out of the ball park. Past experiences were ok here. But today's manicure left me with a pulled and bleeding cuticle. The person doing my manicure was not gentle with trimming my cuticles and barely used any product to soak my finger nails or gels to soften my finger tips to prepare for her to trim. I began to bleed and she tried to hide it by pushing my finger into the towel to wipe up the blood. She then proceeded to place the stinging blue liquid that stops bleeding and once she was completed with the other fingers she never went back to clean up my finger that still had reminaments of my blood on it. No consistency = No good. I think Hannah did my pedicure a couple times. She's great as far as painting and giving calf massages. With her, I never end up unsatisfied. Most recently, another lady came to do my pedicure. I didn't catch her name but she didn't look happy. Seriously lol. What threw me off even more is when she asked, "You're an ABG huh" (insert insulting laugh here) Mind you, this is a lady in her late 40's and early 50's. I wasn't sure if I should take that as a compliment or not. I mean, I don't have an LV, the red bottom heels, and most importantly, I don't model at car shows. I don't even work at Viet coffee shops anymore!!! Anyways... Manicures! I always pick the same color for my toes and hands. Well guess what? They always come out differently! I always bring it up to them but have been told that they don't have the "matching color." Whomp. How about getting some more DND's or OPI's?! I usually dont have to wait more than 15 minutes on a busy day though. I've asked for ombré nails the last few times and it looks like there is only one gal that knows how to do ombré so they always assign her to me. Staff is friendly. Located really close to where I'm staying, I have, in both my experiences here, found the women to be both professional and polite. Not only that, but they are incredibly thorough when giving their pedicure. Listen, I'm not particularly picky when it comes to where I get my feet done as long as I can relax and that don't talk to me overmuch. I do like this place for the fact that I've been able to get in quickly with minimal wait and haven't once felt pressured to get a service I didn't specifically asked for on arrival. Their menu says that a full gel set is $28, but I paid $36. They gave me a story that that was the cost of the powder. Either way, the prices are deceiving. They play favorites here, you can be waiting for 30 minutes and someone more familiar walks in and they'll seat them right away (no, they don't have appointment). If you decide to go here, stay on top of them/ also make sure you block out at least 2 hours of your day because service is slow and they'll tell you it's a 10 minute wait but it's actually 20+. So as I'm sitting there waiting people are trying to pay and ofcourse I'm in their way. 9 stations open and they sit me down where it's inconvenient for me and the customers paying. Recently moved to the Santa Teresa area. When looking for a close and convenient nail spot this was the closest to my home. I came in 5/4/14 to get a pedi and unfortunately had the worst experience. I was give heel treatment, once that was placed on my foot I felt a burning sensation on both feet, when it was scrubbed off it literally took off my skin and went to the meat on 1 of my feet. I tried to tough it out but had to go to urgent care 3 days later. I was advised that I had severe chemical burn and a infection in my foot. Can't say the quality of the work was great but was decent, definitely varied depend of who worked on your nails. Yesterday I took my mom there with a prior appointment. I had specifically asked for two of the ladies there that I was the most happy with. With some attitude had gotten the appointments. We go there and one lady is busy. She doesn't even greet my mom and doesn't even look at us. I get seated. But I keep my eyes on other lady to see when she would even show any attention. After 15 min she comes and gives the coldest "hi how're you?" To my mom. I tell the one doing mine if she could do my pedicure first so it dries. She reluctantly says that she will only do my manicure and no one else is free for pedicure now. I keep seated. The other girl starts looking for colors for my mom, again with so much attitude. Mom asks for matching color. All of a sudden I get asked to move to pedicure chair! Lady tells me she will finish coloring my nails after someone does my pedicure. I was like?! No one pays any attention to me for another 10 min and I see she starts doing a new client's pedicure! What?! So I complain. I get the attention and she comes back to me saying sorry didn't know you wants some to do your pedicure. What?! Didn't I say I booked you for both? Then I'm told they don't take clients for both services as they need to rotate. So why do you lie and say I did not ask? As stressed and tense as I could get on a "pampering" day, she comes to first get my pedi done. Mean while, moms nails are done. She asks if same lady can do her pedi. She's like no. I will not! I was like well I made appointment for both services. She lies that no you did not! And you might imagine why we didn't leave the salon by now?! Cause the appointment was booked so late that we didn't have time to get out and look for plan B! Or else I would have left that salon after I saw them rolling eyes on clients with appointments!! Mom sits to get her pedi. She is asked to pick a color. She says well I want matching. They're like well we have no matching for that. I was like why didn't you tell her?! Lady is like she changes the color 3 times. I was like, so what? She asked for matching.... (What an experience!) mom texts me in the mean time that lets take it easy and she is fine to go with non matching just to be out of this salon. When services are done (and I feel I'm in need a massage to relax!) I go to pay. They used to give one stamp for each service. I pay for mom and myself and ask for the stamps. She stamps twice and is like, you didn't pay cash so you get two. I say why didn't you say anything? Ok I'll pay cash. Then I'm told they can't cancel the transaction...! Now I have 8 stamps and will not step on a single more time. Customer service is the first thing that you should teach your employees. Without happy clients, you can't sustain a successful business. I started to come here during my lunch time for pedi/mani! the staff here is really nice and friendly. the facilities are clean, they have a sanitizer, which was a big surprise to another customer (i thought all places should have one!). the prices here may be a little higher than other vietnamese salons, but i like the quietness and non talkative rudeness other salons do. their nail polish seem to last very long, i think its the top coat that keeps the polish nice and fresh for over 3 weeks for my pedicure. they carry jan marini eyelash conditioner ... which i must try, but the price is to cringe at $150~ ... suppose to last for 6 months and will make my lashes longer and fuller, so they claim. read more

She did a great job on my toes and took her time making the flowers on my toes and even put 3 little rhinestones in the middle of the flowers. Got a great massage and then she wiped off the lotion with a warm towel. Cost: $23. She also did my manicure. I did a gel shellac manicure and she did a great job. She took her time with my nails and I asked her not to cut my nails. She didn't, but once she got to my thumb nail she asked if she could cut it because it was a little longer than the rest and wanted me to have even nails. I told her to go for it. You get a massage with lotion and then they clean it off with a warm towel. Cost: $25 This place has the most gel shellac color options I have seen. I think there were 30 or more colors. first time here. i had an hr to waste before having to pick up my daughter on Saturday. went in and wanted to just get a pedicure on a Saturday at 11:30am. luckily, i didnt have to wait and was seated right away. totally loved my pedicure. the extra scrub at the end was a definitely PLUS! about towards the end of the pedicure, i decided to get a manicure and they were able to accomodate right away. another person came and worked on my hands while the other person was still working on my feet without me moving around. I went for a pedicure and it was not good at all. I did not catch the name of the lady doing my pedicure, mainly because she was all over the place. My massage was horrible because it felt like she was just rushing to get it done - she was just stroking my legs super fast and lightly. She started cleaning up the tub with one hand and massaging with the other, then setting up the station next to her while still massaging me with the other hand. I get you are busy, but please focus on the paying customer in front of you. The polish was sloppily applied like my child had done it for me. I had to go home and take it off and redo it. They are charging $18 for "spa pedicure" that last 9 mins. The lady clipped all of my nails so that she wouldn't have to spend any time shaping it (GREAT STRATEGY TO SAVE TIME). She was so distracted because they were trying to accommodate as many customers as possible. She clipped my nails so deep that I was bleeding. The massage was sub-par. I'm a new client, having gone to another salon loyally for five years - but I've moved, and changed jobs, so driving from South SJ to Campbell became too much of a pain, so I asked 3 random ladies in my area whose nails I admire, and they all three went to JD Nails (listed here as Lee Nails)! That seemed a good sign, so I made an appointment with Tam, who was specifically recommended to me. I need to explain I'd put off finding a new salon, so it had been slightly more than a month since I'd had anything done. My old set was ragged (mostly because I'd started picking at it) and extremely overgrown....! Given the state of my nails, I had to have the old set completely removed, and a new set created. Here are the topics that are important to me with a salon: 1) Communication - The person who answered the phone was friendly & spoke clearly, and I had no trouble making the appointment. Also, once there, I was able to easily explain what I wanted. 2) Price - I'm not rich, but am willing to pay a little more if it will buy me reliable and quality service. Tam removed what was left of my beat up crystal gel set, and applied a full new set from scratch at $33. It's not the cheapest I've paid, but by no means the most expensive either. Price is not an issue in my mind. 3) Sanitation of the salon - As a few other reviewers mentioned, the salon is noticably cleaner than most, and spacious. I saw the tech's walk to the sanitizer after every client - can't say I remember seeing that anywhere before. The bathroom was extremely clean, too. 4) Timeliness - I scoot out for nail maintenance during my lunch break, and this is a high concern for me. I was 5 min early, and Tam took me immediately. She removed my old gel set, and created a new set in precisely one hour. I greatly appreciate the speed of service! Tam did say they get very busy on Saturdays, so she recommended an appointment on a different day, if possible. 5) Artistry - I give Tam an A+! Again, I am extremely picky. I don't like fat or thick nails, I don't like it when the white is ridiculously far down the nail bed. I cannot abide by lumpy nails, or gel spilling onto my cuticles. And I really hate it when I have to go home & re-shape my nails because one is crooked, or longer than the rest. I was very happy with the shape, and didn't have to coach her much. 6) Pain - As I mentioned I had to have an old set removed. If you've ever done that you'll know that can be a really painful experience. Tam was extremely aware of my discomfort level, and proceeded slowly, repeatedly asking if I was ok. I appreciate that. Also, despite all that work, you'll see in my pics that I didn't get a single nick or scratch! 7) Quality - Since I had a full, new set applied today, I can't comment on whether they lift, chip, etc. As such I'm giving 4 stars now and will come back once I've had my first fill..... If the wear goes well, and the fill turns out nicely, I'll upgrade to 5 stars. As I said I'm extremely picky about my nails, but hate to have to repeat myself when making requests, so I appreciated how Tam immediately understood what I asked for. I came here because my friend told me about this place. I never can find a sterile place to do nails. This place is close to home and is clean. They have foot spas along with massage chairs. They even offer some special treatments for your skin. At the end of the pampering, you are given a stamp card and once you reach 10 visits, you get $10 off next purchase. The pricing of doing a pedicure for spa and massage treatment was only $20 when I paid. Next time I will try getting a facial and see how soothing it is. Another woman arrived and helped me (I didn't catch her name!) She repaired my nail and when we tried to find the color to match my other nails we couldn't. She looked multiple times to try to find one that matched but we couldn't find one. Instead of finding one that was close enough and painting the one nail, she put a new coat on them all so they would match. Then she only charged me for the nail repair!
