We used a Garmin GPS to get here but walkable from the port (if you are used to walking any distance at all). I was surprised to see some of the roses in full bloom still in early November but maybe the weather is such that they bloom all year. However, a few looked as though they'd shut off. There is a lily pond at one end (very small) and one homeless person sleeping on a bench not far down the north side of the roses. The gardens extend upward and change from the roses to other plants and trees. It's well worth your time to come here and walk through it. I enjoyed it. Plus if you climb the hill of the gardens, you get some spectacular views!

It has been beautifully planned, laid out and well kept with different types of flowers mostly known for roses, a Lilly pond and a long water front facing the Town Hall (which is next to the University of Malaga). In the middle of the Jardine (Garden) is a statue of a man, wish I knew the history here! What to do here? Relax with a coffee or other drink in hand, have a snack or enjoy the peacefulness of the Jardine (Garden). Now sit on the bench, kick back and soak up that Malaga warmth.

It looked like something forgotten in time. Entry signs had graffiti, an old cafeteria was closed down, there was no one else in the place except for myself. It has possibility but no strong focal points that are very enticing or beautiful. Even the Cordoba courtyard/patio display was weak. They need to make a real wall with a big display of color and a strong focal point. The local's homes I visited in Cordoba blew this one away. It's a nice, green area to get away from the city but that's it. Cordoba needs to get some volunteers in there and spruce it up fast or I can see this garden fading away.
