Mat and I got married 6 months ago in September 2017, and from the moment we found her beautiful website & answered her thoughtful introduction questionare, we knew we wanted her to capture the best day of our lives. In the year leading up to our day, I followed her gorgeous Instagram and Facebook accounts, (showcasing her effervescent, light and whimsical art photography style,) and loved how she accompanied each stunning picture with a thoughtful and ernest personalized caption. I could tell she really cared about each individual couple she worked for, and poured her whole heart into her craft. Her process leading up to the day was very impressive. I unexpectedly received a gorgeous catalog in the mail complete with a large collection of her previous work, also including a thorough list of her own personalized tips for us. (And a sweet, personal mini bio about herself and her family.) I was also emailed a questionnaire to complete about what we expected of her on our day. The payment, contract, and email process was extremely professional and her responses were always very prompt. I would usually receive a response within hours. On our day, she showed up way earlier, and left way later than her scheduled times. She was a welcome and comfortable presence especially (and importantly) during our intimate romantic pictures, and gently guided us when we needed it. She also gave us space when we were swept up in the momentum of the day, and we seemed to forget she was there at times, only to be pleasantly surprised with incredible candid shots of those same moments. We had a very small wedding at a winery with only 35 guests, so we only hired Kayla, without a second photographer. And we can't believe how much she captured. She honoured all of our special requests and did a fabulous job. To say that we absolutely love every single picture she took would be an understatement. Her professionalism continued after the wedding. We only had to wait a few weeks for a handful of the beautifully edited pictures. I wasn't aware how long we would be waiting, (we wanted to announce our wedding on social media with one of the pictures) and when I emailed Kayla, she responded straight away assuring me that the wait would be worth it. And it was! We had access to the preview in our own personalized online album soon after, and the whole album arrived a few days after that. We still have access to this day. We have since ordered a few prints straight from our album site (the online order process is very user friendly) and the prints have all come very quickly, and have been very good quality. We are planning on ordering an album off of the site soon. Kayla is worth every single penny. She blows professionalism, efficiency, and artistic talent out of the water and has a very long career ahead of her.
