My son won't let anyone but Seth touch his hair. Period. 10yrs old and he already knows what a good cut is vs a "in and out" place. I personally use Kevin and it's perfect every single time. Great cut. Great price. Period. read more

I went to JC Male quite a few times and enjoyed the cut I was given. However after 2 haircuts in a row where my time wasn't respected, I decided to move on. I had been seeing Seth and he does a great job with cutting hair. With my work schedule, it was easier for me to go on a lunch break. He was usually on time but then I went and he was a few minutes late, ok I get it. The next (and last) time I went, I sat for over 20 minutes waiting on him while watching him have a conversation with the guy in the chair. They were done, just talking. I was not acknowledged. When I finally got to the chair, no apology. I said I was about to leave since I had to get back to work and still no apology but was told about how that guy was a president of his own suntan lotion company or something. OK great, but now you're 20 mins late and waiting to cut my hair to tell me about suntan lotion. The conversation was overall awkward during that haircut which made me decide I needed to start my hunt again. If you aren't in a rush then I think JC Male does a nice job, but don't go if you need to be somewhere or back to work on time. read more

Solid spot for a haircut or beard trim. I've tried the chain barbers around town (Great Clips, Sport Clips, etc.) and this place is a much better option. You might pay a little bit more but the service and overall experience is much better. Definitely worth the price. read more

I have attempted to trim my own hair over the past few years. Before that I would go to some random haircutting place. Although I got pretty good at cutting my own hair after about a week my hair would look all nappy. Well my Brother recommended JC Male & I must admit it was kinda pricy. But it was for a whole hour. So my bro said, "trust me you deserve it".(Never ever have I been to a barber before in my life) I Booked the appaintment. Kevin C was the one that got me. So I must say, MY VISIT WAS SO WORTH IT! KEVIN NAILED MY HAIR, AND BEARD AND HE TOLD ME THAT MY GROW OUT WILL BE BETTER. And it was. I have had so many compliments since I went here. I plan to keep on going to see him. And I highly recommend you to give it a try. Itay just be what you have been looking for. read more

JC Male - Barbers Near Me - Johnson City, Tennessee

Very friendly takes good care of their customers The barbers take their time making sure you have what you asked for

Great barbershop! Danny is our go to guy, but all the barbers are solid. The shop has a great atmosphere as well.

My 5 year old son has received haircuts with Matthew and Nate. He always comes away looking dapper and stylish. They are very accommodating and professional. I like the ease of booking an appointment online. Their salon is very clean. read more

Went to see Danny today and he was great. Showed him a picture of what I wanted and he delivered. He was very informative and talked me through the whole haircut. Great atmosphere and good people. Only person I will get a haircut from now! Great experience. read more

Give it a rest, JC Male. You fancy yourself to be some "high end" establishment, but you have proven otherwise. Twice, I have called for an appointment, and have been told, "Go online, to sign up, and you will be assigned the next available stylist." WHAT? I CALL for personal service, and you can't be bothered to respond? The first time, was well before the pandemic. Also, I e-mailed you once - NO response. Listen. It is NOT "sophisticated" to treat potential customers in this manner. It is low class. If you want to charge high rates, then provide the full experience. First class service is NOT asking potential customers to "go to our web page." Seriously, I know that this is Johnson City, but even the hair places in the MALL treat a person better. Again, "aloofness" is not urbane. Get a grip. read more

Picture speaks louder than words. Definitely not the best cut for the money. My advice try someplace else. read more

JC Male - Haircut by JC Male - Barbers Near Me - Johnson City, Tennessee

Danny did an awesome job and I can honestly say after visiting tons of barbers over the years, this is beyond the best haircut I have ever gotten. For anyone who says it's overpriced, go get your basic haircut at great clips. My cut and beard took an hour and a half of quality work, so $45 for both was not bad at all. Online booking was very easy and I was able to get an appointment the day of. If you don't like that they don't answer the phone, respect that they are taking clients one after another. I also guarantee if you were in the chair and they answered the phone, you'd have something to say about that too. read more

Made an appointment only to be told it was going to be delayed by 20 minutes after I had arrived. Super unprofessional. No apology or anything. If you only do appointments only then you should value the client's time also. read more

Tried calling 2 different phone numbers for this company. No one would answer. So I drove to the location... Appointment only thank for answering your phone you earned 1 star for poor customer service and wasting my families time. read more

Cool spot! I believe they are by appointment only? Me, I've got a crazy schedule so it's hard for me to know when I would get a time frame specifically slotted for something like a hair cut. I know for many guys, haircuts ARE a priority... it just isn't for me anymore as I no longer have that luxury. I finally was able to make myself an appointment as I was download having a late lunch with some friends. My appointment was with Jason, though I'm sure you can't go wrong with anyone there. The care and time he spent on the haircut was very meticulous. Can definitely tell he takes his skill set seriously and proudly. Just like a true barber. I was very pleased with the fine tuned experience, and will sneak my way back in again once I find myself being able to. $25 was the tab, and I personally feel that for what you get, it's a bargain. In bigger cities, specialized barber shops are easily $40+ for just basic cleanup. Too bad I can't really refer anybody here because most guys who are particular about their hair already have their go to barber, but if you're in limbo or new to the area, definitely check them out! read more

If I could give no stars I would my hair was long and was going to grow as a perm but then he cut my hair into a bowl cut and now I have to grow it longer never go back read more

Excellent experience at JC Male with Nate! Cut and shave were great. Shop was clean. Everyone was chill and nice.

A hair and beard spa. Finally...a place you can trust with your manly assets. Make your appointment on line, arrive at the prescribed time and exit looking and feeling your best! Reasonably priced services, and conveniently located with parking out front. Search no longer for your man hair care....this is the place to go! read more

Kenny Kiser is the man. We took my two-year old son here for his very first haircut and Kenny is a natural with kids. It wasn't long before my son was laughing and having a good time. Kenny did an excellent job and my son has gotten lots of compliments. Because it was his first cut, it was on the house. That was a nice surprise. We enjoyed our experience here so much that I decided to get my hair cut here a week later. Kenny made me feel like a million bucks and was very attentive to the look I was wanting. He's a real pro, and I'm very happy with the results. Looking forward to going back in a few weeks. Overall, this is a great spot to chill, have some great conversation, and get cleaned up. read more

If you are a first-timer here, they will be too busy giving a sales pitch about their business to care about your haircut. I left with shorter bangs than I wanted and the back looking untrimmed. read more

haircut from Matthew. This guy gets it perfect every time. I wanted a short fade with a hard part and he nailed it. Definitely will be a regular as long as I'm in the area. read more

My son and I have had our hair cut here by Austin and he does a great job. Recently on a Saturday we went in at just a few minutes after 2 and there was a wait. They close at 3. We were told they could not cut our hair since they were closing. That is fine but I am a firm believer if you are in a business 50 minutes before closing, they should accommodate the customer. We went to a competitor downtown and were very happy. read more

Normally charges $14 for a regular cut, but sometimes if they seem popular (if theres a couple people waiting) or they just think you'll fall for it, they will insist that it's $18 $19 or $20 a cut. Their pretentiousness and arrogance just lost them a customer. read more

I was in search of a new barber and picked this one based on proximity to my office. It proved to be a great find. It is inside Lifestyles Fitness, but no problem to get through the gym. Jason is one of the 2 owner barbers. It was all new, very clean and reasonably priced. No more chain barbershops or salons again! read more

JC Male is the best in town. Want someone who takes pride in cutting your hair, the guys at JC Male are the best. Wouldn't recommend any other shop. read more

*Disclaimer*- This is NOT a paid review, I just appreciate good service and a great haircut! I have been going to JC Male for the past 3 years and can say hands down it is the best barber shop in Johnson City and the best barber shop I have been to in my life. Sadly, I will be moving away in less than a year and it will be near impossible to find a replacement of the same caliber. The barbers here really enjoy their craft and are always on the cutting edge of technique and style. I personally go to Kenny but I have been cut by Chase as well and have observed other high quality cuts come from the other guys as well. What I really appreciate is how they take their time to make sure everything is perfect and exactly how you want. I will say the walk-in wait time can get a little long but that is because of their popularity. However, they recently moved to downtown Johnson City and have expanded their staff so the wait should decrease but the quality will never go down. Go take a look at the guys Instagram pages from below to see their work and then you can call to book an appointment or walk in! 109 Cherry St. Suite 20 Johnson City, TN +1 (423) 794-6600 @jcmaledowntown @kennyraystylist @chasenthebarber @mbarbermatthew @haze_thuh_barber @old_dad_423 read more

I can only assume that this business relies on appointments for most of what they do. However when two chairs open up and are left vacant for 10 to 15 minutes I believe that is more than enough time to take care of A walk in. One employee completely disappeared upon finishing with his customer while the other turned his attention to his own hair. Needless to say I would never recommend Them nor will I ever be back due to the lack of professionalism and attention to the customer. read more

Received my first haircut here today, from Jason, who was extremely knowledgable and took great care to getting my haircut right. Was very pleased with the finished result. The atmosphere was laid back, and conversation lively. I would strongly recommend JC Male to others. read more

Ken and the other barbers at JC Male are exceptionally skilled, detail-oriented, and easy to talk to (but recognize when you're just trying to chill, enjoy your cut, and not talk). Plus, they're just good dudes. A variety of services with very good pricing and easy online scheduling are just bonuses. You'll leave confident you got the cut and style you wanted. I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone within even unreasonable driving distance! read more
