In the area for disaster relief duty the following Hurricane Florence, I found the need to buy some new slacks. They were too long, but rather than shorten them with iron-on tape (a temporary fix at best), I went to Jan's. The lady told me they'd be ready in two days, but wouldn't you know that the very next day I was redeployed. I went to Jan's to collect my slacks, figuring I'd have them done somewhere else, but to my pleasant surprise they were already done. Quick service, good work, excellent prices. Truly an expert alterations and dry cleaning place. I've had my uniforms and civilian suits altered here, and I've been super impressed with the quality of work. The owner is so dedicated and really sweet. She took care of all my requests, even though it's obvious that English is her second language. The price of service is well worth it as it fit me perfectly. My wife also brought some dresses to be shortened and she loved Jan's work! And you know if the wife's happy, so am I. this truly deserves 5 stars! great service, they are very straight foward and polite. they have great turn around time. they're work is dead on. Dry cleaning is awesome. Alterations is amazing. I had my ASU coat tailored to be smaller because I felt like it was too big on me. She took me aside and made the adjustments and measurments and then made sure I was okay with it. Few days later, BOOM it was done and perfect. Had an inspection today and got great reviews from all around. Had a jacket I bought recently that had really long sleeves. Had it shortened by this place too and man was it good. They do everything your way. Price was awesome too! We will never go there again! For 4 leg and 2 med patches sewn onto leather vests $105 is ridiculous!!! How do I have gone with my husband I told him not to go there because previously she charged me 25 to sew on a small patch on a leather vest! Extremely overpriced because our competition down the road probably would've charged us Maybe $40. She did not have $105 worth of thread and time or needles or electricity for that matter and sewing on those patches unless you wanna pay out your rear I wouldn't go there. My husband and I drove an hour and a half to get my ranks sewn on (2 ACU tops and my ASU jacket). This was the first alteration shop we see off the highway so we stop in here. We got in around 12:15pm and she tallied up how much everything would cost, she told us to come back at 2:30pm. We left around 12:30 and walked over next door to eat lunch while we wait for my uniforms to be done. An hour later and we were getting ready to pass her shop and she waived us back inside (her door was open). She said my uniforms were ready! We were so surprised she did it in an hour! This is the only place in the Spring Lake/Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg area that my husband and I go to for our dry cleaning and alterations. They are truly experts at what they do, and they tailored my Marlow Whites to perfection, including a jacket, pants and a skirt. Dry cleaning always done in a timely manner too.
