We had about 7 shots, 12 drinks, a burger, a pizza and 7 wings and our tap was around $160. Not bad, especially when you are used to Dallas prices. We spent the weekend there because we went on the Talimena scenic drive, but I would definitely go back just to hang out there.

The online logo and photos make Crosswoods look like a place that should have "market prices" on all their steaks. Pulling up, I honestly thought I was walking into the Boar's Nest in Hazzard county. Inside, it's simple, laid-back, and exactly the kind of place where you'd expect to find peanut shells scattered across hardwood floors; sorry no peanuts here. The atmosphere is definitely casual, and the music is controlled by the patrons. Whoever feeds the jukebox gets to set the mood, and on our visit, the soundtrack was pure 2000s alternative metal. Nothing says family dinner quite like Disturbed blaring in the background! Now, I love Disturbed and Social D maneuvering through traffic but not paired with market price steaks. Thankfully, the food and service were far better than the atmosphere might suggest. Our bartender was polite, knowledgeable, and happy to offer samples of their locally brewed draft beers. The service was outstanding, especially considering it was our server's first night. You wouldn't have known it from the way we were taken care of. The food was genuinely impressive. My steak was exceptional and cooked exactly the way I ordered it, accompanied by fried okra. My wife's 8-ounce steak was excellent as well, and my son enjoyed his fried catfish. My daughter ordered the grilled fish and pinto beans. Everyone found something to enjoy, and the quality of the food was easily the highlight of the evening. One warning, though: skip the twice-baked potatoes. What arrived was essentially mashed potatoes with cheese on top. They lacked the characteristic texture and flavor of a proper twice-baked potato, where the potato is baked, scooped out, mixed with the other ingredients, returned to its skin, and baked again. These missed the mark. My biggest reservation is the pricing. I've happily paid more than $40 for a good steak, and the steak here was certainly good enough to deserve consideration. However, premium steakhouse prices come with certain expectations, including an atmosphere that complements the meal. Paying $40 for a steak while Disturbed is blasting so loudly that you can barely hold a conversation creates a bit of a mismatch. The verdict: Crosswoods serves excellent food with genuinely outstanding service, but the atmosphere and pricing seem to be competing for two different audiences. If you're looking for a casual spot with good steaks, seafood, and local drafts, it's worth a visit. Just manage your expectations, skip the twice-baked potatoes, and be prepared for dinner with a soundtrack that fits the interest of who ever got their first. Gage walked over to ask me about it. Instead of apologizing, offering to remake it, or anything else...he broke into excuses. He stated, that it goes on 2 different dishes and not sure why mine didn't have any crawfish. Then, it took 10 minutes for him to figure out how to refund me. Another girl looked at it and asked what was wrong and i told her. She looked at it and said, "there isn't any crawfish in that, we wil have to fix that" I had to ask for a receipt and the look Gage gave me was one of irritation. In Gage's defense, he appeared that he was doing 95% of the work and was overwhelmed. I had tasted it. The shrimp was excellent. The sauce was horrible. A prepacked heat up pouch, i am certain of. Nothing at all quality about the sauce. Stouffers is better. So, I wasted 45 minutes and got pasta without the key ingredient in it. No apology no anything. Horrible social skills and professionalism. Literally, 15 girls running around in short skirts not doing much at all. Needs to be a lot of training at this restaurant. I have been there probably 20 times. 10 of those times i.have gotten a burger. Theor burgers are great. The other 10 times, i have yet to get anything there that is remotely any good.
