Honestly, what a surprise! Did not realize that this beautiful garden existed in the middle of the Atocha Renfe station. As you walk in, it's gorgeous and right front and center in the station! Train stations can be a mega waiting game, so it's nice to have something to do there. read more

An amazing use of otherwise empty space, the tropical garden of the Atocha Station is a destination by itself. Beautiful landscaping regardless of weather. There are a few paths through the "jungle" and several benches where you can sit and appreciate the trees as you wait for your train to board. There were a number of people painting today. Very cool. The garden was closed off, where you couldn't see the turtles. I rated two stars because the tropical plants were nothing but the very typical monstera, banana and palms- not impressed to say the least. Although, it's a cooling spot and many people are waiting here with their luggage... read more

Located inside the Atocha train station, Jardín Tropical is a surprise to the senses. You don't usually expect to see a full grown garden inside your metro station. I absolutely loved it though because there were hundreds of turtles swimming in the water, climbing on rocks, and living their best life. It was always so fun to take a look and have some entertainment. This would be a fun spot to take a kid for a free activity. I wouldn't go out of your way to visit this spot, but if you do get off at this stop, take a look! read more
