Based on our experience, we strongly advise against working with Jaus. He requested a deposit upfront but never completed any of the promised work. Despite repeatedly assuring us that the project was in progress, he consistently canceled, delayed, and failed to provide any evidence--such as photos or updates--that any work had actually been done. Over the course of four years, Jaus has made numerous promises to refund our money. Each time, he set a new deadline that came and went without any follow-through. At one point, we even offered to accept the refund in two payments of $500, but we still have not received the refund. While Jaus may come across as friendly and trustworthy, our experience has shown the opposite. He took our money and delivered nothing. I had a full kitchen and bathroom renovation. I also had my 30 year-old Ethan Allen dining room set (table and six chairs) refinished. The kitchen was a complete disaster! I provided the contractor with a full set of specs for all new appliances. When the cabinetry was installed, the appliances did not fit. Further, one year later the panels of the cabinets have begun to separate. The cabinets arrived full of glue and the contractor made no effort (even after several requests) to remove the glue. The bathroom cabinets were completed mismatched in color. The The sink is absolutely too high. Everyone who comes to my home comments on this. The contractor recommed that I use "his guy" for the granite countertops in both the bathroom and kitchen - another disaster. Nothing fit - when I complained about this, the granite company sent back a worker who proceeded to "push" everything into place. Needless to say, that did not work out. My beautiful dining room set left one color and arrived back another. the finish has now, after not even one year begun to peel!! I have made numerous attempts (also through Angie's list) to contact Jaus to absolutely no satisifaction. When he does answer his phone he promises to come and then of course, he never does. At this point, he doesn't even take my calls. Please beware - this was a $35,000 nightmare. read more
