Smoke filled filthy hotel. Preys on elderly for the rooms. Mold in fridge and 1950s furniture. Stay away!!

    Redwood Lodge - Coffee bar

    Redwood Lodge

General - My family was looking for a place to stay close to Granite Falls, MN for a summer…read moreairshow. Since there are not a lot of hotels in the area, we broaden our search to find a good hotel at a good price. Location - Redwood Lodge is right off the main highway running through Redwood Falls. You are close to everything the town has to offer and right across the street from a gas station and Walmart. Rooms & Building - The rooms look like they were just recently remodeled. There were a few rooms that still were under construction. The remodeled rooms were cozy and comfortable. They included a fridge and microwave. Amenities - This hotel doesn't offer a pool, but they do have a neat relaxation room that includes a hot tub and sauna. My kids had fun watching cartoons on the TV and sitting in the hot tub. They also have free coffee and cookies (delicious brownie cookies) available. In the morning, a free breakfast is provided. Food - The breakfast buffet had a lot of options to pick from and was one of the better breakfast buffets we have had in quite some time. They offered the standards such as waffles, cereal, eggs, fruit, toasting items, etc. but also offered breakfast sandwiches and biscuits and gravy. You did not leave hungry! Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. The hotel lobby was very welcoming and smelled like cinnamon and apples. The vintage farmhouse décor matched the town's vibe and made for a very pleasant stay. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $135 a night. Great bang for your buck, especially when you included the free breakfast, coffee, and cookies. Great hospitality at a great price. Redwood Lodge is definitely one of the better places to stay in the immediate area, even without a pool. We would stay again.

1 Star -- never again…read more my partner and i recently stayed at redwood lodge, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. from the moment we arrived, the energy was off. the front desk clerk questioned nearly everything my husband said -- from how we booked the room (Expedia, which apparently was "odd" to him) to making strange remarks about how we "drove without ID." it was unprofessional, unnecessary, and set the tone for the rest of our stay. we checked in with our emotional support dog, who was clearly seen by the same front desk clerk. several days into our stay -- the day before checkout -- we were given a note on the door stating we were not in a pet-friendly room and needed to move. at that point, why disrupt us after seeing us and our pet the entire time? staff interactions continued to feel cold, overly suspicious, and frankly judgmental. when i asked for a simple tool (pliers) to install a personal shower head, i was met with multiple questions instead of support -- even though i had already used the same pliers earlier in the week. at checkout, I was again told no pliers existed and stared at by multiple staff members while struggling to maneuver the luggage cart out the front door. no offer to help. just silence and stares. it's one thing for a place to be basic, but it's another for it to be inhospitable. do better. everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome -- especially when they're paying guests. -- a guest who will never return

Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel - Dated rooms on the first floor

    Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel

This review is for the hotel only, and not the casino which is connected to the hotel…read more Hotel has an indoor pool, sauna and a spa which is a plus. There is a small gym and an arcade. A couple of dine-in options plus a Caribou and a nice gift shop. Unfortunately that alone did not get us through and hence the very mid rating. We stayed in a non-smoking room, which smelled of smoke on the first floor. The bedding has the most uncomfortable mattress and pillows around where everyone in our party was complaining about their backs and necks after a 2 night stay. The shower pressure was non-existent and water temp. was lukewarm. Pro tip: There are literal kids working at the 'deck' which is the fast food option within the hotel, overcharged on the first occasion and then the next day, totally fussed our order, so do make sure to check your receipt and hold onto it, as that came handy for us on both occasions.

We had a nice stay here. Our room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful during check-in…read more Rooms were dark and cool for sleeping which I love. Showers had hot water and nice pressure. Hotel gift shop had a few postcards I could send home. We headed to the blackjack table at night. We played free bet and mostly donated our money after a decent run at the cards. The coffee shop in the lobby allowed me to get my latte fix in the morning with Caribou coffee. We also took advantage of the golf/hotel discount which got us $20 off golf rounds. Perfect. Nice stay.
