Wow! I had been on…read morethe fence about getting newborn photos. So many of the packages were out of our budget, and we didn't have time to research photographers. Luckily, we met Celina from Happy Alpaca a day after our little guy was born and were so impressed with her newborn photos that we decided to schedule a session with her when our baby was two weeks old. Celina is very easy to work with, friendly, creative, and personable. Plus, she takes great photos! She worked with our space and preferences to create really beautiful photos of our little family. She's a natural with babies, very patiently and intuitively posing them, helping with diapers and rocking back to sleep when necessary. We had some keepsakes (baby blanket, gifts from the grandparents, etc) that she incorporated naturally and beautifully. She even got some adorable shots of the baby with our tabby cat--every member of the family was included! I'm especially impressed with how well she captured our little guy's unique, funny baby expressions, the expressions I want to remember past the fleeting newborn days. I booked a newborn session with Anja on 9/19 for today, 10/4. It was last minute, as newborn…read moresessions go, so when Anja wasn't super responsive to my emails after we booked, while frustrated, I didn't think much of it. We had a 10am appt, and at 9:51am, she emailed me to say she wasn't coming because a. she didn't have confirmation from me, and b. she didn't have my address. I have every email we exchanged saved, and I have proof that a. I confirmed on Sunday the 1st and b. I had given her the address immediately after booking on 9/19. I immediately emailed her back, as well as calling several times and texting. I sent her the screen shots of these emails and explained, via all these channels, that I was heartbroken. I had gotten up extra early to get my entire family ready for photos, which is no small task when you are getting no sleep with a newborn and have a toddler to contend with as well. I was SO looking forward to capturing these photos, as my daughter was born early and was already on the "older" side for newborn photos. I still have not heard back from her in any way, shape, or form. So unprofessional, disrespectful, hurtful, and just rude. This is certainly not a woman who should be running her own business, let alone catering to brand new parents who are already in a fragile state of mind.
