My first time to try jamba juice. I wanted to experience them for myself, since I've heard people going gaga over them. I felt nervous ordering my drink, since everyone in front of me looked so experienced at ordering their perfect juice~ I went in, and ordered a berry smoothie. Low and behold, they were out of blueberries... hmmmm, o.k.... I ordered a strawberry banana, and was told that they needed to check if they had anymore bananas... Ok... Got the drink, and drank about 1/3 cup of it. I ordered the medium size. It was nice and thick, but it was just okay. Would I go back? Probably. But now with the Enlightened Smoothie lineup, I opt for the Matcha Green Tea Mist over the Blast--cheaper, with less sugar and calories, which translates to a slightly less dent in the pocketbook and a lil less roll in the waistline. I come here every weekday between 9:30am and 10:00am to get my breakfast: a delicious, warm, awesome cup of bomb-ass steel cut oats. Jamba Juice mailed out a coupon for $1 steel cut oats for March 2009, so I went to town on that good stuff!!!! Every day! A bowl of oats. Now, March 2009 is over, and I gotta pay $2.95 + Tax (OUTRAGEOUS!!!!) for a small cup of oats, but it's so totally worth it because it's so good and because I love the staff here. I feel like that song from "Cheers"; the part where they go "Where everybody knows your name!" I walk in, and it's like "Hi Vivian!" They know my name! And they're so friendly and awesome and sweet, and people who are nice and positive and great like that just make my day!! I'm just drawn to them! If it weren't for the awesome staff here, I wouldn't be paying effing $3.00 for a small thing of oats every morning, but because they are who they are, I'll gladly support Jamba any day. Oh, and by the way, the apple oats are the tastiest. The blueberry one isn't real blueberry; it's some sort of weird, very sugary jelly/compote mixture. And I guess the banana one is the healthiest one for you since they stick an entire, fresh half-banana into your tiny cup of oats. But yeah, major props to the staff! Yesterday was a funny day. I'd gone into work to hang some wavy mirrors from Ikea (they look freakin awesome BTW!), then headed home to change and eat a quick lunch. I needed a minute...she offered help deciding if I needed it. I told her I was hungry, and asked if a particular food item was good. "No, not really. These are to die for though, and these are yummy too..." I asked about the protein pizza sticks, which she approved of, so I got one and then went to order my smoothie. "OK, I want a small Razzmatazz, but I don't like orange sherbet. What else could I do?" "Well, there's frozen yogurt..." ('meh' face by me) ..."OR!!! Or you could try pineapple sherbet. Jamba juice is A okay--3 stars. its a tad much for a drink--5 bucks for a 16oz of delish juice and not to mention 400 (!) calories. Why 4 stars? The staff here has been consistently friendly, putting up with my supplementing different fruits, asking about the calorie content changing if i use non-fat yogurt vs. the rasberry sherbet and throwing in the boost at last min when i forget to order it at the register. As soon as I corrected her, she turns to the guy who rang me up and just stared at him without even addressing me or saying I'm sorry I'll have that right up. She didn't even have to make more! Mid-day is around the time I came her with a co-worker. I was placing an order for a few girls in my office, we all pretty much wanted the Orange-Carrot Karma. I placed and order saying "Orange-Carrot", when the order came i noticed it was really runny and watery. We asked if it's supposed to look like that. The girl asked us then if we wanted the juice or the smoothy. UMMMMMm shoudn't you have asked us that when we ordered? One of the worker's said "oh, you have to say Karma for the smoothy". There were 2 other workers there who looked at us like we should have known to say "KARMA". WTF. The girl who made our drink said "do you want me to make it over, it'll be wasting a lot of juice though". We should have had them make it over, but the nice people that we are said it was fine. i'm not annoyed that we ordered the wrong drink, i'm annoyed by their attitude. how the hell were we supposed to know to say "KARMA", if that's a common mistake maybe ask if your customers want the orange-carrot juice or the smoothly. or Don't name your drinks the same thing. If only I could give this place a negative star I would. My friend walked in, ordered 4 smoothies, waited over 30 minutes!!! Me and my other friend noticed people who walked in after our friend all came out with their smoothie!! I literally hate going into this store because the employees that work there are so incredibly rude and have the worst attitude. I always feel like I'm bothering them with my order even though their job requires them to blend together some fruit to make a smoothie. I walked up to the register and a very handsome young man looking at me and asked "Can I help you?" I am confused. I am in shock -still do not see my favorite item listed on the menu. So I start: -U know, the other Jambas I go to...they always have this thing...hmm..u know it is a blueberry and soy smoothie. It normally comes with either bananas or strawberries...Can i still get it? BUT, without any other fruit except for blueberries... I get a nice smile back and hear -Oh, u probably men the "Bright eyed Berry?" -Yeah, that's it. Can I still get it, or is it illegal? I smile:) He says "Oh, yeah!" I pay, walk to the window and look at my shopping bag the way a kid looks at the box with chocolate. I am tempted to get those shoes and pants on! And Bam! I hear my name. Ready already? Terrible Customer Service at the Kearny St. (at Sutter) location. Most of the time they will wait 5 mins. or more before having someone at the cash register. Today someone stepped in front of me in line and they started to take their order. I waved and said I was here first. They ignored me. So I left. Another time, when no one was at the register, I heard an employee say they don't like "doing reg." Seemed to be the sentiment with all the employees. Now a-days they place the smoothie in a way in the cup so there is less. They cut corners and have poor customer service. Will not go to that Jamba Juice again. Honestly this location is a true hit and miss! Lately it has been a "miss" when you're paying almost $8 for a smoothie and you know exactly what it tastes like, you kinda expect that when buying it. I come in here everyday to get oatmeal, I get the worst service ever. The heavier Latin girl have okay service but the short smaller Latin girl is very rude and has the worst customer service skills ever. Today this morning at 7:18am I ordered oatmeal with bananas, they opened at 6:30am which I'm sure they cut fresh bananas up but I received old brown soggy bananas in my oatmeal which I'm sure was from the previous day and my cup of oatmeal was half full. so I asked her to just give me strawberries instead and she literally gives me 5 pieces of strawberries with the worst attitude ever.
