I have sent email after email inquiring about a paycheck that I should have gotten on 2/4. They did not inform me that the check would be mailed out. When I finally got the check they changed my rate of pay to $11.00!! It is against the law in Ohio to change wages for work already completed and they are fully aware of this, but they don't care. I credit this lack of service to the metaphorical barrier created by email, telephone, technology, and the fact that these "big" companies have such frequent turnover. My company was sold, the sales rep moved on, and I remember only having one individual payroll rep who exhibited anything top-notch from the standpoint of customer service. I've been working with HR Butler (both for payroll and health insurance) since 2008 and I can vouch for them, both personally and professionally. My sales rep has been in contact with me whenever I needed him since day-one. I've only had two payroll reps in almost 10 years and any oversights or mistakes that have ever taken place were immediately remedied. What I think sets them apart is the sincere care they have for their clients. If you're looking for a more personal touch when it comes to your payroll needs, I would absolutely recommend giving them a call to get a 2nd opinion.

They cannot protect your important financial documents! I have been a customer for over 5 years and have assumed SP was doing everything the right way. When I was audited for unpaid taxes I was shocked, but assumed my tax resource would help me make sense of the significant amount of money owed. SP never answered or returned my phone calls. SP sent me an invoice to get documents required for the audit. In return, SP sent me someone elses W2!
