I really wanted to like this place, I continue to go back & try new things, I don't mind the prices being kind of steep, you get what you pay for & that's fine with me. I ordered 2 muffins in addition to a few coffees, they were sold out of the flavor i ordered so the barista took it upon herself to up my order from muffins to cake (almost 3 dollars more each), without explanation. Was driving through town and stopped by for a light lunch with my BW. I must say excellent customer service and nice vibe. Very good coffee. We ordered ham and cheese panini (can't recall the name they give it), veggie burger on whole wheat, brownie, tea and cup of joe, no sides. Total cost $31. Went in tonight after dinner for a nice latte with family..Four large Lattes was $26.00, which is not a problem if the Coffee was great. I feel that at that price the Coffee should be perfect. It wasn't. The Coffee tasted burnt. I like to put my own sugar...no stirrers, they could have offered us a spoon (used a plastic straws for drinking soda) no raw sugar (ran out). I loved Jacks Jack when they first opened...when did it change??? If your paying 26.00 for Coffee shouldn't there be some kind of service (besides them just bringing you the Coffee) if you are sitting in the Coffee house?? I tried this place hoping to find coffee and food that is vegan-friendly. The coffee was good but the food options were very limited. This would be fine but I had several negative interactions with the staff who were unable to make my coffee in 5 minutes and this was not on a busy day. The employees were having a long personal conversation with another customer. I can accept and appreciate staff being friendly but not when it means that I'm standing there waiting to be noticed and not even acknowledging the fact that I've been waiting. I'm sorry but i don't get how this place has 4 stars!! I went here yesterday while the safe trick or treating was going on and order 2 coffees which came to 12 bucks!! 12 dollars for 2 coffees which were so bad i had no choice but to throw them out. The chi tea tasted like dirty water and the carmel mochiato was so sweet it actually hurt my teeth. There are so many other better and cheaper coffee spots in babylon. What a cool place and an awesome cup of coffee!! The interior is an original and different space that is a great place to relax. They use La Colombe coffee which is great! The staff is super friendly. I will definitely return! I recommend any espresso drink. Also they serve a french press which is great if you're looking have your coffee there. read more

Cute place with a vaguely NYC vibe and definitely NYC prices ($4.25 for a latte...). I like that it's bringing a new air to Babylon Village, and spreading the love of hipster coffee shops with a small, but high quality selection. I think the decor is awesome, and it seems like a great place to spend a day getting work done. I will have to try their other goods another time. The credit card machine wasn't available when I went, but the lady was nice and told me that they were getting a new one. I think there are definitely some learning curves here, but this place seems like it's shaping up to be a great addition. Hopefully it can stick around. read more

I came here with high expectations. Between the pictures I've seen on Yelp and their own website, the positive reviews, a La Marzocco machine, coffee roasted by La Colombe and a laid back vibe, it seemed to have everything working for it. I figured Jack Jack's would be the answer to one off, non-Starbucks espresso joints that Long Island seems to seriously lack. I ordered a cappuccino to stay. A few minutes later, the barista brought over a huge mug thick with foam and covered with cinnamon. There was so much foam to get through before even reaching the espresso which unfortunately tasted more like warm milk. This was more in line with a latte than a cappuccino. I can only imagine how much more milk is in the latte. I understand that cappuccinos can be difficult to make due to their specific composition (1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk 1/3 foam). Call me a snob, but this was not the case and this was not a cappuccino. Perhaps it was the barista and I caught them on a bad day, or they didn't know how to use the machine properly or simply just poor ratios of coffee/milk/foam. Its a shame to have such an expensive piece of equipment and all the resources available to make great coffee without perfecting the process. Needless to say, I was disappointed. read more

I came here with my boyfriend yesterday and was somewhat disappointed with this place. I walk past this cute coffee shop every weekday on my walk to and from the Babylon LIRR station. Watching this place get a makeover as I walked past every day a few months back built up my anticipation to try it once it opened. Yesterday was my first time and my bf and I both ordered iced lattes. I had caramel, he had vanilla. The flavored lattes are $6.75 each, regular ones are $5.75, which is a bit much. The cashier took our order and there was only 1 barista behind the counter making drinks. We didn't think the wait would be too long, but it took about 12 mins for our drinks to be created. There were only a few people ahead of us so waiting this long really shouldn't have happened. The staff was friendly though, and they accompanied customers ahead of us that had issues with their orders. The coffee was delicious and high quality. However, I think that Babylon needs a more affordable coffee place, just my opinion!! I'll definitely be back to sample some food, just not before my train since the wait time is long! read more

What a lovely spot! Coffee (plain drip) was rich and smooth and fairly priced. This VEGAN was delighted to find a fine S'which for a respectable price AND at least one Vegan "sweet treat". First swing and a miss was the coffee order, my girl orders a latte and I order a plain black coffee.... she gets her latte way before the barista could of picked up any cup and just poured the coffee into it... ok not the worst.. ordered the Egg sandwich which was supposed to have avocado, bacon, egg, cheese on a pretzel bun... after waiting almost 30 mins to see other people go up and order after us and get their food faster (strike 2)...Finally 2 egg sandwiches come out with no avocado on stale regular toast... I'm surprised they remembered to even put the eggs on an egg sandwich.... The iced latte was first $ 4.75 (more expensive than an iced latte from La Colombe on Wall St or on Lafayette St where the rents are no doubt significantly higher.) Today an iced latte cost me $6.25. It is watery and milky. From day one at this place there has been no consistency other than not drinkable to barely drinkable. Save your money and go somewhere else. I'm from Seattle and coffee shops are equivalent to the number of pizzerias here. The coffee is good (may even be some Of the best compared to what I'm used to), the service okay but the price is outrageous. Yes it's good but it will limit how often I come here. I've never paid this much before and I've been going to organic, free trade, local etc... coffee shops for decades. I don't see how it's justified but since I'm a sucker for good coffee and miss Seattle, I'll keep coming. read more
