My grandpa ate their the other day and he said he could see the ice station and their was bags of ice on the floor and he watched them stepping on it and the waiter grabbed them off the floor and dumped them in the ice machine and dumped a bag into a bin and got ice for customers out of the dirty ice. My wife and I have frequented this restaurant for the past 4 years, and it was without a doubt, the best chinese buffet in Columbia. Lately, they have been falling off, and will sometimes have no vegetables, wow! But, overall it is a good buffet at a decent value. Very clean and organized. Definitely a good buffet! Collectively, I've been here about 4 times in the last 3 months. Once at lunch, once around 3, and twice during regular busy dinner hours. Hostesses and servers are always nice! The make-you-own hibachi is always tasty and it doesn't every come out "oily" like with some other places. Decent sushi selection! Went there for lunch once it was good buffet food. Lots to choose from. You definitely pay a little high of a price but it's a buffet price for sure. Make sure you come hungry. I would go back. Better than most typical buffets. read more

We just moved to Columbia and this is the best Chinese buffet so far. The sushi was very good and the cook at the stir fry station was absolutely perfect. Alot of my husbands co-workers have been raving about Jasmine Buffet for a while, so we decided to try it out. Very clean & modern inside. Lots of tables & booths. Alot of great food choices even for vegetarians. Hubby got the beef stir-fry (made in front of you). He went back for seconds. I had the fish & selected my hot vegies & noodles. Very nicely cooked. Very tasty & fresh. All food was piping hot, (not midly warm like some other buffets). Great options even for kids or picky eaters. They even had Mac & Cheese & Garlic Bread on the buffet. (Not something you usually see at a Chinese Buffet, but good to see they are offering additional popular options). They have a separate Sushi station & Soup bar. They also have a desert bar. They offer the usual Soft Serve machine, but they also have trays of little mini cakes & pies. Very friendly service, lots of parking & excellent choices on the buffet. We will definitely be coming back with the kids. It works out cheaper than taking your family to a restaurant, plus you get to build your own plate & you can go back for seconds.....or thirds. :) read more

Well considering the options here in Columbia SC. This is the place to eat for buffet. The amount of food on this buffet is very impressive and the taste is also impressive. I have eaten here three times and they all where very good. I would suggest this place to anyone that loves American style Chinese food. This place also had food that the little ones can eat like mac n cheese, fried chicken, jello, and ice cream. When it come to the rest of the food I will have to say it all is very good. This is not some place that you would want to go for a candle lit dinner, because you would need a wheel chair to get out of this place at the end of the date. You will be full when you leave so make sure you have nothing else planned after you eat here. There is plenty of seating but it seems to be packed all the time so make sure you get there early for the lunch and dinner crowds or you will be waiting. We went to Jasmine Buffet and just so happen there was some friends we knew there so we my wife & I set with them I get the bill and there's a $3.00 tip charged on my bill I was told sense there was 7 or more people @ the table they charged the tip on everyone's bill that's BS!!! we didn't even know these people was there. So the next time you go to Jasmine Buffet set @ separate tables we won't be going there anymore!!!! read more

Just now had the lunch buffet. Yes, the decor is very nice and the place is clean. The price has increased slightly, now $8.79 plus tax. Since that includes the cook-to-order hibachi grill and sushi bar, I consider it a good value. The lunch buffet is good but nothing exceptional. Boiled shrimp on ice is a nice plus. read more

I love the grill at Jasmine and eat there quite often but the last two times I arrived just after 11:00 and stood and waited at the grill for someone to start cooking. Today I waited until 11:30 and said to hell with it and left. The employees saw me standing there waiting and not one person offered to help me. There was even an employee standing behind the counter who never spoke to me or offered to tell me when the grill would be open. Pretty poor service for a place with such great food ! I'm not a big buffet fan but something about the outside appeal of the Jasmine Buffet on Two Notch Rd. here in Columbia, SC lured me in. Okay, I guess the big sign I often saw out front advertising their steak and shrimp had a little to do with it too. About three weeks ago my fiancé and I finally gave them a try and were pleasantly pleased. First you walk in and the overall ambiance is pretty striking for what you'd expect for your typical buffet-style restaurant. There is I believe, an elegant chandelier just beyond the entry-way; the subtle lighting is quite inviting. My opinion of the food is that it was very appetizing. Also, the selection was substantial. They offered an array of Asian cuisine that would definitely compete with some of the other Asian restaurants in the area. Specifically, the sesame chicken, crab rangoons, sweet & sour chicken, and the apple strudel dessert were all delicious. And, yes, that steak and shrimp were also a thumbs-up. Although I did see the hibachi grill and selection of sushi, I did not, on this visit, partake. But I did not observe any of the unsanitary practices expressed by some of the others on this site either. My overall experience based on my first visit was the restaurant was very clean and even though busy, it was very spacious. The service was pretty average, the servers didn't bother us constantly, nor did they do anything extra. The atmosphere is suitable for families; adult and/or children. Both the food and experience were enjoyable. I would recommend this place. read more

i had the worst visit ever today at jasmine. the waitress assumed my party and i were done eating she brought the check. i placed my card on the ticket and she took it ran my card then came back 5 minutes later to tell me that we could no longer eat from the bar because it was now 4pm. had she told me i would not have had a problem paying the price because we were there to eat. so i asked why didn't you charge for dinner prices when you took my card she stated she thought we were finished. i asked why didn't you just ask before you took my card so that the appropriate amount could be charged. she then goes to get the english speaking greeter who was very rude and rolling her neck and tells me that she didn't know that my party was still eating and mind you we had not been there 30 minutes.......needless to say i was embarrassed and i was told that there was no manager there for me to address this issue. i will never set foot in jasmine again all behind a few extra $ for fried crabs and crawfish that's added to the bar at dinner time....totally no customer service skills implemented in this establishment!!! read more
