They said they couldn't pinpoint a timeframe, it's either Morning or Evening time-frames. I chose MORNING since my husband has to lay down in the afternoon to get some sleep before he goes back out to work. So, I stayed home to be there at 8 am, they are about one mile from my rental. she said they start at 8am. I told her my Hubby would be there by 930am and the contact number is my cell. So, he came home...still no heating guys. I called she put me on hold for 10 minutes, came back said yeah they should be there around or shortly after 930. So, I left to go to work. I did a small job locally in Ripley and needed to go to Parkersburg. It was 11am so I swing by my home to make sure that they are there...Nope!!! So I called her back she said ALL the guys were in Spencer working...I said ALL the guy??? She said I was on the work order list...so my hubby goes to bed and I end up cancelling my appointment for work in Parkersburg to stay around SO I AM out$100 work day to wait.. Now at 340pm still NOT HERE....so I called again...she said well your on the list...they will definitely show up...so now I can't go wash my elderly handicap mother's hair and fix her dinner because I am still waiting on the Heating Company who has never apogized, who has never called....and I am supposed to be a Happy Customer????? NOT on your life Do NOT recommend and they still haven't showed up!!!!! Update: So at 4pm a guy calls saying he's on his way ONLY 8 hours LATE.... I promise I will NOT curse him out....BUT I am NOT Happy.... NOT ONE BIT!!!!!

Zero Stars. Phil Castello proved to me last night he had no intention of following through on work…read moreI hired him for once he was paid in advance for the last half of it. Nor, will he make the time to stand behind work he completed, some of which is already failing. To avoid having to return, rectify, or refund, since May, Phil has ignored my emails, text, and a message submitted through their website. When I finally managed to find and get a response from his wife yesterday through Facebook Messenger, she said I should have kept in touch if I wanted Phil to return, because now he's booked until sometime next year. In addition, she reported that he claimed "time and materials" ate up the cost. I had not gotten receipts or explanations for these costs previously because Phil had not bothered to reconcile the invoice until I caught up with him last night. He said I actually owed more but he was willing to let go of the difference. In the end, they resigned themselves to giving me a refund for half the amount they said I owed them, far less than the work he still owes me. Acknowledging it was my fault for trusting him enough to give the money in advance, I gave up out of sheer frustration, and told them to send me the meager refund check. While the couple refuses to discuss matters of dispute in-person or over the phone, requiring that all be in writing for the record, I had already been blamed more than once for lack of communication and misunderstandings. There was no way I was going to type my way through to a satisfiable resolution when it was clear this couple is not professional, let alone, mature enough to take any accountability without first attempting to ghost, deflect, and gaslight their customer. Yes, I agree one should never pay outright prior to completed work. Still, that doesn't give the Castello's the right to take advantage of the situation. I took a chance, and learned that their way of doing business is precisely why that norm exists. My fault, completely. However, I was in the unique position to be able to pay him off early, and Phil had expressed more than once that they were trying to finish up work on their own house, too, and that they were tight financially at the time because of it. As a young local couple with little kids, trying to grow their business, and my being pleased with what he'd done to that point, I chose to be supportive in that way for both our sakes, and I explicitly said in an email that I trusted him to return to complete the work. The last thing he said to me with his father sitting next to him was, "See you in September," which made it clear to me that I was already on his calendar to return. Apparently, no more time was scheduled for me. Soon after that, I noticed some problems with his work, and couldn't get ahold of him to tell him anything about my needs for September, let alone, about the issues around what he'd completed. Not only do I not recommend Castello Contracting & Home Services, LLC, I'm actively warning the community and local businesses that they took my money and ran, and hid right behind their screens.

I wouldn't use Ed / Artisans Construction to do any work for me if he paid me; that is how bad our…read more10 (supposed to be 6) week renovation was. We ended up firing him at the start of week 11. My husband and I decided to take on the work ourselves. Not only did we have to finish a lot of work, but many of the things had to be redone because of shoddy workmanship. Cabinets weren't level, were not hung securely, were hung over walls that needed fixed, & filler pieces were attached backwards. We expressed concern to Ed multiple times and were told that we needed to be patient & give him time or that things are within code (we have since learned this is incorrect!) Cabinets were hung before drywall and paint so he could get his money drawl earlier. I have documentation & pictures to back up everything. There was no respect for our property. No plastic was put up to cover our belongings, grout was all over our new carpet, mortar was on our black cabinets, our furniture was used as a ladder because they continuously came unprepared, and they actually wrote measurements on the brand new cabinets! We went 3 weeks in the middle of our reno with little to no progress. Ed's answer was to consistently throw his employees under the bus. There were several days where no one showed & Ed did not communicate with us or 1 or 2 workers would come for an hour or two then leave. The very last thing that they were supposed to do is come & hang one cabinet. Instead of hanging the cabinet, they cut part of the wall off and left with the cabinet sitting on the kitchen floor. I can't make this stuff up! My husband had to completely rebuild the wall. Ed never responded when I asked what happened. Ed promised numerous times that he would be here to oversee the the work, that he was going to put in our tile floor & backsplash - none of those promises came to fruition. Over 10 weeks he was here very little. We finally put a stop pay on our last check after everything that we had been put through because they weren't showing up (we paid a portion up front and the amount of work remaining far exceeded what had been done). At this point, we had paid thousands and weren't even close to having our project completed after 10 weeks. Being displaced in your home with 3 dogs during Thanksgiving and Christmas was awful. We were told this would be finished before Thanksgiving multiple times! We will eventually tear up the tile floor that they didn't install correctly. On top of everything else they installed an electric cooktop and didn't run electric to it. They fixed plumbing twice then my husband ended up redoing it for the 3rd time. We gave members of the crew our dishwasher, washing machine and dryer plus all of our old cabinets. We are good reasonable people. There were two or three workers who were good workers/people but unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. We have had to deal with a lot of remodeling both with and without contractors and nothing was as bad as dealing with Artisan Construction. Not only is Ed not a good businessman, I don't even think he's a good person.
