THIS REVIEW IS FROM A LEASE DEAL IN APRIL. Let me start by saying i am not one to write reviews but this experience was just terrible. I have been leasing for years but this by far is the worst experience. This dealership is the worse dealership I have ever been too, they literally only care about the sale and not the customer relationship, they just see you as a number. I have never been to a dealership so shady in my life. Henry the financial manager should really find another job because the way he handles his business will have this dealership closing very soon. He did not keep his word, his goal is to take as much money as he can from you. He will try to play you like a fool and make you pay more then what was agreed upon, he's literally a piece of sh**. Majority of the sales team here are clueless. David and Mark especially! I will never come to this dealership again and I'm going to make sure I tell all my friends and family never to come here. It was our first time purchasing a car and we are very happy with our experience. Les and his team were great at answering the million questions we had and it was nice chatting with him while waiting for all the paper work to get completed. They were very patient while we shopped around for insurance, never made us feel like we were a pain in the butt. Beyond disappointed with my whole experience. They have horrible customer service. I wanted to lease a new car and was interested in a demo they had on the lot. There was a crack in the windshield and I was told it would be replaced before I picked up the vehicle and I shouldn't worry about it. I called twice to make sure the windshield replacement was taken care of before I came to pick up the car and was told it was. Went to pick up my car and after signing the lease (which originally was written for $15 more per month than what we agreed to...) I was told I had to sign a "we owe you" to fill in the crack in the windshield. Not REPLACE - just fix. After going back and forth with the leasing manager to try to get a NEW windshield as I was told I would get, I also reached out to the General Sales Manager AND the General Manager and they both IGNORED my emails. Still to this day never responded. The Service Manager also wouldn't return my calls regarding the windshield. After three weeks of calling and three days of my car sitting in service, my windshield was finally replaced as I requested. I will probably never go back to this dealership. read more

Had a simple blown tire, and although they did fix it the tire, they messed up something else and now my car is pulling to the right everytime. I took the it back immediately and they keep saying, "no no, the car is fine" even though it clearly pulls. This is a brand new GLI. Took it to another dealership and they want to charge for just figuring out what the problem is, even though i have the top coverage for everything. Ridiculous VW service throughout. Such disjointed customer server. Apparently each VW dealer is independent, so for anyone that moves, like i did, you are completely out of luck. VW needs to do a better job of controlling this at the corporate level. Just seems shady to me that even though i bought the and car across VW, one dealership will do things different than another. Just don't trust the Jack Daniels crew anymore. Do not get the upgraded warranty, save your $5k. BUYER BEWARE!!! If they say "with this coverage you car will be in 'like new' condition for x years" don't trust it. You will pay everytime you need to do a diagnosis. You will pay for the basic stuff that gets broken EVERYTIME. Just save the $. Update for Jack Daniels:: It is not Tom's problem. This is an overall VW issue where you are selling extra warranty that makes people jump thru hopes for 1/2 their day because the warranty is covered by a 3rd party. Additionally each VW dealership has their own rules. You mix this together and it is a recipe for disaster. Also not everything is covered, and even though your sales guy says it is during the sale, it is not covered when the issue actually comes up. Ex, alignments are not covered, basic things that break down are not covered. And even if they are, i still have to shell out $150 every time i need to see what the problem really is. Been here twice, same issue im having now, slashed tire/wheel deformity. Had tire/wheel insurance, i say "had" not knowing my policy expired. My 1st experience was ok, but atleast they got the job done. Moving forward, went in with the same expecations, instead i was entrapped into paying for a service i didn't ask for. told the lady (wont mention names, not here for resentment) 3 TIMES, i DIDNT want to get my car inspected, had a spare in my trunk, just needed to get back to work. she mentioned about a car rental that was 15$? obviously confused, i reminded her again i have a spare in my trunk and could leave my defective rim/tire so fidelity can take a look at it, as per my first experience... and AGAIN she replied with the inspection and or rental? completely ignoring my request, she then went on to let me know a fidelity rep would have to come and inspect my tire/rim to see if its even covered and asked me to wait. after an hr & 30 min, she says the car will be looked at, thinking it was the rep from fidelity. another 30 min passes, and she gives me an analysis on all my tires/rims? ignoring my request YET again, i told her i just needed one tire to get REPLACED. she then says, "oh btw, your tire/wheel insurance was expired as of Feb 2015". this couldnt be expressed to me in the very beginning, as to the only reason i was there? add insult to injury, i had to pay 37$... 37 for what??? of course i conveyed my disdain, but couldnt leave without paying for their "services". ... The experience started quite well but dropped badly in the end. I bought a pre-owned qualified VW Jetta 2008. The sales person was very nice and helpful throughout the whole process. I bought the car in advance and payed cash. Since I had to travel for work they kept the car until I could pick it up. I though this was great. Soon after pick up I discovered a lot of scratches all over the car. I think that they were probably covered with something that came off with the first rain...Plus there was a big scratch in the passenger window that compromises the view. I called immediately and was told it could be fixed. After nunerous emails going back and fourth, it turns out they didn't want to fix it and they didn't care. I really trusted them as official VW dealer and having a certified program. This should be clearly part of their check up! I'm very dissappointed and would not go back there for my next car! If you decide to buy there, put everything in written and check the car in depth before you buy. As soon as they have your money, you are no value for them anymore. read more

The car they gave me was not the VIN on the paperwork. Mistakes happen, but the team at JD Volkswagen did a poor job of remedying it and called me 6 different times with a different story as to where my car was, including at one point saying that they had sold my car to another customer and that they wanted me and that customer to swap what were essentially now used cars. When it turned out my VIN was actually at the service center, the sales manager showed up over a half hour late to our appointment for us to swap cars. Worst of all, once I received the corrected VIN vehicle, it had almost 1300 miles on it. Very unprofessional and I would go to another dealership if you are interested in a Volkswagen. read more

I should have read the reviews before buying my Beetle. I love the car and I think I got a good deal but the detailing was not up to par. I wanted to transfer my plates but they screwed up and got new plates for my car and now I have to contend with returning the old plates in addition to paying for plates I didn't need. The Service manager talked a good game while I was with him when I went to pick up my registration but never called me back and 7 days later it took 2 days to get him on the phone and I was hung up on at least 3 times. The final outcome is that they are trying to blame motor vehicles for not transferring the plates instead of admitting they just screwed up. I will never buy another car from them and most likely not use the service center either. All I can say is if I conducted myself in the same manor as they do I wouldn't have a job any longer. If I could give them no stars I would.... Probably the worst service I've ever had! To start, I had my Touareg in twice because the AC started to smell like rotten eggs because the water had been sitting somewhere in the AC instead of draining out of the unit. After the first service, it still smelled and now the AC started draining inside my car. At the second service, they fixed the draining inside the car but never the ever growing smell. My answer to the issue still not being revolved was "we cleaned everything we can". Thanks JD. AND they returned my car with a broken door handle, passing it off as if it was loose....when it came off in my hand as I was closing my car door to leave I was shocked. They straight out LIED TO ME. They did tell me that they would fix it and would have to replace the entire panel, as you can't just order the handle. THEN THEY REPLACED JUST THE HANDLE and left the torn leather on each side of the handle. BUT WORST is they didn't align the cover panel over the window controls properly so the they now GET JAMMED and you can't even unlock the rear windows anymore because the button is jammed down under the panel. WHO PERFORMS SERVICE LIKE THAT??? They don't care. They want you to spend top dollar but don't give you top notch service. They followed up with a call if we were happy with the service and when I explained that we were absolutely NOT, the manager was supposed to call us but NEVER did. BAD BAD BAD SERVICE. I really wanted to like this dealer, my first interaction with them was very positive, but sadly only my first interaction with them was positive.... I first came into JDVW with my 2014 Jetta because I had been told by the dealer I bought it (Not Jack Daniels) at that they "forgot" to put the tire protection warranty on the deal and sorry it was too late. Jack D sales guy told me that since my car had less than 4k on it at the time and was only a few months old that we could easily add the package, he gave me a good price, I gave him my credit card and all was happy. The problems started shortly thereafter, there was another incident I will not put on here regarding service department, but I will talk to the sales department...I was in recently having a tire replaced under that warranty (No problems there) when I saw they had signs up for a "key for key" event where I could possibly get out of my lease and into a new car. Well I figured I had time to kill so let's talk with them. I met with the sales guy who sat with me and went over what I wanted and offered me a test drive, at that point he disappeared... Nowhere to be found, I was about to walk out (but needed a ride back to service) when he came back (close to 25 minutes later) and said they had to bring the car from another lot and that we would be ready for a test drive shortly. He disappeared again... 15 more minutes and the car was there. We went for a ride over to service so he could "evaluate" my current car's condition and I decided I liked the new car. We then came back and I told them where I wanted to be $ wise (I am a VERY tough negotiator which I will admit at the outset) and he said hang out he would see what he could do (and disappeared again) finally he calls me over to another desk with someone I assumed was the general manager, the general manager told me we cannot come close to the numbers I wanted to be at because there were no incentives on the car I wanted. He gave me the number and I said to him "I thought this was key for key" because he was tacking on almost 3k to cover the cost difference in what they could get for my car and he said "it is, it's no money out of your pocket, I discounted the car by 3k so it's a wash" Um, I may not be an accountant but I do have some accounting background and that is pretty much not a true statement. I tried to politely point this out and he then gave me a bunch more "facts" that from a financial standpoint were absolute BS. I humored him a bit since I still needed a ride back to get my car and had him work the numbers a few different ways, but ultimately he could not make the numbers work, and frankly after the stream of BS that he tried to sell me I was VERY offended, but shook hands and walked away. Then last night I get a call from another person at JD to see what we could do to save this deal, I gave him my numbers, let him know I was offended by the last sales guy (Who this guy informs me is no longer there) and he will do all he can to save the deal, I tell him the exact car I wanted (Color package etc) and he says he will try. He calls me several more times over the evening for info such as my old car's VIN number. Finally around 9 he comes back with numbers nowhere near what I wanted, but I was not exactly off put, I wanted to hear more and he told me the folder was locked in the sales managers office and he didn't have the key but he would call me the next day. I informed him that I was interested but we would need to negotiate and he asked if he could call me around noon. He agreed. The next day, no call. Finally I texted him around 3 and asked if he forgot and he replied with something like "I thought you weren't interested" or something and that he was caught up with a single customer all day (yeah right) I then said I am interested but I was rapidly getting upset. He then texts me "Can I call you after 6pm" I pretty much told him no thanks, he apparently is not interested in my business and cannot even afford me the common courtesy of a message to say "Hey I am late, can we talk later" and then wants me to rearrange my schedule a 2nd time to accommodate him. I put in a call the next day to see if there was another person I can deal with, I got one gentleman who claimed to be the sales manager, I related my issues and what had happened, he said he was sorry and would look into it and call me back, before I could even give him my number he hung up on me. I waited 24 hours no call. Then I called back and was passed to the "Sales Manager" (Another person entirely, so I am assuming that eveyrone there is a sales manager) and he was sympathetic, took my numbers down and said he would call me back shortly. Of course he never did. I have also left messages for Andre the overall general manager to try to discuss, and somehow I am not surprised at the lack of call back In short, as Monty Python once said..."RUN AWAY!!!" read more

Very, very bad dealership. Well, in the beginning it was not that bad. In the end of 2012 I was looking to buy a certified pre owned car. Since Jack Daniels had a car I was interested in, I decided to buy it. The one additional star I added is for Nick, who was really helpful along the process. I had some trouble with getting a proper ID from a DMV so I could register the car and he was really helpful - he used his private time to help me do everything so that I could buy the car as soon as possible. The car itself was ok - as far as I knew at this point - so after some time I was a happy owner of a VW CC. Now for the bad part. Within just a couple of months I had to go to a dealership because check engine light came up. After checking in my local dealer (not Jack Daniels) I was told it was something with the oil. After some time it turned out the service department could not remove a screw to change oil because it had no sides on its head. Somebody in the past much have done something strange to this bolt and it ended up being round. They told me they need to change the whole thing that had the bolt in and it would cost $700. I told them that this is a Certified Pre Owned car and it probably be changed under warranty. They told me no, and that I should call the previous dealership, where I got the car, to ask what was going on with the car and if they will refund it to me. That's what I did. I called Nick, the salesman and asked why he never told me about this. He sounded concerned and told me that he would talk to the management to see if they could refund this. He called me back after some time saying that manager did not agree to pay money back to me because IT WAS ME WHO MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING WITH IT - THEY WOULD NOT BREAK THE BOLT LIKE THIS. So basically I was told it is my fault that it looks like it looks. I never even touched it. I was driving the car for couple of weeks and that's it. Guys at my local dealership said it was just a result of a very bad person who was inexperienced. Needless to say I ended up paying for this. I even tried contacting Jack Daniels a couple more times but at one point they just stopped answering my phone number. Very unprofessional. Ther are a ton of dealerships around - try looking for something else. Don't come here because you will probably be robbed like I was. And to think it was a CERTIFIED PRE OWNED car. The only reason for the star is because the sales person was helpful in showing us the used car we were interested in, test driving it with us and getting us to the appropriate person for buying. However, from there on out it was a nightmare. We didn't need a loan or finance and had the money to cover the purchase of the vehicle. But apparently VW thought differently and tried to trick us into getting us into one of their financing loans with their approved banks. They pushed paperwork in front of us to sign and we picked up on it and called them out on it. And it was for a higher rate then we had elsewhere. VERY SNEAKY and UNPROFESSIONAL. Another highlight to their incompetency -  My daughter was pulled over because there was NO INSPECTION STICKER !!!  Then, I realized that we NEVER RECEIVED THE REGISTRATION CARD!!! For an overview: JD put odometer reading for mid November - Car turned in September 29. JD told VW credit they did not have possession of car - Car turned in September 29. JD Never made the car payment that was added to my lease payments- I NOW HAVE A CREDIT SCORE 60 POINTS LOWER!! JD Never paid VW for the Wear and Tear that I paid $3,400 to Jack Daniels to pay. Lets remember that I stopped at dealership 2x, Personally gave Greg King the Manager  the bills - He assured me all was paid in October - Called him 4x after - He then said it would be paid...  Constant run around. I Faxed copies as well as emailed copies of bills to him - Phoned multiple times -  I then spoke with the General Manager, Don Chittum - He stated that he would call me the next morning - NEVER returned my call - I called 3x Leaving 2 messages!! It was NEVER taken care of until I involved VW CREDIT!! When the salesperson I was working with wasn't around, I couldn't get a hold of anyone else who was helpful or could take over where my salesperson left off. Also when I decided to go with my bank instead of financing thru them, they just tried to belittle me and make me feel like I made the dumbest decision of my life. I've been with VW for 9 years and I was always very happy but going in this past week everything has changed. First, they had me waiting there when I clearly had an appointment my name was even on their board. The salesman I was suppose to talk to was else where but then finally someone else decided to "help" us. He hardly knew what the difference of the models were and it was basically a waste of my time. Seems like there's many people working there that were just hanging around. After the original salesman I was suppose to talk to was finally done with the other customer he went to another customer. I grew frustrated with the lack of competence and customer service this place had and got up and left. Worst ever!!!! I purchased a used vehicle from them. We were very rushed for time. We had a totaled vehicle and needed to purchase another one quickly. Never do this!!!! We looked the car over, started it but did not test drive it. My fault on that. We went to pick up the vehicle and as soon as we drove off the lot the brakes were "jumping". We took the vehicle into Jack Daniels VW service (which is WORSE THEN THE SALES DEPARTMENT). They told us that the rotors we warped from sitting and they needed the approval from the sales department to replace them. I called the manager in the sales department and left 3 messages for him to call service and me. He did not call either. After 2 days the service department called me and said "Either you pay for these repairs or come pick up your vehicle". "Sales did not call so you have to pay or pick up your car!". I called sales and was very upset with the manager and he could not understand why. That done. The vehicle was not starting every time on the first try. We again took the vehicle to Jack Daniels VW service. They had the vehicle for 4 days. Stated that it started each time they can find nothing wrong. As soon as we took the vehicle back it was still not starting on the first try. It took 3 or 4 times and the vehicle would start. They service department charged us $140 for diagnosis fee. FOR NOTHING!!!! 2days later the vehicle broke down on me over the Tappan Zee Bridge. It needed a new battery. We had the vehicle not even a month. I called service and spoke to the service manager. He stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and "It was my problem because I bought a used vehicle". WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I have purchased other vehicle from Paul Miller VW in Bernardsville. IF YOU WANT A VW TAKE THE EXTRA RIDE AND GO TO PAUL MILLER VW. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!! I took the vehicle to the service department at Paul Miller. They found that the timing system needed to be replaced. Good thing I bought the extra warrantee!!! The ignition switch was bad and the fuel door was not working. The total job came to over $4,300. BUT ACCORDING TO JACK DANIELS THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE!!! Updating my review had my BRAND NEW 2015 FULLY LOADED GOLF sent for service because a leak was found on the top they had my car for 2 weeks and when I went to pick it up the whole top of the car uneven theres a foul smell and theres cracks in all four corners! And today i look at my freaking car again and THERES ANOTHER FREAKING LEAK IN THE CAR IM SO FED UP WITH THEIR BULL CRAP! Not even 6 months and already having problems! Scott our sales person was very good - however the process once we agreed upon a price took way too long - around 3 hours to get into the finance person and in the end, sat with his assistant. When I tried to then pre-purchase the 30 and 40K servicing, it took another 1/2 hour to get the info and then to only find out it came in specific amounts higher than originally quoted. I said to forget it as we were tired of waiting, and when we left we saw the finance manager hanging with some of the sales team. So why did it take 1/2 hour to get the info? My fiancé & I bought a Jetta Turbo from Les Agius at Jack Daniels. I was searching for a manual w/ a Turbo engine and sunroof. Since the Turbo edition doesn't come with a sunroof, he had the service center put one in at NO extra charge! I love the car, the sunroof was done in 2 days and looks flawless. We came across an issue with our temp. plates expiring before the permanents came in ( a problem on our end that we weren't aware of). My only complaint would be I spoke to a sales manager a week prior to the exp. date, & he should have looked into it then. Instead, he said "they will def be here this week, no worries." Then that Friday, the same manager told us "he couldn't give us a temp. plate because we were out of state." However, when we contacted Les on Saturday, he managed to get us another temp. plate by EOD Monday. That was clearly not any fault of Les'. Les worked really hard to find a solution, & get us back on the road asap. If you decide to use Jack Daniels, I highly recommend Les Agius as your Sales Associate. I don't know much about the other staff, but he works really hard and will get you the best deal for a new car, & is more than happy to help with any issues afterwards. read more

Car shopping is not what I'd consider "fun" but Jack Daniels Volkswagen makes it as painless as possible. As with any transaction involving 5 figures, you have to be persistent and eagle-eyed to make sure you don't take a haircut. We had visited many VW dealerships in the past few weeks, and all of them left a bad taste in our mouths for some reason or another. Finally a friend referred us to Jack Daniels and we figured we'd check it out. Well, we ended up working with Jack Daniels. Our salesperson was responsive and helpful. After shopping at ALL the area Volkswagen dealerships, this would be the LAST place I'd ever spend my money. I agree with the reviews noting it feels more like a frat house and on top of that, they don't seem at all interested in actual customer service. After making an appointment to test drive a specific car, the salesman passed me off to someone else when I arrived. The new salesperson had to go to a different lot to get the car. After listening to the original salesman berate the people who showed up after us for being late and then continuing to wait 30 minutes for our car to arrive for the test drive, we finally asked and apparently the car needed gas as well. What is the point of making an appointment if they make no effort to prep the car to aid in the sale? They made no effort to communicate with us throughout or let us know what was going on or apologize for the crappy crappy service. I will not be going back. read more

Before I bought my Passat CC, I drove a honda accord. I will never go back. I bought my car here because i got the best lease price in the area, So far so good, Im very happy with the car except it makes me want to push its limit, I recommend the passat CC to anyone who is looking for a great sedan. Absolutely terrible. Save your business for a different dealership that will help you. My boyfriend wanted to remove the $3000 warranty he got on the used car he purchased and it's been three months and they haven't removed it. When he purchased the car they told him he can come in and cancel the warranty anytime, and he called them to cancel before the 1st payment was due. He keeps calling and going in and nothing. They keep telling him it may take a few months to reflect on his bill in hopes he forgets about it. They just don't wanna give him his money back. read more
