    Cockroach in my curry

Well that 5-star experience was short-lived, and I'm so sad. We went here again for the second time in a week. I opened my curry and saw a little black hair floating on top. Yuck. Then I go to remove it and it's actually a COCKROACH ANTENNA with a body still attached. Revolting. I guess I'm going back to my old go-to Thai place.

First, don't let the location deter from checking this place out! It's located away from the street, in a small plaza. Once we're in, the staff greeted us warmly, and the food was excellent! We wanted to try because we saw they have vegetarian/vegan options, which is always good to have. They accommodated us very well. Some highlight dishes included tofu soup and pad thai. Overall, it was an excellent meal, we recommend!

    Chicken Satay

Son and I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. It's nothing fancy inside but super nice lady running this place. We ordered summer rolls and chicken satay for apps. Both were super. Rolls were really fresh and the peanut sauce was good, I added a little spice to it. Satay was super moist and flavorful. Son ordered pork belly bowl and I ordered basil fried rice. The meat and broth in the pork belly dish was so delish and just the right amount of salty, put it over the rice and you'll be happy. Basil fried rice was also good, and both of our plates came with a spring roll and a cup of vegetable soup, which were each very good. We have several Thai options in Bedford and Jan Thai is up there with Koracha and Thai Thip.

    Tom kha soup and bug

I ignored the review about the cockroach because thought it wouldn't happen again, but lo and behold found a lil straggler in my Tom kha soup. I'm rating this 2 stars because food was still good before said bug was discovered Probably will not come here again but idk yall should still try it if you're not afraid of a little extra protein, not me though

I got the Pho Noodle Soup and my husband got the pineapple fried rice. Both were absolutely delicious with great flavors. Portions are generous too! The mango sticky rice is to die for. Trust me! I didn't think I'd like it and it was absolutely amazing. We are so glad to have this place so close!

The food ordered: pad Thai, tom kha chicken soup, yum soon sen salad, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, a side of fried rice, and jeow som sauce. I ordered off their restaurant app which does include service fees. My total was $64.22. As a whole, the food is really good, nice proportions, and steaming hot. I asked for no spice on the pad Thai and mild spice in the soup and noodle salad. But the pad Thai got all the spice. AND I MEAN SPICY! My daughter was sad at first but powered through and enjoyed it and cleared her sinuses while she was at it LOL. Simple mistake, and lesson learned to make sure everything I order in the future is at the no spice level. The crab Rangoons are thin, delicate and crispy- the filling was slightly sweet and delicious. Very good with the sweet and sour sauce that comes with it. The egg rolls weren't our favorite but they were still tasty. Just not so crispy as we would have liked. The soup was exactly what my cold needed! It cleared my nose instantly. The show stopper was the yum woon sen salad. My daughter and I fought over leftovers. It's the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and sour. A new favorite for sure! We will definitely be back to try other dishes and support this local gem!

HIDDEN GEM ALERT!! Oh...my....god....this place is AWESOME. I'm almost nervous to leave this review…read morebecause I don't want it to become over busy and lose its authentic charm. It's located in a tiny market in a very unassuming party of town - but make no mistake - nestled between barber shops and low income housing is arguably the best Thai food I've had in DFW The flavor was so deep and rich. Melt in your mouth flavor for the pork ribs and sausage. The vermicelli curry was phenomenal and the Thai papaya salad was super fresh and delicious. Spring rolls on point and the service was so friendly. Beef larb was very authentic tasting. The guy who took our order was awesome. And to top it all off? Great prices and tons of ACTUAL Asian people eating there. That's how you know it's good!

It's tucked away and attached to a small Lao grocery store, which honestly made it feel even more authentic. The moment we walked in, it felt like we were about to get a home-cooked meal. We ordered the organ soup with sticky rice, beef lahp, and nam khao, and everything was absolutely delicious. The broth in the organ soup was rich, clean, and deeply flavorful, exactly how it's supposed to taste. The sticky rice came out warm and perfectly chewy. The beef lahp was bright and herbaceous with the right amount of spice and lime, super fresh, and tasted just like what we've had in Laos/at family gatherings. And the nam khao was crispy, tangy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients here. What I appreciated most is the authenticity. A lot of other reviewers mentioned that this is one of the few places in Texas where the food tastes "just like home," and I completely agree. Multiple people also mentioned the friendly staff and how the market side carries essentials and hard-to-find Lao/Thai items. We felt the same way, everyone was kind, and the grocery section is a nice bonus for anyone looking for snacks or specialty ingredients. Portions were solid, prices were fair, and the quality was amazing. This is exactly the kind of spot you hope to find when traveling. If you want real Lao food, skip the trendy places and come here instead. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Texas. Highly, highly recommend.
