Second chance and it was a fail for a few reasons..... I stopped in to Jamison City Hotel this evening and ordered a prime rib "rare". The prime rib appears to be pre-cooked and reheated at the time of ordering based on the temperature, texture,and appearance of the meat. The cut I ordered came out medium well, so it was not cooked to order. I did not send it back because it took quite some time to get food, so I chalked it up to the fact that I just would not order that dish again in the future. The atmosphere was good, but the kitchen was extremely slow due to Valentine's Day I suppose. The wait staff was flustered and seemed to be rather disorganized. (Example: Took 10 mins to get silverware after bread and salad was delivered) The biggest disappointment of the evening was when I paid with the gift card that my parents had given me last Christmas 21'. The server thanked me and I headed out. While driving down the road I saw the server exit the restaurant and wave me down. I turned around and she let me know the gift certificate that had been purchased with hard earned money had expired. She stated that the owner told her that she would have to pay my bill if she didn't catch me. Wow! BUYER BEWARE..... I did not realize that someone would put an expiration date on hard earned money, but Jamison city hotel does. In my opinion horrible business practices guys! Had I not had 50.00 in cash in my pocket (value of my gift card) I would have been forced to go back in and pay a bill and appear as though I skipped out on a bill. All in all, this was a very poor experience, and I personally will not return, but I wish Jamison city, the best of luck moving forward. read more

When we got to the restaurant there was some person sitting at our Reserve table had to wait five or so minutes for them to stand up so we could sit down . Our waitress was a tall blonde forgot a couple things on our order . Then at the end while we were trying to split our checkup three ways because they wouldn't do it separately for us , we were abruptly asked to get up and leave because other people needed the table! Suffice to say I don't think we'll be back anytime soon . Also I ordered the clams for an appetizer they were the smallest clams I had ever seen so if anybody's going to order the drunken clams you better get three orders . read more

Had a great meal at this little country gem out in the middle of nowhere! A friendly crowd at the bar. We had an excellent burger, cheesesteak and mozzarella sticks-- though they are half moon shaped. The onion rings were great too. We got their too late for ribs, they were all out but the people next to us had them and they looked divine! The bartender was friendly and attentive despite them being pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Hadn't been here in years but the owners have done a lot. The place looks great and all the outside seating and music area is pretty impressive! read more

Blows my mind that this place could EVER get a good review- I went with friends 3 times and this was definitely the LAST time. Had to wait for a table even though there weren't a lot of people there. Sign says wait to be seated- but it took forever to find someone to seat us. The bread was tasteless- I don't mean bland-I seriously mean had no taste whatsoever. They give you cinnamon butter just to make it taste like something. The meat was ordered rare, but was about as close to well done as you could possibly get. I feel it was made a day or so before and just reheated. The mashed potatoes don't come with anything- no gravy or butter or au jus- just dry and hard. The vegetable was canned and overcooked. The service was HORRIBLE. They are always looking for help- look at their facebook page... and I understand the owner is terrible to work for...the staff seems genuinely unhappy there. There aren't a lot of options in a small town- it is a shame that this is one of the only options. If ZERO or negative stars were an option- I would have given that for a review as I feel one star was WAY too many stars. read more

Outstanding place to eat and enjoy great music. I like it because they don't tolerate troublemakers. Just a fun environment.

Staff nice and dining room is fine. Beef filet was perhaps the worst I've ever attempted to eat. Sent it back. They said that is their 'standard' of medium. Meat was grey, tough and had zero flavor. My guess is they try to pass off a different cut of beef as 'filet'. They would not accommodate my request to remove it from our bill. $26.00 for a baked potato, over cooked beans and a crap steak. yuk. Don't waste your time and $$ on this place. At least the onion rings were good and the magician was entertaining. read more

Typical great country bar, friendly service and good food. Corn Fritters with syrup was a great appetizer. Steak special was not fancy- very simple and soooo worth the $12.00. Broiled Halibut- really good and not too fishy. Hamburger- was great, I asked for jalapeño , extra pickles and mayo and got Boneless chicken fingers replaced chicken wings ( they ran out) - served in a barbecue sauce. They were ok. Got the most expensive thing on the menu, the Prime Rib. It was touted as their Big Deal. What came out looked and tasted more like dyed cardboard. Ordered medium, there was not a spot of even pink to be found. And so tasteless! The service was great, and everything else was OK, but for 33 bucks I really expected, you know, a steak. read more

Today I Took My Dad Mr. Karl Schu Out To A Very Nice Father's Day Dinner At Thee Jamison City Hotel Bar & Restaurant located in Benton, PA. As We Both Had King Prime Rib Dinner With All The Fixings Locally Made Beer And Some Homemade Ice Tea As This Was Trying Amazing Foods And Drinks With Such Fast Service Friendly Staff And Awesome Owners To Always Clean Place Will Be Back Again Since We Love To Do Some PA Trout Fishing In The Area As We Where Very Please Overall Thank You All Making Dad' Father's Day Memorable ! read more

Wow. Food was amazing. Staff and entertainment was great. Shout out to Jacob the youngest Jonny cash fan. Outdoor area spectacular.

Heard some great things about this place but it was so not up to expectations. First, it is in the middle of nowhere, which can be tons of fun. Our group made reservations, but when we arrived no one greeted us. We walked in and had to make ourselves known. Finally seated, we waited probably 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Now, the restaurant is small and it was full, but still, not acknowledging for that length of time is just very poor. When someone finally came by and brought us menus, it took a bit longer for a waitress to address us. We asked for house red wine to which she said, yes, we have chardonnay!! Obviously, they are big sellers of beer because it is a bar as well. Two of the party ordered their prime rib. It didn't really come out as ordered and you could tell it was the type of prime rib that Sam's club sells pre-cooked and cryovaced. Not horrible tasting but salty and likely additives to preserve it. Very unappetizing looking for sure. One person had halibut and it wasn't bad, one person had fried shrimp and they were at least good and fresh as well as the appetizer of corn fritters which were fresh, hot and good. We went on a Saturday night and they have a band come into play, so it seems that the charm of this place is for locals. They had 6 tables at the bar, which get reserved. Again, a nice hole in the wall for locals, but I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here. read more
