Ordered: Bento (285 SEK): vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura,…read morebeef roulades, salmon/tuna sashimi, and 2 pieces nigiri (salmon and shrimp) and 1 piece California roll with seaweed salad, ginger, wasabi, and lime; served with white rice, salad, and miso soup Aya's take: WOW. I had low expectations about Japanese cuisine in Gothenberg but MMMM blew me away. This is by far the best bento box I've ever had! It was everything I could want. It had a fried option, a fresh option, a flavorful option - all around an amazing dish. The tempuras were all cooked perfectly - crispy and light. The sushi could have been fresher but again, amazing execution so I can't complain. I was shocked at the beef roulades. The most tender bites that melted in my mouth! Overall, absolutely delicious and despite getting lost on my way here, I'm so glad I found my way and stopped by. Do yourself a favor and get the Bento!

This place is a gem! We were hankering for something fresh, warm, and light nearby our stay in…read moreGöteborg, and the internet's promise of hot udon led us to Mikado. We eat a LOT of Japanese food in the States, and with that prior experience, here's what stands out: The portions are super generous. When our server brought the food, she mentioned she assumed we are sharing. We were expecting smaller, one person portions but the sashimi and udon in particular were huge. Both the sashimi and gyoza meals came with miso, salad, and rice, too. The sashimi was very generous with salmon, which is usually the fish we find ourselves wishing we had more of, so that was a nice surprise. The service goes out of the way to be child friendly. They surprised us with an extra, kiddo friendly salad on the house for our 4yo child, and at the end of the meal offered her a free scoop of ice cream. This was super kind and our daughter loved both! The flavors are fresh and unique. Even the salad was more interesting than typical for a meal set - a balance of slightly spicy and tart,,filled will a mix of greens, corn, edamame, several seaweeds, and cucumber. The gyoza came with a dipping sauce that seemed like it might contain Szechwan pepper - I felt like I noticed a few Chinese culinary influences in the seasoning and techniques - which worked really nicely. The seafood in the udon tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked - some of the best I've had. We loved the gyoza too - the wrappers were tender and the fillings flavorful - everything seemed really well executed. The server mentioned this was Göteborg's oldest sushi restaurant - we can see why!

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and this is my favorite in Gothenburg…read more I often choose the Dim sum combo which is composed of 5 dishes, each full of flavour. The chef has managed to find a fantastic harmony out of flavour I am not used to. My favorite is the spring roll from shiitake mushroom and many other herbs wrapped into a lettuce leaf, the mix of flavour is just breathtaking. As far as the rest goes the place is clean the atmosphere very good (somehow the decor matches very the menu but it's hard to explain). Overall I would recommend this place to anyone.

The food is so called Asian fusion - mix of Japanese, Korean and Chinese - but not the Chinese you know. Dumplings and Dim Sum - not fried shrimps, chicken or banana. It is very tasty, beautifully served and I would suggest ordering one of the sample menus for best experience. I find it a bit on the pricey side (250SEK for 9 pieces when having the sample dish) but if you are looking for a different Asian experience I would recommend you to go here. Friendly staff, but a bit inattentive. Save some in your glasses before asking for the bill. Remember to sharpen your chopstick skills! They accept AMEX.

We didn't have a reservation and were told it would be a 40-minute wait. We sat at the bar while we looked for other potential dinner places but luckily 10 minutes later, they were able to give us a table. To start, the Virgin Mango Mojito was delicious! It had a good balance of mango, mint, and lemon flavors. The Amoshi Roll was probably the best thing I had. The Dynamite Shrimps were massive. I think medium-sized shrimp would have done better in the coating and sauce used. The fried coating was a bit thick for me; on top of the jumbo shrimp used, it just didn't come together well. The flavor was otherwise pretty good! XXX. The 14-pc Nigiri Omakase was presented well but the fish wasn't the freshest. For an omakase-style meal, I expect the various fish to melt in your mouth almost. The amount of rice was also excessive so I found myself just eating the fish on top like sashimi. Cute and romantic ambiance, decent sushi quality, and pretty filling overall.

I ordered the Ramen and loved it so much that I already knew I would be back for more. The down side was the staff. Pretty girls that act as if they hate their job. I came back a few weeks later with my husband and daughter and ordered sushi, rolls and the snack mix. It was all good but nothing like the ramen. It was a bit under seasoned but it was still ok. However, the girl that was waiting on us.. Jezuzzz... so rude and just seemed to hate Amoshis. I honestly don't understand how they keep these girls when they never say "Hi, welcome, thank you or even smile". Idk if I'll be back. It's good food but I'm not sure I want to give my money for such an experience. Maybe takeaway is better.

In sum: The cutest little sushi restaurant with the most affordably priced (and tasty!) sushi I've…read moreEVER seen. The sushi itself is so good. I got the 15 piece sushi arrangement the first day and was blown away by how good the sushi was given how cheap it was -- I don't think I've ever seen a comparable price in the States. The fish on the nigiri -- especially the salmon -- tasted super fresh, and I was so pleased with the maki as well. A little embarrassing but I had to come back the next day and got the vegetarian sushi platter, and it was SO good. The tofu/inari sushi was arguably the best kind I'd ever had, and their tamago was so good as well! Both came with a little self-served miso soup which was actually really good compared to some others I've had at sushi restaurants, and the chili oil in it was divine. (I put the chili oil in my soy sauce the second time since I wanted to spice the sushi itself up a bit and it was so good as well!) The staff are also really friendly! The lady that helped me both days was an angel, and even though there was a bit of a language barrier given I don't speak Swedish, her friendliness transcended spoken language. Very helpful and sweet! I've only been for lunch, and both times the food came out super quick as well. Absolutely love this place + would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite of sushi while in Göteborg!

They have also started making traditional, hand made dumplings there too; both meat and veggie. OMFG are they good! I've had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner once. If you're in the hood, drop in for the dumplings and free socks. Seriously!
