While waiting, there was great banter and conversation going on with everyone, and it felt more like a family get together than waiting for a haircut. I gave the barber discretion and asked him to cut it any way he liked. My uncle owned a shop for more than 50 years and when he was allowed to be creative with a customer it was usually his best work. It all grows back and I am up for creativity. I can't speak to the skills of the other barbers that work here but unfortunately for me I got Ron. I have long hair and what I asked for was a simple maintenance cut, even out the length and take about 2 or 3 inches off, what I got was a butcher job a 5 year old could have performed...he took more like 5 or 6 inches off the right side and 3 inches off the left leaving it very noticably uneven the back is the same it gets gradually uneven from right to left. The thing that bothers me most is he had me turned away from the mirror the whole time otherwise maybe I could have stopped him before he butchered my hair. I have a hard time believing a barber could be this incompetent to the point I almost question if Ron did this intentionally, needless to say I'll never be stepping foot back in this place again and I suggest anyone considering having their hair done here to think twice.

She learned how to do a flat top haircut from the best, Mr. Vern. She is known for her skill with a traditional flat top, and this is a dying art. She has quite a large following and her reputation and referrals continue to grow her business. The shop is charming and is filled with barber shop nostalgia. They don't take reservations. If there are others waiting when you get there, then you'll just have to sit and wait your turn. I usually call her on her cell to check to see if she's busy before I head to her shop. But if your needing a great haircut she's definitely worth the wait. I was there this morning to get my bi-weekly flat top haircut, and there was one person in her chair getting a haircut and no one else waiting. I was offered a cup of fresh coffee and a muffin while I waited. Southern hospitality at its best. She has one other full time barber and also she is training her son in her footsteps to keep the old style barber shop traditions alive and well into the next generation. I had heard of this shop from others in my neighborhood. I arrived and signed in. The wait was about 10-12 minutes. No other customers were waiting. Two individuals were receiving hair cuts. The barber shop is in the heart of the city of Forsyth. Most of the building in the downtown area were built very very long ago and this was no exception. While I waited I admired the craftsmanship of the original bricks peeping through sections of the wall as decoration. The wood ceilings, the actual plaster vs drywall, wood framed boards for advertising or announcement. Some very old barber chairs were being used. This added to the overall ambience of the small town barber shop feel. Teri cut my hair. To describe Teri as having extreme attention to detail, and mastering her profession is an understatement. I can't say I have ever had anyone else cut my hair in such a 3-D visualized manner except my uncle. My uncle and aunt ran a hair salon center for over 50 years. My uncle was a 2nd generation hair salon owner. I very much appreciate finding such a wonderful shop so quickly, and I'll definitely be back.
