And if you have a specific style in mind, for example, a nice tweed, the the owner lady definitely has some kind of mental catalog of her stock. So if you feel overwhelmed, she can pick some stuff out for you if she has an idea of what you're looking for. Prices aren't the cheapest, but this place is a treasure trove of vintage one-offs if that means any added value to you. Also, no price tags. She prices items as you ask her. So when the Chimes came along, rather than fighting the much more modern looking competitor it just slumped into defeat and now is a bit of a sad shadow of its former self. It retains some of the old stores from its hey day, but for the most part, the bigger stores are in the Chimes. But I still like it, it was important to my childhood but the days of going to the back corner for Zodiac Toys to see what Thundercats they had in is long gone. These days of goths started hanging out the front I don't think they would bother to pull out the newly installed raises flower beds so that they'd have to move on as there wouldn't be anything to lean against. These days they'd just be welcomed.
