Doppio espresso
Brad N.

This place is a nice little cafe nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas, in the home of the SFA Lumberjacks (Axe 'Em!). We were in town for a wedding, and dropped by for a breakfast sandwich and a refill on coffee beans for the AirBNB. I can't resist trying an espresso, so I also got a doppio for dine in. The espresso was well balanced, had a very clean finish, but was a fairly "safe" shot in terms of flavor, nothing too adventurous. It'd be great in milk drinks, which I suspect is the focus of most drinks sold here anyway. The drink and my sandwich to go were served quickly with a smile, and the mug I purchased with the bagged coffee was well wrapped and packed by the efficient staff at the counter. Definitely a nice place for an "above the average" coffee and experience, plenty of seating, and if you need a V60, Clever dripper, filters, or other gear, they've got a good selection of that as well. We'll definitely make a return visit before we leave town!

Delicious scones and a jackhammer coffee.

Love this little coffee shop. I had a jackhammer and a blueberry scone. The jackhammer is just the right spot of strength and a scone had delicious crispy edges. Will be back.

Starbucks who?!?! Java Jacks has and always will be one of my favorite go to coffee houses when I come to Nac! I just wish I had my own personal one in Houston! Their service is amazing and the ambiance when you're inside is top notch! They have and always will get a 10/10 from me!

I got the cookie butter latte/w oat milk, it is very good. The service was great, the place was quaint a good place to get a latte and a muffin.

I believe in buying local. However, "local" also must have a quality product. Java Jacks is both. Initially, this coffee company was started in Nacogdoches, Texas. They now have a location in Lufkin, Texas. They serve really good coffee. Everybody has different tastes and what they appreciate in coffee so I will let you come in and decide for yourselves what is best. However, I can say I've never had anything bad here. Also, the staff is friendly and accommodating for to-go orders that are larger. I often stop here and get the larger travel boxes for my customers. They all seem to like their coffee as well so I will keep doing it. Tip- They have an app if you want to utilize it. Bottom line - A local coffee company with very good coffee and very good customer service. What more can you ask for from a local business? I hope you enjoyed as much as I do. Bon appétit, y'all.

Java Jack's in Lufkin is conveniently located and we often stop by when running errands or going to appointments. The shop is clean and has a pleasant decor. The staff where masks. We usually takeout our drinks unless the inside seating area is not busy. Drinks are competitively priced. Restrooms are clean. Parking is ample.

Ice matcha latte with oat milk! My barista helped me with controlling the sugar level, since the oat milk already came sweetened.

I've been visiting my family in Nacogdoches for years and have always driven by here wanting to try it out. I finally did this July and I am nothing but pleased! I'm still a basic Starbucks fan but every time I get a chance to support local I do! I had visited twice, trying out their ice matcha latte and then an iced coffee on my way out of town the morning after. Everyone was very kind and really accommodating to requests I had as well as my family. I'm sad I just only visited them just now. I look forward to visiting again and more often during my trip duration from now on.

Outside pull up.

Very cool spot in E. Texas. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere just what the doctor ordered and the coffee was delicious. You know I am new to the coffee craze but visiting locations like this was worth the wait. I had the lumberjack this morning but will try the red dirt later so stay tuned.

The Best place in town for coffee!

Reasonably good coffee, good service, prices are about the same as Starbucks, some a little more.

My daughter had mentioned she heard this place had great pho so we looked it up and they happen to be open. It was good timing as the owner was about to go on a six week vacation to Vietnam. It's located inside the mini mall and you can't see any signage from the street but just walk into the area that says Rose's and you will find a store that reminds me aldi touch between a dollar store Ollie's. Just to the right inside the door you will find T's Sandwiches. No frills place here that is very clean but simple. This is certainly not the place for fast food, indeed many people called in and came by about 15 minutes later, only to still wait a few minutes. But nobody complained and it seemed like a normal part of the process. And everyone we saw come through we could tell were repeat customers who wished him well on his trip. Aptly named, the place really does some great American style sandwiches. My wife got the club and it was just fantastic, fries that came with it were amazing according to my college teenager who waited for my wife to finish and then devoured the rest of them. I asked the guy what the best order was and he said the soup (pho). My two girls and between us got the meatball, beef, and chicken soups. I thought the flavor was fantastic. This particular style has the grill flavor in it as he is cooking the meats on the grill and then infusing that into he soup for a wonderful, soulful flavor that I haven't had anywhere else and would also recommend for others. We also got the fried egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls, both of which were good. Slight word of warning as when he's cooking you can see smoke coming through the air and out to the open mall area so just be aware if you have allergies. The trick is certainly to put an order in and pick it up as he makes each order as it comes in and at times people waited for ten minutes just before he was able to get around and assist them...but again not one complaint! If you are in town and want a pleasant surprise just a few blocks off campus, meet up here. All that food, with bottled drinks added, came out to $60 which I thought was a great deal! This place would be worth a diversionary trip if you are in the area.

T Sandwiches is a hidden gem - a delicious Vietnamese restaurant located just inside the "Roses"…read moreentrance. Highly recommend the Pho (noodle soup). My wife and I liked the beef pho, and my daughter prefers the chicken pho. She says the chicken is tender & tasty with no fat. She also likes the spicy chicken fried rice, which is not actually spicy at all, but has a good flavor.

I had the BLT with the optional egg and it was okay, nothing to write home about. Coffee was good. Restaurant and toilets were clean and from the sign posted in the men's room, it is highly rated (lol). Nothing like some bathroom humor! Makes you feel like you're in a Texas country town for sure! My daughter and I were in Nacogdoches for college visit to SFA and we looked this place up in the hopes that we would find something different than a normal chain stop. It certainly is different and was exactly what you might imagine. Everything on the menu is decently priced and it seems that Tuesday is the place to be with short stack specials for $2 along with the weekday breakfast special at $6.95 On of my daughter's favorite meals is chicken fried steak and what better place to try that than a local diner??? Unfortunately it fell below expectations. The portions were quite large, enough that we could have just split a plate. The idea of sausage gravy on top of the mashed potatos and steak sounds heavy but also potentially fantastic. However both the gravy and the fry were quite under seasoned. I was able to fix mine with some cholula sauce and some salt and pepper was a quick fix as well for my daughter. The side of green beans and carrots she got were actually pretty good so perhaps there was just a disconnect in flavor at the meat station this day. I did very much enjoy the side salad I chose instead of the veggie medley. Came with home-made ranch which brought me back to my East Texas family gatherings with the freshly shaken ranch.....it was great. The portion size was pretty fair value at $13. Like I said we could have just split it between us. Very hit or miss flavors leaves this at a 3-stars for me. But no doubt some of the nicest folks in town work here.
