    Avalyn's Paw Spa

We just took our sweet Lillibelle to Avalyn's Paw Spa for a nail trim. What may seem like a run of…read morethe mill need for many pups has truly been such a challenge for us since rescuing her in 2015. It took us many months before she would let us touch her paws or nails and though we were able to get that far, it has been nearly impossible to trim her nails all of this time. In nearly two years her nails were only trimmed once, and that was when she was sedated for something else. And even with heavy sedation, it was traumatic for her and for us. Fast forward to now and Lilli's nails were so long, she was literally slipping on the floors, getting caught in every soft surface she walked on and beginning to struggle with just walking. We were truly desperate when we met Cyril at Avalyn's. Cyril took great care of both Lillibelle and of us. She encouraged us to leave Lilli with her and her team for about 90 minutes. This way, Lilli could get used to the new environment, socialize with the other dogs (which she normally avoids doing) and they could take things a step at a time with her. She also encouraged my husband and I to try a local spot for some lunch in the meantime to help take our minds off of our nervousness and fear. All great advice. We went to the local restaurant, ordered a LARGE margherita to take the edge off of our nerves and some lunch. Cyril said she'd call if there was any issue or if Lilli just would not cooperate. When we hadn't heard from her after an hour, we hoped for the best. Upon returning to get Lilli, we saw her sitting at the gate calmly waiting for us to arrive. We walked in and to our amazement, Cyril and her team were able to get to ALL FOUR of Lilli's paws. I cannot express what an achievement this is, given the past experiences with her. We were FLOORED. I nearly cried with joy. Needless to say, the folks at Avalyn's helped us beyond measure. We will make the hour's drive back regularly as we know Lillibelle will be in excellent care with Cyril and her team. And maybe next time, I won't need the margherita (but I may have one anyway!). Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She walked her regularly and even gave training advice, as well as worked with her on her training by reinforcing good behavior. We definitely recommend her and would use it again.

Irina of Pet Angel of Santa Fe is absolutely exceptional in every way that matters…read more I just hired Irina for the first time ( 4/25 - 4/28/2025) to take care of my post-surgery, one year old male cat for 4 days, at her home. He had had a very delicate operation to repair a tricky break in the tibia bone of his back right leg. They had installed a metal brace and screws and wire. Very expensive and extremely important to contain the cat so he would not harm the leg while it is healing. I had an out of state family funeral to attend and was in a panic. I googled something like post-surgery in home care in Santa Fe. Her website plus one other Pet Hospital came up. I reviewed her website, noticed how well it was designed with attention to detail (very important) and that she was licensed via the city of Santa Fe for animal care. I never even felt the need to review the other website. My cat, named Kitty, needed 24/7 care and someone with experience handling medications and delicate post-surgery care. I emailed her of my upcoming needs, as it was late on a Sunday and I needed to leave in 4 or 5 days. We spoke the next day and went over all my concerns. As we spoke it was so obvious that she was very experienced in the post-surgery needs of an animal. Additionally, she demonstrated a deep understanding of relating to the cats and dogs she takes care of. If you want to just have Irina go to your home and feed and water and clean up after your pets while you are away that is of course possible also. Irina sent me wonderful photos and reports everyday of Kitty. I felt completely confident that Kitty got excellent care and attention...complete with a heated rug his first day there to comfort him as he adjusted to this new environment. I could go on and on but don't want to make this any longer. In short, all pet owners in Santa Fe, are lucky to have Irina the Pet Angel of Santa Fe as an option for animal care when the need arises. Thanks, Irina for your love and devotion to my Kitty and all cats and dogs. Mary BB
