I haven't enough words to adequately recommend Paul Dauteuil and his crew. They painted the…read moreexterior of my house several years ago. My wife and I were very pleased, so after a kitchen remodel, I contacted Paul to see if he could paint the areas affected by the remodel, as well as the ceiling. Time was of the essence, as my wife was *very* pregnant, and due at the beginning of the next month. Paul was - as always - very responsive, got me a quote, and arranged to have the painting done by mid-month. This was much appreciated, especially since my wife delivered several weeks early. But Paul was not done with us yet: I took down some curtains in the main room that I had had painted. As a consequence some of the wall and some of the ceiling needed to be repainted. I contacted Paul, to ask what ceiling paint he had used (so I could match it). Next thing I knew, Paul and his brother were at my door, painting the ceiling for me and matching the paint on the walls. Paul even swept the floor, probably leaving the house cleaner than how he found it. Even then, however, Paul wasn't done with us. Earlier this week, I contacted Paul to get some help matching the paint he used on the exterior after having some work done on the house. He could have just e-mailed me a quick response; instead, he stopped by the house this morning with a can of paint, confirmed it still matched the house, and gave it to me. Can't say how much I appreciated the gesture - which is, as far as I can tell, par for the course with Paul. I've worked with a lot of contractors over the least 10 years or so. None of them left such a good impression on me as Paul. I can't recommend him enough. **Please note: an earlier version of this review was posted under Protect Painters of Lexington - which was Paul's company name prior to the beginning of this year.**

Marco did an amazing job painting our house. All the wonderful reviews about his great care and…read moreattention to details are true. I appreciated that he spent so much time on site making sure everything was completed to his high standards. He used high quality materials to make sure the house was smooth and well-sealed before painting. He was very careful with my garden, including hanging a special tarp to keep paint (and feet) off a particularly delicate area. He also took care of a couple areas on the house where previous work done by others was not as water-tight as it should have been. Since he is an artist and designer, I was also able to ask his opinion about which colors would look good where. Neighbors have said "I love it," "it looks beautiful," and "it looks like a whole new house." Thank you, Marco!

I live in Wellesley, and am a fairly frequent runner. As I run through the neighborhoods, I've…read moreseen the Harmony signs and Marco's van all over. And when I take a minute to notice the work, it's outstanding. I always made a mental note that if we ever needed painting, I'd reach out to Harmony. We had our house renovated about 10 yrs ago and the painters obviously took some shortcuts, so we had tons of peeling, etc. on our exterior trim, and the house was looking kind of haggard. We began gathering estimates, and included Harmony. Marco was quick to personally reply and gave us a very competitive quote, but his insistence that he would absolutely do the best job, guaranteed, really came across as genuine. We checked a few references, and he got glowing reviews. Fast forward, we hired him and they did an outstanding job. Unlike other owners, Marco was at the job every day, continuously circling the house, looking at tiny little details (that I would have missed) and being very critical about getting it just right. He went out of his way and epoxied areas where the wood was splitting or rotting. He nailed lots of things - trim, shingles, etc. - to get it just right. None of this was included, but he did it anyway because he's one of those people that is truly bothered if his work isn't just right. He would bring me out, and point out things that he had not yet gotten to, and explain exactly what he was going to do. And then he would do it. I saw him with a hair dryer up on a ladder drying epoxy that he had used to fill in a tiny little hole that I would have never, ever noticed, but that he said "just bothered" him. When you live in a town like Wellesley, many companies love to take advantage, and jack up prices and do a crappy job, assuming that "Wellesley people" can afford it, and are just too busy to really check out the work. That keeps homeowners on edge when hiring companies. But Marco immediately allowed me to relax, because he just owned doing the job perfectly, outright. Period. I would 100% recommend Marco and Harmony for any painting needs.

Additionally, he was able to clean mold in the bathroom and tune up the bathroom ceiling fan prior to painting. His team also repaired some exterior carpenter ant damage, and I was able to get pest control services in the spot needed thanks to his videos. Craftsmanship:Marco and his team do phenomenal work and do it right the first time. They always asked for my input when appropriate and needed and they work amazingly fast. Communication:This is a huge one for me as I've hired contractors who are unable to grasp the concept that the client wants their expectation set and met. This is not an issue for Marco -- he just gets it. He is clear in confirming the scope and requirements of the work. He always sets expectation around timing and price that are both fair and accurate. And, in the exceptionally rare case where something will not go as planned (perhaps due weather or other outside factors) he proactively lets me know. Absolutely unparalleled on the communication front. Pricing:You get what you pay for -- he's not cheap but not exorbitant either. Other contractors underbid him.
