Service was reasonably quick and friendly, and the menu had a decent variety of brunch food items. We ordered the Down South Benny, which had cajun sausage and cheddar biscuits, and the blackened chicken sandwich. The benny was just alright - good flavors overall but the poached eggs were way overcooked. Been coming to Jam for years at least once a week and had a terrible experience today. They recently moved a few store fronts down into the Good Life Bar and Restaurant. Not a good idea. Yes there is more outside seating, but now it feels like you are eating breakfast at a sports bar. The service was not good at all. Butter on toast when specifically asked not to have it, Sour Cream inside an eggwhite omelet instead of Swiss. Doesn't seem like that big of an issue, but when the waitress tells you that's the Swiss cheese and you have to literally smear it on your plate for her to understand is a problem. Writing this as I eat the leftovers from my Chicken, Bacon and Waffles from Jam. You know when you're eating something and it's so delicious you start eating smaller and smaller bites in the hopes that it lasts just a little longer...that's happening to me right now. The waffle is the perfect combination of crispy and soft, the chicken bites are tasty and not over-battered, and the bacon is as bacon should be. They also gave me bacon jam, and while I'm not sure exactly whats in it, it's also delicious and goes great with the potatoes. I had no wait on this holiday Monday at 9:30 AM. Service was good and food came out quickly. I'm in from out of town and Jam was recommended by my friend from Oceanside. She nailed it. 10/10 would go out of my way to visit again and try more of the menu - or eat the same thing. :) Every single dish they brought out looked picture-perfect and, if my meal is any indicator, probably tasted incredible. Ok breakfast spot, but it did not live up to expectations. I heard so much about Jam. Went for brunch on Friday, and the place was already popping when it wasn't even 11A yet. We were seated at the bar because the restaurant was so busy and small. I had the Down South Benny and my brother had the huevos rancheros. The Benedict was honestly very mediocre. One of the eggs was overpoached and the other one had already popped by the time it got to me. The biscuit was nothing to write home about, the Hollandaise not quite citrusy though creamy. The huevos was good, but there was an upcharge of the avocados. I just couldn't justify the price of brunching here for food that is just ok and service that is lacking. I've been seeing reviews on this place and was in the areas so I stopped in for the Bloody Mary deviled eggs, they were ok, nothing extraordinary. The space is small and Sunday brunch was busy. I was there at 1115 and most parties were being given a wait time of 45 mins to hour. The hostess was more about keeping the wait-line in order (which I appreciate), rather than greeting customers I wish she had been more personable, because going to breakfast/brunch should leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside, she did not. I do like that the restaurant takes your name on an iPad and texts you when the table is ready. There are a few shops nearby, so you're able to walk around or sit in the car instead of sitting in the small waiting area which only seats about 4 people. I wanted to nice warm coffee, but was underwhelmed by the coffee menu selection. The food options on the menu were plentiful and the aroma in the restaurant was amazing. Recently had a surprise party/wine pairing dinner at the Jam. The experience was really amazing. The menu was created based on input I provided that highlighted some of the guest of honor preferences in style of wine and particular food options. The end result was a menu and wine selection that was varied and offered all the guests a flavorful well balance dining experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, and the service was spot on. The plating of the food was a step above and you could really see the effort that was put forth to tie the food, the wine, and the presentation together. After the event I've received nothing but praise for the Jam and the event from each and every guest, and let's face it, when you have 50 people it's going to be tough to please each and every one of them, but I actually pulled it off this time (thanks to the Jam and the staff!) Pros: Everything about the event from planning to execution. Food was great, wine pairing was great and all the guests had a great time. Cons: Honestly can't say there were any cons for this event. The place had been updated a bit since I was there pre-COVID, and I was pleasantly surprised with the updates and the space was much more comfortable. It was super ooey and gooey in the inside, just the way I like it and I thought it was the perfect amount of sweetness! Also, the flower on top just made it absolutely beautiful! Always intrigued by what I can find in the area. Found Jam and was instantly curious by what they had to offer. Went on a Friday morning and was told it would be a 40 minute wait (i can only imagine the weekends). Ordered the Short Rib Omelet and Avocado BLT. For the Short Rib omelet the meal is huge and would be surprising if anyone could finish in one siting. A good meal that could easily fill you up for the day. Aside from the fact that an extremely loud Uber driver came in earlier yelling stating that "her" order was wrong, i was under the impression that Uber drivers shouldn't check customers food because that is extremely unsanitary but that's neither here nor there. Went here on July 25, 2021. I was so excited to go to this place because the food is soo good!! Of course there is a long wait to get in to this place which seems to be par for the course. We had to wait about an hour to get the call to get a table. (They do not take reservations) The food was phenomenal! We had the Steak empanadas, Crepes (chocolate and strawberry Nutella), Up North Benny, Short Rib Omelet and Banana Candied Walnut Pancakes. Everything here was sooo good... just thinking about it I am drooling. I left here super full and happy! I felt that everything was appropriately priced and have no complaints. We love this establishment! We are reoccurring patrons here. Small, cozy restaurant with quick service, great food, and a great price! We always grab a mimosa each, and our go-to is the grilled cheese with roasted tomatoes; I always ask to get extra roasted tomatoes when we order. We also really enjoy the coconut crepes. The Steak and Egg empanadas are delicious, however, the portions wouldn't be able to feed a 6 year old toddler. They're very small empanadas and only 2 of them come on a plate with a side of fries. If you're hungry that's not something you should pick. The only complaint we have is that sometimes the food can come out a little cold and the home fries a little soggy. Jam has a super cute ambience inside and out. The wait was pretty long [40 minutes] but the estimate given to us at the door was accurate if not overestimated, and it was about 11:30 on a Sunday. We had plans at 1:30, so once we were sat we moved really quickly to order and eat and were in and out of our seats in 20 minutes, but the service was excellent and speedy to accommodate our needs. The food was good, and I appreciated that the waiter didn't rush us - my friend and I had plenty of time to catch up and since it wasn't busy he seated her before I arrived. Plan ahead on a weekend though because it can get pretty crowded. Jam has two seating areas. The section you see when you walk in has a bar, some booths, and the bathrooms (I've been chilly in this section in the winter). There is a second area with more seating if you make a right when you enter and walk along the windows. I recommend Jam and look forward to going back! read more
