Ryan and his team aren't even located in the same city as where we needed him for a total remodel…read moreof two condos. They were fast, supportive, and constantly exceeded our expectations that we set forth. Not once did I worry about completion date or quality. We had two condos on the lake that he essentially gutted and remodeled from the ground up. His design and taste are impeccable. We will use him for future projects regardless of the time and place. We know he will get them completed within our budget(s) and time-frame(s). Superior!

The Square Foot Design Studio/Ryan Rios was recommended by a really close friend of mine…read more The project was a full remodel of a 1250 square foot townhouse in Corpus Christi, TX. The remodel included tile flooring (1st floor), wooden flooring (2nd floor), paint, grout, baseboards, cabinets, countertops, sinks, lighting, and faucets. Mr. Rios was to supply materials; flooring, cabinets, countertops, and sinks. Upon first meeting with Mr. Rios I explained to him that I travel with the military often and that I would really rely on him to communicate via phone since I would not be around. The day after our meeting, I left Texas to go back to my Air Force job. Two weeks later, while on the other side of the world, my contractor called me to let me know that he was running out of materials and that he was NOT receiving deliveries from Mr. Rios. So I decided to make a few phone calls. After a few days of trying, I finally get Mr. Rios on the line, he tells me that he is busy with other projects, specifically one in Horseshoe Bay, Texas and was sorry for neglecting my project. He then assures me that I would have my materials by the following Monday. This was on a Friday. Well, Monday comes and goes with no words from Mr. Rios. He would not return phone calls or Text messages. When I finally get ahold of Mr. Rios and express my displeasure with him not returning phone calls or text messages, his only response was, "that I needed to be more respectful" when I spoke to him. I explained to him that in the current situation where I do not cuss, and do not yell and that I am 8000 miles away and had already given him $10,000, that in my opinion, I was being more than respectful. End result, Mr. Rios never delivered materials, and out of frustration, my 60 year old mother had to drive over to his store to pick up materials for him. His excuse...he does not deliver in the rain. ........Mr. Rios sent me a text message scheduling a time to install my countertops. The countertops were the ONLY thing he was to be responsible for installing. The installation was scheduled for a Saturday starting at 8am. I cleared my schedule and made sure I would personally be there for the install. Days before the install, he sends me a text message asking me what color countertops I would like? I was a little confused, considering he had already shown me one countertop upon my initial visit, but now was presenting me with two different ones. Not realizing that this had happened I chose one of the two. Later that day, I caught on to what was going on, I asked the question...What happened to the original Quartz countertop I had selected in the beginning? Of course...NO RESPONSE. The night before install at 930pm, I receive an email from Mr. Rios stating that he would not be able to install the countertops the following day. Also, that he would not be receiving phone calls for quite some time (no surprise to me). I am not sure if it was out of embarrassment, or fear, but Mr. Rios made sure to install the countertops at a time when I was not available to be at the location. Things Ryan Rios got from me: 1. $20,000 paid on time every time 2. Free delivery and pickup of my materials 3. Supply of materials to complete the job (flooring, thin set, grout) courtesy of home depot Things I got from Ryan Rios: 1. Wrong colored countertops 2. Poorly cut crooked countertops 3. Holes not properly drilled in countertops 4. 95% of wood flooring required to complete the job 5. 50% of the grout required to complete the job 6. LONG LIST OF EXCUSES FOR HIS SHORTFALLS!!! Things I did not get, but wished that I did from Ryan Rios: 1. Customer Service (I probably only spoke to Mr. Rios 5 times) 2. Delivery 3. Warranty on work or materials 4. Any level of pride in his work Final statement: I should have gone with my initial gut feeling to not do business with this person. I really wish I could get a refund on my poorly crafted/installed kitchen countertop. If Mr. Rios wants to stay in business he should probably attempt to learn that in a business relationship, there is the business owner and the customer. The customer does not need to know all of your personal reasons for not being able to meet your customers' expectations. All I wanted was what I paid for, and when I was not getting what I paid for, I wanted to know what Mr. Rios would do to fix it. All I got were personal excuses as to why he could NOT make things right. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and good luck to whoever decides to do business with the emotional rollercoaster known as Square Foot Design Studio/Ryan Rios M. Medrano
