I went in to get a strep test because I'd been sick for several days and my roommate had a positive strep test. The first staff member was lovely, but the doctor who came in was extremely condescending. The strep test was negative and he kept repeating (like 4 or 5 times) that because it was negative he didn't see a reason to put me on antibiotics. I was like yeah, no shit, I don't want to be on antibiotics if I don't need them, but he was treating me like I was being drug seeking for antibiotics. I was wearing a mask because it said on the door to put one on if you had respiratory symptoms, so I wonder if he's just one of those doctors that doesn't like people that still wear masks when they're sick after covid (?) The part that actually really bothered me was when he asked me what medications I was taking, and I told him I'm on spironolactone for acne, and he pretty just much looked me up and down and told me well you should go on Accutane. I was trying to be polite, so I said I'd just started spironolactone and wanted to give it a shot. And he was like "Accutane would work wonders." I thought this was really unprofessional. I was there for an illness not cosmetic advice or unsolicited dermatology.

They say: yeah, but you requested we bill your insurance and that rate is higher. Since your insurance doesn't pay, you now need to pay 470 extra (to make it 630). Im like: what? Wait, what???? Is this legal?

I had no idea how long it had been attached (it was in an impossible-to-see place) but I knew it had possibly been there for about a week or a bit less. I went to see a regular doctor who gave me a day's dose of Doxycycline, but I've known so many people who've really suffered and been sick from Lyme disease I didn't want to take a chance. A friend who has been sick with Lyme in the past pointed me in Dr. Gardner's direction. Dr. Gardner has helped many people who have not been served well by conventional medicine and have become sick with Lyme. Additionally, she specializes in many other areas, too, but I've only seen her for the tick bite. I will definitely go back, however, if other things come up. Sadly, now a days, it seems like one is served best by seeing two doctors. A conventional one for the easy to diagnose things, like Strep Throat, etc. And a holistic one who thinks outside of the box and recognizes how stress, nutrition, nerves, etc. play into one's overall wellbeing. During my visit, Dr. Gardner spent about an hour with me, she really tried to educate me on ticks, bites, misconceptions, etc. She's definitely not the type of doctor to hand you some pills and send you out the door. She wants you to understand things and I appreciate that.

Why he would lie about this is beyond me! He refused to refer me and I had to do it on my own via a website he recommended which was a disaster! He made me come in to the office for things normally handled on the phone just to milk me for office visit costs ~$2500, criminal! I'm a 50 year old veteran, just a terrible person!

Yet the last time we went, which was last month, the doctor asked me if she'd ever had an eye exam there before. According to her, there was no record of her in their system other than to order glasses. Tell me how you lose an entire patient's records and then argue with me about it? I stayed calm and tried to explain that she has never seen another eye doctor, and that she has always been to Eyecare Of Vermont. Hell, she busted her skull when she was two years old in their waiting room and I had to take her to the ER. And yet, what I got in return was a condescending attitude and an eye roll. In my experience, these people do not care about you. You are an irritation they have to put up with to get a paycheck.
