Fabian Furniture did an AMAZING job on two antique, family heirloom pieces of furniture. They were…read moreboth repaired/restored to perfection. One chair is solid wood, carved and was caned by my father. Unfortunately a leg got broken off when the piece was moved to DC. Looks like new, caning in perfect shape. I highly recommend. Not only did they do a GREAT job, they/Ruben is super easy to communicate and work with. I wish I could post both the before and after photos. I would use them again!!

I asked Fabian to repair a dining room chair that had broken into five pieces. He was able to fix…read moreit but he used the wrong finish. He only needed to finish the broken pieces but he even sanded and finished some pieces he didn't have to. By definition, a dining room chair goes with a set so it no longer matched the set. (This was antique and a family heirloom.) He was not able to acknowledge the mistake. He attempted to add some gloss but this was inadequate. I took the chair home, took several pictures with the matching chairs and emailed him in more detail about the problem. He did not apologize but did say I could bring it back in. He asked me to bring in another chair for comparison, even though the original chair had plenty of places where he could see the original finish and I had sent several pictures. So he put the burden on me to load two dining room chairs into my car and get back to him. He did not offer to pick it up. In the end, I didn't return. I thought the error was so basic that I didn't trust him to fix it. However, he did successfully fix the broken chair and, if you take him a stand-alone piece that doesn't have to match a set and you're flexible about the finish, I believe he could do the job.
