They have terrible customer service. You cannot get a person on the phone. They don't return voice messages.

But I want to provide a public service here so what happened to me does not happen to you. I had an ear infection and made an appointment with Dr. Ariel Grobman. I was seen 40 minutes late but I'm a happy guy, and retired, so no big deal. The doc was in a rush as I tried to ask a questions and bolted out really quick after turning back and saying "don't ever use Q-tips!" - I could hear him say "goodbye" as soon as he stepped out - but I gathered I was his last patient and it was now about an hour over so I understood even if the feeling of being rushed and questions unanswered is not ideal. He diagnosed a fungal ear infection and told me he was prescribing drops, told his assistant to fill it, and rushed out. So, I then go to the pharmacy and they tell me Blue Cross won't fill the prescription as the doctor accidentally prescribed the lotion form of the antibiotic and not the ear drops version (the difference is they have different long Latin suffixes). I call Blue Cross and they explain that there are two forms of the antibiotic, drops and lotion, and repeat that the doctor accidentally prescribed the lotion, it's not covered, and the doctor should be able to correct it. I called the doc's office and leave a message for his assistant. I go on the interwebs and they confirmed there are two forms, drops and lotions, drops are for ear infections, lotions are for jock itch (external infections). I called back the assistant seven hours later with a detailed message. All this time the infection was getting worse. Excruciating pain has now extended to my head, jaw, and all the teeth on the left side of my head. I call on Wednesday (again, the appointment was Monday) and leave yet another voicemail. Finally, later Wednesday, I call again but direct myself to "appointments" and explain all this. I was put on hold and then disconnected. I called back and was ultimately directed to the assistant. I explain this to him and he says there is no such thing as ear drops for this medicine (the ear drops are "Clotrimazole" and the lotion is "Clotrimazole - Betamethasone" in case you want to check - the doc prescribed the latter though the directions are for the former ("insert drops ..."). I explain that Blue Cross and the pharmacist and the doctor's prescription directions and the list of drugs and uses on WebMD say otherwise. I also ask how I am to get a lotion into my inner ear. He then asked me whether it was powder and how thick it was so that maybe I can get it in a dropper (I am neither kidding nor lying). I ask to speak to the doctor and he says the doctor is busy and repeats that maybe I should try a dropper. I, increasingly frustrated, point out that he claimed it doesn't exist, he doesn't know if it is powder nor lotion, that that insurance and the pharmacist said it was a mistake, that it's not liquid, that I don't have it because the mistaken medicine is not covered, and I am simply trying to get the mistake corrected. He then said "maybe you should try a Q-tip." I admit I raised my voice in asking to talk to the doctor. I try to never do so, but I was in pain. But I did not swear, nor insult him. I am not that type. Doctor Grobman then did in fact come to the phone - it was too quick for him to be given any of these facts - and simply said "you don't ever talk to my assistant with disrespect." I got through "I don't know how to get the medicine in my ear ..." before he cut me off with a "use a dropper! Good day!" and hung up. Mistakes happen. I get that. That's why it's important to return calls, to train assistants not to cover their errors by making up facts about the existence of medicines, and not to blather about using fingers and Q-Tip's to administer alleged eat medicine, and for the doctor to make sure he understands the problems first hand instead of listening to his employee's self-serving summary of any conflict. Each word is the truth. I could have embellished. I did not.

That is one thing I like about Dr. Singer. He does not schedule you for unnecessary follow ups as some physicians do. If he can diagnose and fix the problem in one visit, he will. Also, unlike many surgeons, Dr. Singer sees surgery as a last resort. When my son was young, we saw Dr. Singer as a second opinion after anothrr pediatric ENT had recommended surgery for my son. Obviously, after 9 years, it was not needed. Dr. Singer has two offices, one in Hollywood and one in Weston. Both run very smoothly without much of a wait. The staff is cheery and helpful Dr. Singer is a great diagnostician. He will explain everything in simple terms for both the parents and kids. If he scopes the child in the office, he talks the child through it so they are not scared. He will also let the parent look through the scope. One of the best things about Dr. Singer though is his bedside manner. Dr. Singer is kind, funny, and just goofy enough to entertain the kids. Hopefully, your child will never need an ENT, but if they do, you will be in great hands with Dr. Steven Singer.

So glad we were! We went to his Hollywood location, which is at Joe DeMaggio hospital. Parking is right there and only $1 an hour. Wait time was not bad and they show kids movies in the waiting room. We were then moved to an exam room that was decorated with Mickey Mouse stuff. And that's when the fun began! Dr Singer has a sense of humor that is a little out there, which to me is the best kind of humor. This included teasing my daughter and asking me if I smoke crack. Trust me, the convo was highly entertaining (as evidenced by the amount of likes and comments I got on facebook when I wrote it out). In addition to being funny, he is also a great dr. He gave the daughter a thorough exam and explained everything to us in language we understood. We came up with a solid game plan to move forward, which actually doesn't include him, as he doesn't rush to do surgeries. When we went to leave the daughter was invited to go to the desk drawer and choose a lollipop and sticker. I received an email within an hour of appt welcoming me as a client and sharing info on how to use their on line portal. We hopefully won't need to see him again, but I would definitely recommend him

I've been allergic to cats my entire life…read more My eyes would get irritated around them, my throat would start to scratch, and my nose would get so stuffy I could not sleep. I don't have the time to get allergy shots once a week or even once a month, I'm too busy. As a result, I've never been able to be comfortable around pets. I found Dr. Fass in 2013 and he prescribed me immunotherapy drops for cats, dogs and dust. Three drops under the tongue for two minutes, twice a day, and now I can continue watching all of my friends pups painfree. Can not say enough about how much this has helped cure me of my allergies, except that it is life changing. Thank you, Dr. Fass!

Basically, I spent most of 2011 sick as a dog. I would have a chest cold for a couple weeks, get better, then get strep throat, then get better, then have the flu AND strep thraot, and on it went. Finally, I figured I had to do something, so I sucked it up and went to go see an ENT. Even though I really wanted to take my tonsils out, he referred me to Dr. Fass because he felt I might have allergies, which I never knew could cause so many other problems. Ever since I've been working with him my health has dramatically improved. I found out I have allergic asthma and together we've been working on different medications to treat and control both. Aside from the fact that he's very knowledgable, he's also very patient and really works to understand you, and then to help you understand your condition. My one gripe: Appointments there take a very long time. The last time I was in the office I had to listen to someone complain about it for a half hour. Honestly, I know this is the case at most doctors, and I don't much mind the wait but I know some people do (and that you may be subject to someone else's complaining because of it). Tip: If you're thinking of doing allergy shots but want something less intrusive, consider allergy drops instead. I mention it because this doctor is apparently one of the only ones who offers this particular treatment.

It took me 6 months to get my $1,500 deductible back from SF ENT after I had sinus surgery. They collected the deductible before the surgery, but it was applied to the anesthesiologist's bill. I had to pay another $1,500 to the anesthesiologist to avoid going to collections and then fight with the billing office of SF ENT to get the other $1,500 they weren't entitled to back from them. It took countless calls, documentation, letters, the insurance carrier calling and writing them, and me finally threatening small claims court before they finally refunded it. I even had someone in the billing office outright lie to me about their title and level of authority. Dr. Kleidermacher's staff is beyond unbelievably rude. They will put you on endless hold, disconnect you, not answer your questions, give you bad information, argue with you, and God-forbid should a situation arise where an apology is in order.
